Zoya Sweet or Not and the OPI Germany Collection

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!

Just being silly you guys, but I AM A WINNER! I won a Zoya Nail Polish Giveaway hosted by fellow blogger AudreyAllure. She's awesome, you should check her blog out. She mixes music videos in between her blog posts.

So, the nail polish gods must've been smiling on me and Zoya is probably sayin' OH NO, not that chick again.

Let me give my new readers some background. In February, I reviewed two of Zoya's nail polishes and was less than impressed. You can read my 'I'm a Barbie Girl' review and what others had to say HERE. BUT, there are SECOND CHANCES! So here's my review:

SWEET - BITTERSWEET - NOT SWEET
I officially declare Zoya
NOT SWEET
  Pros:
  • Large Assortment! Zoya has the LARGEST assortment of nail polishes and colors you could ever want. They look beautiful!
  • Excellent Advertising and Marketing! They are always on Twitter holding contests, giving away free nail polish and offering great deals.
  • Fabulous Price! Most of their nail polishes are about $8.
Cons:
  • Looks are deceiving. Some Colors Work. Others Don't. If you buy polish from Zoya, I suggest being very selective. Myrta and Tracie required several coats and careful application. The pinks I tried in February were cremes and smudged badly.
  • Long Drying Time. If you don't have time to sit for at least 30 plus minutes, don't buy these.
  • Short Lasting Time. My manicure stayed ok for about 3-4 days.
  • Hard to Remove. I had to use a lot of nail polish remover to remove this nail polish.

The Final Word: I'm not a Zoya fan. They're just ok, and just ok doesn't cut it for me. I always look for QUALITY and Zoya doesn't have it. There are too many problems.

So that review wasn't sweet. I dislike those, but I'll tell you what is SWEET!

OPI's Germany Collection! Have you seen it? I love the names. The collection can be found in Ulta stores.

How about a Giveaway of OPI's Ger-minis? Yes? Ok. There's only one thing you have to do to enter. See below.

  18. So sorry to hear that you didn't like your Zoya polishes. The two colors that I have from Zoya worked pretty well for me, but I do agree with you that it took a lot of effort to remove the polish.

But anwyay, I'm entering your OPI giveaway!

  22. Ugh. I hate a bad nail polish. It just seems like something that shouldn't be that hard to get right. Especially at $8 a pop. I mean, if Sally Hansen can get it right for more than half that price, it shouldn't be that hard right?!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Really useful to know it!:) i'd hate to wait 30 minutes for my nail polish to dry! :S how come it takes soooo long? O_o

  24. Zoya is aweful, I've tried their polishes out before and bleh - never good.
I love OPI - it's really the best.

  32. Hi Kim!!

Sorry, I've been a little behind on everything gal!! Anyhow, you are the second person that has given Zoya polish just an ok review. The other was my coworker. At least we know now! And I just LOVE OPI's clever names - they are always so fun! When their Texas collection came out, I bought the color {even though I don't really wear silver often} because of the name - It's totally Fort Worth it!! LOL! I know that's silly, but I couldn't help myself! :)

    xo, sam

  33. Wah, thank you for this honest review of Zoya! I've heard of this brand before, and have wanted to try it out. I guess I'll steer clear away from it. ^^
But Opi, on the other hand...I kinda love their stuff. :) I'm following you via GFC! Anyone would be lucky to win~

  36. I agree with you about Zoya. I tried a few polishes and was not happy with them. They didn't apply well and I didn't like them after they dried.
