I've never tried anything from
La Roche-Posay, but I always hear great things. So, I was excited to try La Roche-Posay's Toleriane Double Repair Moisturizer ($19.99). Anybody who has dry skin, loves to hear the words MOISTURIZE! Double Moisturize? Repair? Why not!?! Under their website, it's listed as a product to try if you have dry skin. Their website states, it's a "daily oil free facial moisturizer to help restore healthy looking skin." They also state it, "replenishes moisture for up to 48-hour hydration and helps restore skin’s natural protective barrier." The key ingredients are glycerin and thermal water. I'm not a fan of glycerin soap. So let me share my experience. This moisturizer is creamy & white. When I applied it to my face, it applied well and my skin initially felt moisturized. It has a fresh, clean scent. That is where the magic stopped for me. Once the moisturizer dried down, it left a white cast on my skin and then I experienced pilling. This happened every time I used it. Plus the moisture went away, after application. I don't like looking at other reviews, but I was curious to see if anyone else experienced what I did. One lady mentioned she experience pilling (but she thought it was the sunscreen she applied afterward). Nah! It's this! Another lady mentioned it left a scaly residue on her face (pilling). There were a lot of really good reviews about this moisturizer. I almost gave it a Not Sweet rating, but because of those reviews I bumped mine up to Bittersweet. I don't know if it conflicts with the cleanser I'm using or something else, but this moisturizer isn't for me. I also tried it on my hand. I didn't get a white cast or experience pilling, but my hand didn't feel moisturized either. So unfortunately you guys, this is a pass for me. I will still try other La Roche-Posay skincare products, because I always hear great things.
