No! I didn't buy a new car! My car is 8 years old and PAID! hahaha I try and hold onto a car for a really long time. I hate car notes. Before I purchased my Lexus, I drove a hand me down and 2 new Mazdas. hahaha I love my Lexus SUV and I love the service at Lexus. While I was waiting, I thought I would snap a few pics to show you.
They have the BEST snacks while you wait! Fruit, muffins, freshly baked cookies, orange juice, apple juice, water, yogurt, espresso, coffee...they even have bags of pretzels and cheese crackers. I love the amenities. Plus they have a number of waiting areas, where you can watch tv and even rent an iPad. So cool!
This is part of the snack area and the bathrooms (i swear) look like a 5 star hotel. They wash your car after every service and even send you an email letting you know when your car is ready. Ohhhh, my car is ready! It looks good for 8 years old huh? I thanked Lexus on Twitter yesterday, because they truly did a fabulous job and treat you well whether your car is brand spanking new or older like mine.
I then headed to Old Navy. They had a pair of sandals online that I was interested in, but I wanted to see them in person and see if there was any padding. There was! I hate walking on cardboard. hahaha I didn't get them because the store only carries up to a size 10! I wear an 11! Hey, I'm 6'1". That's why I shop online! hahaha Old Navy is an inexpensive store, but you can find a lot of cool things there. A lot of my summer stuff came from there last year. I'm not investing in a lot of expensive items as far as clothes, because I want to lose weight and it's been fluctuating. Not sure about the braided sandals. They might make my foot look bigger. LOL
Speaking of weight! I threw my running shoes away this past Christmas. hahaha They were old. I was suppose to get some new ones and guess what...It's MARCH! I truly want to start exercising again and I've been buying ALL this other stuff and putting my health on the side. So I swung by Academy and started looking. Do you know the difference between a walking and running shoe? I ended up buying a Nike trail (traction & cushioning) running shoe. A little over $50. I loved the light pink ones in the picture (1st ones on the top), but I wasn't spending $125 for them. LOL I spend goob gobs on beauty, but THEN I get conservative when buying athletic wear. Go figure! Oh gosh, look how pale my legs are!!! They need some tanner! LOL I didn't even bring any socks. hahaha
Ok, so this post is a little different from what I usually do, but I don't have anything else today. HaHaHa
Hi Kim! I felt closer to you dear by reading this post. thanks for bringing us in your life!

Hi sweets, whaaaat I nearly fainted when I saw the size of the shoestore - here in Denmark most things are (like the country) small and dainty. I always love going to the supermarkets abroad - the selections are so vast. Here we have 2 shelves for (all) cereals - everywhere else - 2 aisles ha ha. thanks for your post and have a lovely day,
ReplyDeleteAxx
Wow - sounds like Lexus really have a great understanding of customer service! X
ReplyDeleteIt was lovely to spend a day of your life with you - really enjoyed this post. :)

Running errands? I don’t think so because it seems to be a shopping spree.
ReplyDeleteThis post made me smile, Kim - no matter what you share, you always bring your signature enthusiasm and good humour, and that's what really counts :) And my goodness girl, I am blown away by the fact that you are 6'1"! {And I might add, just a little jealous.} Take it from a girl whose driver's license says 5'2" and who still has to climb shelves to reach things at the grocery store, you are lucky! {Although I admit, not so much in the buying runners department... mine all still come from the kids section, which is so much cheaper!}

Wow those snacks look delicious and I want some of them, also you have nice car.
ReplyDeletehaha, Kim, you're the only blogger I know that can make a post on errands really fun. :) First of all, I think I need to own a Lexus next, I can't believe the snack bar, it's usually vending machines at car dealerships. And the way they wash your car and email you is so nice. You need to send them this post so you get some discounts in the future. LOL. AND I love those sandals (I wish there was an Old Navy in Europe because I'd go). I know what you mean about braided sandals, I never get that kind because I'm size 9 and feel like my feet and toes look huge. Fun post and love your new running shoes too. Hot pink is my fave!! ~xoDale
ReplyDeletei actually love this post...it was nice to hear about YOU :)
ReplyDeletewhat a super spread at lexus! i have never seen this at any of our service places! they usually just offer to drop you off and pick you up wherever you want to go!

ReplyDeleteI never realized you were so tall! Even though I have really small feet, we both have the same problem in that I can almost never find shoes in the store. Thank goodness for online shopping!

Kim, I actually really enjoyed this post about how you spent your day. It was getting to see your car and your fun footwear purchases. I'm so impressed that you've had your car for 8 yrs. It looks like you've taken good care of it.
ReplyDeleteHehe I'm just eating my way around NYC ;-) You know after I had that Marie Antoinette macaron, I wished I had bought the entire box but I really wanted the Reed Krakoff box this time. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Oz movie with me. Only one of my friends liked it. The other two said the same thing you did about the story lacking depth.
Aw love this! Looks like a great day :)

I really like how those sandals were two toned, that is a cool design element I wouldn't traditionally look for in a shoe! Good luck with your goals, you are such a go-getter and I know you can achieve whatever you put your mind to! Look how successful your blog has come in such a short time! I sincerely admire you and wish you the best!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I bought grey and pink nikes to wear to work and have worn them every day since, so comfortable!

Hi Kim! It was nice to read your day!:) Seems you had a nice time, believe your car is really great!:) Kisses dear!! xo
ReplyDeleteWhoa your dealership has amazing amenities!
ReplyDeleteI also know you can do whatever you set your mind on! Running shoes have a lip/textured outsole on the toe area (for when runners have to bend down for the start line). I ran track in high school. Even though I don't run anymore, I do like to keep fit not only to feel comfortable in my clothes, but to be healthy in the long term.
