{Vogue's Down The Rabbit Hole:Custom Bunnies for Easter}
How Was Your Easter or Passover?
Was the Easter bunny good to you? Hopefully it was egg-cellent :) The weather couldn't have been more beautiful here in New Orleans. I had a really good one. This little chicadee ate some great food and caught some pretty good Easter sales. Here's a daily look at what I ate and wore.
A Crawfish Tail (Good Friday)
Crawfish Pic 1: "I dare you eat me! *Side Eye Glance*.
Crawfish Pic 2: "Look me in both eyes. You won't eat me! Right?!"
Me Pic 3: Mmmm! Mmmm! Mmmm! HaHaHa

The Story: It's almost tradition, here in New Orleans, that you load up on seafood on Good Friday. Many locals eat lots and lots of crawfish on this day. I had crawfish, potatoes, and corn. This is the tshirt dress I wore. (Old Navy's Striped French Terry Shift Dress in Red Chili)
Blueberry Muffins, Smoothies and Dresses (Holy Saturday)
The Story: I had blueberry muffins and a strawberry/banana smoothie for breakfast. I then whipped up a cake for Easter dinner. This is a dress I wore later that evening. (Garnet Hill Piazza Knit Dress in Blueberry).
Cornish Hen, Asparagus, Wild Rice, Veggies and Lemon Cake
(Easter Sunday)
(Easter Sunday)
The Story: I juiced vegetables that morning and my Easter dinner consisted of cornish hens, asparagus, wild rice and lemon cake w/ lemon frosting I made the day before. Can you believe I didn't have ANY CHOCOLATE? I think that's an Easter 1st for me!!! LOL No outfit post for this one, but as I was browsing Nordstrom's site I found these Moschino Cheap and Chic 'Utensil' Sandals to be funny! HaHaHa

Looks like you had a very delicious holiday weekend!!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite things about New Orleans is the food. I've spent the past decade trying to perfectly replicate a muffaleta sandwich I had there in 2002. Haha! I'm still working on it!
My Easter was okay. I saw the Hunger Games, which I really enjoyed. I had not read the book, so I was a little apprehensive that I wouldn't be able to follow along. But I did. And now I'm noshing on peeps and chocolate eggs which I got at the grocery store this morning for 75 cents. Gotta love the sales! ;)
Sounds like you had some fantastic food this weekend!!! YUM! Our Easter weekend was rather quiet which was unusual, bu nice. xoxo A-

ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!! I love your documentation of the weekend :) the crawfish looks delicious!! I was totally craving some on Good Friday too (and really, every Friday of Lent) but the closest places near us would have taken an hour through traffic plus a horrendous wait time... :(

Ahh! That lobster...well, one day I hope to visit the big easy, but 'til then, I gotta say, I'm scared to try something like that! Guess it is the Texan side of me...things from the water scare me! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your holiday was great though...so was mine! ;)
It sounds like you had an absolutely delicious Easter, Kim! That lemon cake looks divine :) There was nothing fancy at our place this year, my husband just started a new job and he spent the weekend at work, so I indulged with some much needed Cee-time!
ReplyDeletexox,
