Guerlain's La Petite Robe Noire

Have you ever desired to purchase a perfume based on the design of the bottle alone? Please say yes. It will make me feel better. HaHaHa

Well, I haven't purchased it yet, but that is the way I feel about Guerlain's new version of La Petite Robe Noire (the little black dress) perfume and bottle. I fell in love the first time I saw the pink & black design. I even love the design of the box it comes in and samples. I love perfume bottles. I love perfume bottles more than perfume. HaHaHa I want to collect all of the exquisite ones and put them on a mirrored tray or cake stand... yes, I said cake stand. HaHaHa

How does the new version of Guerlain's La Petite Robe Noire perfume smell? I don't know. HaHaHa I haven't sampled it. But Guerlain states the PINK NOTES are of black cherry, bergamot & rose and the BLACK NOTES are of patchouli, black tea & tonka bean. Has anyone tried it? Is it a buy or pass? Thoughts?

Not only is the bottle cool, but they also came out with a super-illustrative, finger-poppin, whimsical Christmas winter ad campaign. To view how they made the video and for more details regarding the notes of the perfume click HERE. Tell me your thoughts on Guerlain perfume and/or this ad campaign! Wishing everyone a SCENT-sational weekend :)

  1. It looks great, but I haven't tried it yet either. I have had some nasty surprises though with perfumes where the bottle looked great and the stuff inside smelled absolutely hideous! Careful! ;-) Have a great weekend xo

  2. If you do buy it, please post a review. :) You know if it was up to me, I'd have a whole collection of perfumes just for the bottles... :) I think they add a charming touch to the interior and some are so so so pretty! For example, I don't like the smell of Chanel No 5, but I adore the bottle...

  6. I tell you, I'm obsessed with perfume bottles, I'll go straight over to one just for the bottle, so you are not alone!! And I went to this one because of the bottle too..hahahah!! It smells lovely to me, but it was a while since I smelled it and I usually have to smell a perfume a few times to make sure I like it fully as I know scents can change. But, first smell of it, I liked it :))) The bottle is dreamy...I may go back and smell it again after this post to make sure it smells as good as the first time!! The bottle is precious, I could have a perfumery, I tell ya!! I love it!! You decorated here for Christmas, hahaha!! I love it!! Too precious!! Have a wonderful Friday darling girl!! <3 <3

  10. This is such a lovely bottle! I haven't seen this one yet to have a smell in store - I will need to keep my eyes open!

The last perfume I bought a lady sprayed on me as I was shopping and I loved it, but was so sad the bottle looked so plain! haha. I bought it anyway for the smell.

  16. The bottle is just lovely! I can see why you're so enamored by it Kim :) The description of the fragrance does sound nice though. I'm often attracted to the pretty bottles that scents come in as well and if I just went by that I'd have a dresser filled with pretty bottles haha!

Thanks for all your support! It's amazing that a week ago we were all bundled up in front of a space heater and now we're in shorts and t-shirts.

    Have a fab weekend sweets!

  17. KIM! I LOVE this Guerlain campaign, SO FABULOUS and right up my alley, you know, with the illustration and fantasy! Adored it so much, had to watch the video twice (and will be doing it more, I guarantee you!). Thanks for sharing it with us, as I hadn't seen it yet and it's too good to miss!!! (and yes, I DO buy things for the way the packaging looks! lol but only if the item is just as good as the packaging!) Adore! Have a great weekend, sweet and thanks for stopping by this week! ~xoSandy

  18. This is the cutest bottle! And yes, I'd say the looks of the product definitely are a deciding factor in me buying a bottle. I'm in need of some more and department stores can be so overwhelming.

  39. Just like you , I have a habit of buying some products just by looking at the design -I buy perfumes, soaps, sometimes lotions and also tea leaves based on the bottle/packet design !
You know , sometimes, I do not even throw away the packet/bottle even after they are empty and there is nothing left inside !
Although I have never used Guerlain, i have this fascination for French products, design and packaging. I loved the Miss Dior ad on T.V. -it used to be aired long time back . I also love another French product by the name " L'Occitane". I have used their hand cream and lotion and these products are great !
Thank you for your lovely feedback in my blog. Our festive season was going on , so I was bit busy. But this Thursday, we celebrated our final festival -so no more festival are there now. Hopefully, I will get some time to devote myself to blogging now !
Wishing you a lovely weekend !

  47. Kim, wah, these pictures are amazing. The design concept that they went with is so sweet and organic - gotta love how the woman is made of brush strokes. So elegant. And hahah, I always let my eyes judge first (which can be a bad thing, I admit!). If it's visually appealing, I almost instantly wanna buy it.

  51. You are definitely not alone, Kim. I really dig perfume bottles. In fact I used to collect miniature perfume bottles. I don't care how unpleasant the perfume smell after many years, I just continued displaying the bottles. However after shifting into my in-laws place, I left the bottles at my family place.

I dif this Guerlain bottle too. Love the illustration and the ad! Good marketing! Now I wonder how it smells.

  57. Gurlean is one company that has fabulous packaging. The Shalimar bottle is a classic for collectors. Avon was popular at one time for it's exquisite packaging. About Avon's fragrances though--overall, meh--they were okay though didn't live up to their bottling . . . .
