As mentioned in my previous post, it was my mom's birthday when we went to Vegas in 2011. I wanted her to have a birthday cake, despite not being "home". After searching the web, I found Freed's Bakery. I really liked the fact that they would deliver to my hotel room (The Venetian) for a small fee. That's amazing! So I picked out the style of cake I wanted from their Facebook page (they have a vast selection on their website), placed the order over the phone with a Freed's representative and paid for it as well.
When I arrived in Vegas, I called Freed's Bakery and gave them my room number. They added that information to my order. Freed's delivered the cake on time, the cake was beautifully decorated and it was THE BEST tasting cake I have EVER had. That says a lot, because we have really good food and bakeries here in New Orleans. HaHaHa FYI, the cake was chocolate with butter cream icing. The silver ribbon, dice, and cards were non-edible but everything else was. For my older readers, I've shown this cake before, but since I seem to be doing an unexpected Vegas week, this week I wanted to document it properly (many of you mentioned you're thinking about going. hope these posts help). This is not a sponsored post. I just really like Freed's and highly recommend them. Do you have a favorite bakery in YOUR area? Let me know!
The cake looks so delicious, and the details so cute! Here in Lima is known as "Tortas Gaby" if you ever visit Lima :)

Ah man, this cake looks spectacular! I need to do some exploring of shops in my town, seeing as how I can't even think of a single bakery that I go to. There was a place called the Cupcake that I always meant to visit but then it shut down before I went :(

Gorgeous cake! We're going to Vegas this weekend for our anniversary. I'm thinking of hitting them up for a cake!
ReplyDeleteWe love our local Busy Bee's Bakery. They did my wedding cake and my husband custom ordered a birthday cake for me last year.
Hi sorry I have not visited you for a while but I was traveling and busy. I love Vegas. Have been there twice. If I do go again def. will check this place out.

What a gorgeous cake! :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha, that cake so fits in with what you said yesterday! Totally OTT and Bling - I guess you just have to take it all for what it is and smile about it. :-) Have a lovely day, we finally have some warm weather here, yippee!!! xo
ReplyDeleteWhat a cake! And such a bonus that it actually tasted good - in my experience, the more decorations are on top of a cake, the harder the bakery is trying to hide that it doesn't taste that good. Back in Vancouver, we have an amazing cake shop called Black Rook Bakery... they make traditional cakes with an unusual spin, like a carrot cake-cheesecake. And everything is always fresh and delicious. Oh Kim, now I'm craving cake!
