Kat Burki Ocean Mineral Gel Cleanser & Form Control Marine Collagen Gel Review and Swatches

Sponsored: Hey guys! I was sent Kat Burki's Ocean Mineral Gel Cleanser and Form Control Marine Collagen Gel for review. I've never heard of Kat Burki Skincare. You can read their About Section, but in a nutshell they use NUTRITIONAL science to produce skincare products. They have an "IT's" list following (Alexa Chung, Chloe Sevigny, Ashley Graham etc) and their products can be found at Nordstrom, Bergdorf Goodman, Net-A-Porter etc. I was sent two products and below are my thoughts.

Sweet-Bittersweet-NotSweet
supersweet(run & buy it) sweet(really good,buy it) bittersweet(ok, issues)not sweet(not good,don't buy this stuff)

Kat Burki Ocean Mineral Gel Cleanser ($48) - Sweet

This cleanser is for NORMAL, COMBINATION and SENSITIVE SKIN TYPES. I have dry skin and upon my first use, I knew it wasn't for me. HAHAHA My skin felt a little too clean (stripped). So I wouldn't recommend this for dry skin types. However, I gave it to my mom who has combination skin and she didn't have any problems with this cleanser. She loved how clean it made her skin feel (she said it didn't strip her skin). She also stated how soft her skin felt. For some reason (through my experiences), I don't do well with gel or foam cleansers. My dry skin rejects them! Anyone else experience that? This cleanser has 92 skin invigorating ocean minerals, that dissolves makeup impurities, and excess oil. It's formulated WITHOUT: Parabens, Synthetic Dyes, Synthetic Fragrances, Gluten, Sulfates, Petrolatum and Mineral Oils. The ingredients include, tea tree oil, rose hip seed oil, orange peel, grapefruit seeds, ocean mineral complex (92), gotu kola, arnica, calendula, lavender, chamomile and MSM. I looked to see if there was another cleanser, but I only saw this one and a Vitamin C Nourishing Cleansing Balm ($65), which is a second cleanse. I was hoping they had another cleanser for dry skin types.

Kat Burki Form Control Marine Collagen Gel ($150 USD) - Supersweet

Now this product did agree with my skin! I really liked it. It pretty much plumps up the skin. It dispenses like a serum. You can apply it all over your face or target certain areas. It has pure algae keratin (regenerate cells), botanical hyaluronic acid & silk amino acid proteins (smooth lines, wrinkles & elasticity) and 14 collagen boosters. I used this on my skin both day and night. When you wake up in the morning, your skin feels really soft & smooth. During the day, I used it under my makeup and makeup application was truly a breeze. I was very impressed with this. It's non-sticky, sinks into the skin, dries right away and you're left with soft, supple skin.

*Both the cleanser and collagen gel have a clean, crisp, ocean scent.

  1. The collagen serum sounds nice, but despite having combination skin I don't really get along with foaming cleansers either.

  7. That collagen gel definitely sounds like a winner, Kim. This is another brand you've featured I'm hearing off for the first time so thanks as always for the heads up:) If Alexa Chung and Chloe Sevigny are both fans as well, then I'm sold:D

  9. I have never heard of this brand but these products sound really nice! Especially the serum. I don't have dry skin but sometimes some cleansers strip my skin too.

  10. I've never heard of those brand before! I hope they add a cleanser for dry skin too, Kim! I'm glad the cleanser worked out for your mom. From what I've tried of gel cleansers, I can see how they would be drying. The one I use dries my face out a tiny bit, but since I'm combo it works out for me!! I'm glad collagen gel worked out for you!!

  19. This brand is new to me, too, Kim. Although my skin is combination, I also find that gel cleansers tend to strip my skin. I do love a good foam cleanser but most of the time, i stick with Noxema - it works, ha ha! Thanks for the introduction to this brand, I'm going to do a little research on it myself :)
