I thought my red lipstick days were OVER! Do you hear me? O-V-E-R! HaHaHa Red is hard to carry off. I haven't bought a red anything in years. I've been sticking with wine, berry and plum colors. So I couldn't believe I was choosing red shades from the Marc Jacobs Beauty Collection on Sephora's website.I kept saying to myself (anybody else fight with themselves while shopping online?). Are you CRAZY? Are you CRAZY KIM? Not only are you picking red shades, but you're not even in the store to sample them. You are ONLINE girl! Are you CRAZY? HaHaHa
Well let me tell you guys! Marc Jacobs is the man! THE MAN! I'm throwing kisses to him throughout this post! I couldn't be more pleased with his red lipstick and nail lacquer. And I should, because it was expensive! I wonder if Tom Ford can top Marc? No pun intended :P Blamin' it on the RED! HaHaHa
But I digress honey, this red is not for the faint of heart, the shy, the timid...none of that! This red says you are SEXY-AND-YOU-KNOW-IT, you're a SIREN...you are SMOKIN' HOT, you are the TOP B'WITCH IN CHARGE, LOOK-AT-ME, DON'T-MESS-WITH-ME, and I'M-ALL-THAT. This red is SEXY! This red is FIERCE! And honestly when you put it on, that's the way it makes you feel. Here's my review.

Velvety. Smooth. Silk for your lips. It's like BUTTER! I've had some rough-ass lipstick in my life. So you know the good stuff when it hits your lips. Yes, you do. This lipstick feels great. The packaging is awesome. It doesn't feel cheap. What's really cool about this lipstick is that the case is magnetized. YES! Did you know that? Don't worry about air seeping in, because this baby will snap back. Awesome feature. This lipstick twists up and the actual lipstick is rounded. When you apply it hugs your lips. It's a beautiful deep red. It's like a cherry red. There's nothing weak about it. It stayed put on my lips and didn't stray. Fear NOT this brilliant red!

This nail lacquer IS like the coating on a candy apple! What you see below is one coat! That's it! If you want more, you can...but it's not necessary. This stuff dries faster than a (fill in the blank). The fastest I've ever seen. It lays evenly. I have no complaints. You'll get a good 5 - 7 days wear out of this. Depending on how much you use your hands or feet :). The packaging is as SEXY as the color! HaHaHa

ReplyDeleteI've been really intrigued by Marc Jacobs cosmetics, but also really skeptical... so often designers forays into cosmetics turn out to be disastrous, especially considering the price point. It's wonderful to read such a positive review, especially of red lipstick - I'm always on the hunt for the next great red lipshade and I'm definitely putting this one on my list!
