Designers in the exhibition include Versace, David Emmanuel, Catherine Walker and Bellville Sassoon Lorcan Mullany.
Proceeds from the exhibit will raise money for the new palace renovations. Kensington Palace underwent an $18.8 million dollar renovation. It will be used for charity events and receptions.
The catch is the exhibit is extremely small. They're only showcasing 5 of her dresses (I've attached the ones rumored to be showcased). So would you pay to see 5 of Princess Diana's dresses? Right now the website has the cost at £14.50, which equals to $19.12 (USD). Children under the age of 16 get in free. 16? I wish that age was implemented here in the states. LOL Also, are most museums in England FREE? I think that's great if it's true.
Any Londoners out there? What's the word on this exhibit? Info is very hush hush over here.
Also, what's the financial state of The Royal Family? I've noticed they've been cutting back as much as everyone else. Share your thoughts.
Beautiful!! Would be great to see and bring loads of people!! I love the museums here - and yes they are mainly free!! The UK do a great job of getting people out and seeing historical places and museums with The National Trust, I've been quite impressed with it! Many are free in Scotland too, only one so far that hasn't been free I've been in. Would love to see this, I need to visit London again..maybe soon!! Hope you have a great day doll!! (((HUGS)))
ReplyDeleteThat is a little expensive just to look at 5 dresses! Wow, 16 years old! Here it's what? 12? LOL
ReplyDeleteI loved Princess Diana's story but hated her tragic end. I've written several reports about her just because she was a great person to admire :) Love this post!!
I'll have to come back to see what the Londoners say about this! haha
It would be a lovely exhibition for her fans to see :)

I don't know anything about their finances, but i do see that things aren't as lavish. But, I think if they are still doing really well and they are conserving like the rest of the world its really humble of them. No one likes a flaunter. haha
ReplyDeletePersonally, I wouldn't pay to see only five dresses. For the true Princess Di fans out there, this might be super. For me, not so much. I would love a proper exhibit about her, though. :) Thanks for sharing this, Kim! HUGS! xoxo ♥
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't pay to see 5 dresses unless I get to pick one and take it home with me. I do, however, know a lot of people that would be willing to pay to go in!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I'm curious enough to go all the way to London just to see the small collection. I think that there was a record number of visitors who turned up to see Duchess of Cornwall's wedding gown.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see this exhibit if I were in London but I'm not sure if I'd be willing to pony up that kind of money for such a small exhibit. If they were donating the proceeds to charity it would be another matter. Happy leap day Kim!

very nice, i would love to attend
ReplyDeletei am impressed with the fact that no one pays under 16! i mean here in Greece its mainly 8-12. Not 16! Although in Italy it was under 16, not everywhere, but some places. I guess its the same for the Brits (lucky you!). i wouldn't really pay that much money to see 5 dresses but some hard-core fans will i am sure
ReplyDeleteshe was a bautiful person! nice post

ReplyDeleteThe idea sounds great but if there are only 5 dresses, I don't think I'm that interested.

Super cool! I wish I could go see this! That pink/purple dress is fabulous. Look at that, she was color blocking way back then! :o)
ReplyDeleteDiana - oh so beautiful and classic. Would love to be in London to see this exhibit although small. You find out about the most interesting things.
ReplyDeleteBy the way I can't believe I missed your birthday. Happy Belated Kim and hope it was wonderful friend.

I'd pay it- she's an icon. Camilla is about as attractive as a mop next to Diana.
ReplyDeleteI don't know that I'd pay almost $20 for it . . . but I won't be in England anytime soon, so we'll never really know! ;)
ReplyDeleteI think it would be a lovely exhibit! Don't know how I feel about paying $20 for looking at five dresses.. I might feel better if there were pictures and other things in there haha.
ReplyDeleteShe was such a Style Icon. Wish I could go for the exhibit
ReplyDeleteit's really interesting that they are doing this exhibit. she was such a doll!
ReplyDeletei really like that black dress she's wearing with the prince.
Just 5 dresses? Hmm though if they had other great photos, I may still go!

I would love to see an exhibit of Diana's wardrobe and photographs of her....but 5 dresses seems a bit shy to make a real impact on the audience. Verdict: I would go if there was more on exhibit!!
ReplyDeletewow what a great exhibit! but a bit too pricey. but i suppose the diehard fans will still go check it out. gahhh i love her dresses, she had such impeccable taste!
ReplyDeleteOh what I wouldn't give to see this - such an amazing lady with unique beauty and style :)
