Kylie Cosmetics The Burgundy Palette Kyshadow And Pumpkin Lip Kit Review & Swatches

I haven't purchased anything from Kylie Cosmetics since her Birthday Edition Collection back in August. I was intrigued by the colors in her Fall collection and decided to purchase both The Burgundy Palette & Pumpkin Lip Kit. I felt they would pair well together. Below are my thoughts on both.

Sweet-Bittersweet-NotSweet
supersweet(run & buy it) sweet(really good,buy it) bittersweet(ok, issues)not sweet(not good,don't buy this stuff)

Kylie Pumpkin Lip Kit - Sweet

When you think of a pumpkin, you probably think of the color orange. Well that's not the case with Kylie's Pumpkin Lip Kit. It's a rich, beautiful cinnamon brown. She should've named it sweet potato (LOL). I SUPER LOVE the color when it's "wet". I love it when it dries down. I wish she would make all her lip kits available in GLOSSES, because I much prefer the formula of her glosses than to her mattes. It's a great color and still available on her website. I'm glad I purchased it. I just wish it was a gloss.

Kylie The Burgundy Palette - Sweet

This is Kylie's second eye shadow palette. I never purchased the first palette (The Bronze Palette) because I wasn't impressed with the swatches I saw online. The Burgundy Palette is livelier than the first one and has a lot more punch & zip. This may be due to the number of metallic shades in the palette. This palette has browns, golds, coppers & various reds. Those are the hot colors of the season. The quality of the shadows are good. I just wish the mattes were a little more pigmented. Maybe I'll try them with MAC Fix+. Both this palette and the first one do not have a mirror. However moving forward, all future palettes will contain a mirror (starting with her Christmas collection 11/21/16).

  1. Pumpkin is such a stunning shade. I haven't tried any of her glosses and I do find her mattes to be quite drying over lengthy hours so perhaps a gloss in this shade sounds like a good idea! :)

Love the packaging of KyShadows more than anything! :D x

  3. Oh that is such a beautiful set of eyeshadows Kim! I really like all those colours. I can see why you like that lip colour a little more when it's wet too, what a lovely shade! It's nice dry but I agree it would look wonderful as a gloss! :)

    Hope you've had a wonderful weekend :)

  5. I haven't been drawn to any of the Kylie products but I do love the bold red lip kit (I think mary jo k?) and this palette. Obviously, the colors in the palette speak to me! But I've never tried anything from her line.

  6. The pumpkin shade is gorgeous but yes, it could have been named something else! It looks gorgeous on you!

  7. I would also expect pumpkin to be more in the orange family but the actual color is super pretty and looks gorgeous on you Kim. The gloss formula also sounds really good. Bummer that the eyeshadows weren't that pigmented and the palette didn't come with a mirror. For $42, it should really include a mirror! At least they're changing that with the new collections.

  8. I would never buy a lip shade with pumpkin in the name because it definitely makes me think orange, but the shade is actually really lovely - definitely much more sweet potato, ha ha! I still haven't had any desire to try Kylie's beauty products but it does sound like the formulas are improving as she releases new collections.

  9. Sweet potato would have been a fun name for the lip color. It looks great on you Kim! I love the Burgundy Palette eyeshadow. Such rich fall tones.

  10. That pumpkin looks so good on you, Kim! Love love love. And I didn't even know she has eyeshadow palettes! Wut?!?! I've been living under the rock apparently:P

  11. I love the packaging of the eye palette and her little note is so cute, not to mention how beautiful the shadows are! I agree, the "pumpkin" doesn't quite look like pumpkin, lol. Perhaps they could've named it Cinnamon Spice or like you said, Sweet Potato. Nonetheless, it's such a beautiful color! Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts, beautiful, and I hope you're having a great start to your Monday so far!

  13. I like that the lip color is more of a darker orange/brown then bright orange. I haven't tried any of her lip or eye products. The palette looks nice but my favorite colors are the first swatches. Thanks for sharing Kim!

  15. I love the dark orange/brown lipstick on you, such a lovely colour! I haven't tried any of the Kylie products, I heard so many people saying that shipping cost is too expensive and we have to deal with extra customs so I don't think I will be ordering soon :) x

  16. I don't own anything from Kylie...but I'm with you, I wish every shade she made also came in a gloss. Mainly because I'm not a huge fan of matte lip products and I wear glosses more. The palette looks SO pretty and colors that are totally up my alley -- I just adore these colors! The Pumpkin color looks amazing on you, Kim!

  18. I haven't tried any of the products but they do look lovely and warm for this time of year. I'd like to see gloss instead of just matte but perhaps that's what makes the brand different….

Loving all your swatches too, sooooo pretty!

  20. This makes me want to go buy Kylie products! I remember you last review of the lip kit and that was the first time I really began to trust that she produced a good product. This review just confirmed I need to go and buy a kit and possibly a palette as well! Thanks for always sharing with us your honest thoughts. Xo, Ellese

  21. Pumpkin is a great shade - I do think it looks like pumpkin pie (but definitely has a much warmer and less orange tone.) Sweet potato is accurate haha!
The swatches of the eye shadow look fantastic! I love that you included a little clip of it moving around. Really helps you get a better idea of what they look like!

  23. I have seen this palette floating through but it's so bloody expensive in CAD$, Kim to the point it's ridiculous. I see people trying to sell it for C$90.00, like wtf?! I rather spend that amount on Natasha Denona palette. :-(

  24. This is such a stunning palette! It's definitely been on my wish list, and looks a lot better than the first one that was released! I'm glad all of the upcoming palette will have mirrors in them! And that pumpkin lip color is so pretty, such a perfect shade for fall Kim!

  25. I have never purchased anything Kardashian related but have heard only good things on these glosses. Great shades.

  26. Honestly, anything Kardashian annoys me. Lol. The pumpkin looks kinda brownish tho. You're right, I'd never relate that to pumpkin. Heard Kylie is doing well. Good for her. Talk to you later Kim!
