Bridesmaiddresses should be chosen so that they create harmony with the bridal gown, instead of contrast and differences. For example, if the bride decides on a dress which reminds people of retro times, then it would probably best to look for outfits with similar tones for the accompanying ladies. The bridal gown comes first and bridesmaid dress comes second. That’s an unwritten rule, which has to be respected.
Deciding on the style of the dress, the length, shape and color might be tricky. However, when knowing exactly what you’re looking for, this could be like child play. A vintage themed wedding will imply appearances with characteristic elements such as floor length, classy materials and accessories and elegant color palettes. In this case, the bridesmaids might wear dresses which are reminiscent of Audry Hepburn’s style. Knee length gowns can be an option because they might match more styles and body shapes as opposed to floor length outfits which require slim and slender figures. Depending on the season when the event takes places, dresses with or without sleeves prove to be just as beautiful and flattering provided that all options are explored before making a decision.

They're nice dresses. I always like a bit of dark blue, obviously depending on the whole colour scheme. xo
ReplyDeleteSome gorgeous styles here and you would definitely wear them again :)
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty choices Kim - the nude ones are especially chic xo
ReplyDeleteOoh, these dresses are very pretty, not just for bridesmaid duty!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely selection of dresses... although I must say, I am so glad that I don't have to go through the torture of bridemaid dress shopping for my own wedding ever again. It's not much better for someone else's wedding, come to think of it ;) If I had it to do over, I think I would elope! Ha ha, I'm only half-kidding. My girls all did look beautiful when they did finally have their dresses :)
ReplyDeletexox,

ReplyDeleteThe nude dresses are really beautiful. My sister is getting married this fall and we are trying to decide on the dress length right now. We know the color is purple though :) Weddings are so fun! Heather
ReplyDeleteLove the collection. They definitely don't look like your typical bridesmaid gowns, but they are really beautiful. Love that last dress the best!

I like your selection and these are dresses which could obviously be worn again on another occasion. In fact, I would happily wear the nude dress in the middle of the second row next weekend!

Excellent post. I love the nude colored dresses. What a great idea. I would never have thought of nude.
ReplyDeleteI will be a bridesmaid for my brother's wedding in July.
ReplyDeleteI am not thrilled about the dress - and I just hope it matches the rest of the venue.
I really like your picks-
Hi Kim! These bridesmaid dresses are all so nice! My fav is the first one:) Kisses dear! xo
ReplyDeleteWonderful Post <3
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Dresses!
kisses :)
Love these dresses, I actually own the blue and white one! I'm not sure I agree with the advice, though - as a bride I wanted my matrons of honor to look and feel their best. I wasn't a bit worried that they could 'outshine' me in any way.
ReplyDeleteI've never been a bridesmaid but I was recently asked to be one. I don't have any details of anything since she is still in planning mode but I'm anxious to see what parts of the process will be like what I hear vs. what I truly experience! =) I didn't have a traditional wedding experience so I hope my ladies didn't feel "stereotyped" =)

ReplyDeletei've never been a bridesmades as the wedding traditions in morocco are very different but that was quite an insightful article! :)
ReplyDeleteLoved this Kim I truly learned some new things esp about the unwritten rule about the styles being similar to the bride's dress!! I really enjoyed it!!
ReplyDeleteHi dear, how are you? Love this idea for a post, the dresses are beautiful as well as very appropriate.
ReplyDeleteThese are very pretty bridesmaid dresses. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAll of these dresses are beautiful. My favorite is the first dress in the second roll. I can definitely see these dresses being worn numerous times.
ReplyDeleteThese are some of the prettiest bridesmaid dresses I have seen, ones you would actually want to wear again! My favourite is the navy blue one shoulder with the embellishments, gorgeous!
ReplyDeletePretty options here. When I got married, I picked out a certain line and color, and let my bridesmaids each pick out a dress that the felt suited them.
ReplyDeleteAs a wedding planner, I was so happy to see these selections. why? They look like dresses I or any bridesmaid could wear at anytime! I wish more brides would consider these options when asking their friends to plunk down $200 plus on a dress, which many can never wear again. Great post for sure.
