I had a couple of errands to run this past weekend, so I decided to get festive with my attire. Don't worry, no outrageous Christmas sweaters for me. I put on my jingle earrings, vintage Talbots wool wrap skirt (scored on eBay for $20) and black ballet flats from American Eagle.
Honestly, this outfit is like my winter uniform. Black on top, print in the middle and black on bottom. What can I say? It's safe and I've always been one to keep things simple. Maybe one of my new year's resolutions will be to take more risks with my outfits. That's why I have all of you for inspiration.
My First Stop...Starbucks!
I would like to give a HUGE shout out to Jo of WhiteRosesAndCoffee blog! I met Jo this year through blogging and she's truly a doll. She sent me a beautiful Christmas greeting card and $20 gift card to Starbucks. Wasn't that awesome? This weekend, I purchased a chocolate chip frappuccino, a sausage cheddar breakfast sandwich AND took home a bag of sweet treats. One of the treats, was a cute frosted snowman cookie! So Jo, you can see I enjoyed it and I thank you so much for everything. It was the perfect gift! I'm very thankful for your friendship, enjoy reading your blog and loved the gift. I also want to give a HUGE shout out to fellow blogger Miss B of Bobobchic blog and boutique (she has the cutest things in her shop and I sent gifts to Jo and another blogger through her. she packaged everything so nicely and both loved their Christmas gifts). I LOVE ham for Christmas. Honeybaked Ham is spiral cut and has a wonderful brown sugar taste to it. They also have great sides and desserts, but I resisted. Their turkey is also delicious! They had samples to try in the store. All the employees are so nice. I love going there. They always have the right size ham for what you need.
Third Stop! Home!
I know you're saying, WHAAAT!!!??? Well, there was other stuff before home, like the crazy shopping mall. However, it was super crazy busy. I ran in for a couple of things and ran out. HaHaHa Sorry no pics. I promise I'll take pics of it when things settle down. Well I'm pooped! It's time to bake some chocolate chip cookies, read A Christmas Carol and Other Christmas Books (isn't that the best classic tale) and R-E-L-A-X. My Christmas Eve philosophy is just what the napkin says below! "Eat, Drink, and Be Merry".
Merry Christmas Everybody!
Those cookies look great! Love your outfit, and that little gif you have, you'll need to share with me how you did that it looks awesome! Your earrings are adorable and perfect :)

Kim, I love your Christmas attire--that skirt is great! I'm a simple dresser myself, so I appreciate things that can sort of turn into a uniform. For me it was jeans and black boots and my black leather jacket (with a denim shirt) and leopard scarf--every day, haha! Just wanted to wish you the happiest of Christmases, sounds like you are already busy enjoying it!

ReplyDeletei love the look and your gif!how did you do it??
here's that pasta recipe you asked me for
"In a large pot heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.Add the onions to the pan and cook until beginning to soften, about 5 minutes. Add in the garlic (sausages also if you want) and cook, stirring frequently, just until fragrant, about 1 minute. Mix in the oregano, celery and diced tomatoes. Add chicken broth to the pot. Bring the mixture to a boil. Add the pasta of choice to the pot and cook according to the package directions.Add any cheese you want. One minute before the tortellini is fully cooked, stir in the spinach.Season with salt and pepper to taste.Serve warm with grated Parmesan as desired."
i modified this one http://www.annies-eats.com/2011/02/15/tortellini-soup/
