Sweetapolita: Fancy Cakes & Confections

How do these sound? Candy apples topped with cotton candy. Peanut butter and chocolate cake sprinkled with caramel popcorn. Lemon blueberry macaron delight cake. Exactly! Here's a napkin to pat your lips. HaHaHa I was on Twitter a couple of nights ago and came across a scrumptious site called Sweetapolita by Rosie Alyea. I bookmarked it and when I went to her Facebook page and blog I nearly fell out of my computer chair looking at her confectionery creations. If you love to bake, want to take your baking skills to the next level (mine is still at the Betty Crocker & Duncan Hines stage LOL), want to impress your friends at your next party, or simply like looking at beautiful baked goods, you'll want to subscribe to her site. She gives you detailed recipe directions and sometimes videos are attached.

Here's a little background about Rosie. She does not own a bakery and currently she's not taking custom cake or confectionery orders! She's simply passionate about the art of baking, cake & confection design, and photography among many other talents. She lives in Canada. She's a wife & mother. She took cake design and baking from Bonnie Gordon College of Confectionary Arts in Toronto, Canada. I'm not sure if you guys ever heard of or tried Cake Beauty products, but she was the co-creator of those products! I haven't ordered from them in a really long time (mental note to revisit! HaHa), but their Dessert-ed Island body lotion was AWESOME. Rosie is no longer affiliated with Cake Beauty, but it was fantastic to read about her connection with the brand. 22. OH MY GOD Kim - i need more napkins! I am very disappointed that she doesnt have a bakery cuz i will have to make them myself! These recipes sound really bad..i mean cotton candy..macarons...caramel popcorn. I am going to gain 20 more pounds making one recipe per week! Gosh they look so delicious as well as beautiful. Thank you for sharing the goodness and the lady behind these heavenly delights. She is so talented.

  41. These deserts are really tempting me to eat them right now. Incidentally, today is my husband's Birthday ! I love the way they have decorated the cakes -such lovely colors and designs on them! I feel that "the Artist's Palette & Paintbrush Cookies" Cake is so innovative. The two cakes -The Macaron cake and the Inside out layer cake is looking very delicious-just look at those beautiful and colorful layers !
I just came across some of your photos in your old "clueless, closet, cookies" post and I want to tell you that you are looking so sweet in them.
