Christmas is...over. New Year's...ka-pow...gone! Onto...Valentine's Day! Oh wait, Plastik Magazine wants us to skip that holiday also. Get ready to fassssst forward to EASTER! HaHaHa Are you ready for Easter rabbits, a plethora of pink and tea? Yesss! Nooo.Well, put on your rose-colored shades because here it comes! Plastik Magazine never ceases to amaze me. I loved their macaron inspired photoshoot, "The Spring Ladies Club" and now they've come up with "Tea for Two" lensed by Rabee Younes. Now this one has a lot more edge. To me it's Alice in Wonderland, The Stepford Wives, Minnie Mouse and Barbie rolled up in one. HaHaHa Plastik always gives you that something-something you don't find in regular magazines. It's always just a little twisted (an easter bunny in heels? the easter bunny has always been male in my mind) with a subliminal message (don't ask me what it is! when i did a search people were talking about "hidden" messages in each picture and such ...it looks like more Tea for Three! hahaha male rabbit in suit, female rabbit in heels and then the model...she has her head in a birdcage...does that mean she feels trapped... i don't know... just my take on symbolism). HaHaHa Well, that's what makes Plastik Magazine unique. Plus, you never know what to expect from them. For this issue (#18) they came out with two covers. The one on the right (above) is a limited edition. Oh gosh that pink wall paper... :P

It was thanks to you that I discovered Plastik magazine and I never cease to be amazed by what they come up with! The elaborate settings for their photoshoots are just beyond words... I'm always tempted to write them a letter and say, "Could I just come by and take some outfits photos on that fabulous set you made?" Tee hee. Personally, I liked the chocolates that come with Valentine's Day, so I don't want to skip it - but if there was ever a reason to, this editorial is it!

Wow, these shots are certainly different. Funnily the first thing that came into my mind when seeing theses was "plastic" as they look so glossy and styled - in a good way. Have a lovely day, thanks for your sweet comment, I hope you're staying warm (soup recipe coming later today if you need it ;-) ) xo
ReplyDeleteSince I have actually been enjoying the winter, no, I am not quite ready for Easter yet, but I always adore the colours! This editorial is beautiful and I love the styling. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Kim!! I'm back after a little break, and LOVE this photo shoot and how slightly twisted it is. Although that bunny head could definitely be a little scary in the right light haha :-)
ReplyDeleteHope you had a fabulous festive break with your family!

Those are marvellous...I love the one of her with the dolls, that's my favourite!! I think I would see these covers from across the street, I love the brightness, so fun and needed just now! I love Easter anyways...so I don't mind skipping ahead, ha!! The last one is too funny as well, laying there after eating everything, so funny! I hope you have a sweet day doll! Stay warm - Hugs

ReplyDeleteYeah, there's good & bad things about boxes! But I like the monthly thrill of not knowing what you'll get...:D It's exciting! And that way I can try out new products I wouldn't try normally because they're out of my comfort zone or whatever. Btw, you can call me Valerie :) (if you like)
Now that is one cool photo spread. Although the photo with all the dolls is a little creepy, lol! Heather
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of this magazine before. It definitely has a Stepford Wives vibe...slightly creepy, haha!
