I went to New Orleans City Hall yesterday. Yes, that's the place where you pay taxes (unless you're going to e-file your return), apply for permits...blah blah blah. What's it called in your country? I love the outside! It's surrounded by beautiful palm trees, a gazebo, flowers and benches. The building itself is very old! The people are nice, but the building is bland. HaHaHa Think beige, black and marble! So I decided to be a chameleon and wear the same colors:a khaki pencil skirt, black top, black cross body bag and black ballet flats. Did I blend in? HaHaHa Government buildings can look so serious and clinical! I think New Orleans should elect me as mayor! I have some great ideas. I would turn this city into Willy Frickin Wonka Land! Cupcake lamp posts, chocolate bar streets, gumdrop trees, the possibilities are endless! Vote For Kimmy! HaHaHa >.<
Beige and Black! Beige and Black! HaHaHa
Are your government buildings like this? Or do they have more color?
Have a great weekend!
Already following you on bloglovin Kim.. Lovely pics.. Enjoyed reading your post dear :-)

Oh wow it doesn't look like the best place to wait! And they always make you wait in government buildings, haha!
ReplyDeleteAt least you blended in with your neutral outfit :)
I'm so sad google reader is going too :(
Away From Blue
I read this on Bloglovin :). You are so cute in the pic of you in this post. Unless they are fancy historical ones, government buildings are probably boring all over the world :)
ReplyDeleteI have to tell you, New Orleans City Hall doesn't look at all the way I expected it would! I had something much more French and imperial in mind, I don't know why exactly ;) Nonetheless, it looks like it does have a certain 1940s charm to it... although that might just be me, I'm a bit of an architecture nerd!
ReplyDeletexox,
Cee
That's a lot of marble for a city hall! Very impressive. I really like it when you take us on little trips like this - such a wonderful way to see the place and get a feel of it.

Am following you there doll, transferred all the blogs I read into bloglovin a while ago to make it easier.Your city hall looks different than I thought it would. I think I've been in the one here once, haha. I will have to take pictures of it soon. I'll take a pic of the courthouse here as well, you will flip when you see what it looks like, hahahaha! Have a gorgeous weekend doll!! xx
ReplyDeleteYou know in Copenhagen/ Denmark our main town hall is made out of RED brick and looks very cool, and old. But we do have concrete monstrosities too - and with nicotine colored walls and drab interiors ha ha.
ReplyDeleteFollowing you pretty much everywhere love ;-) Happy weekend love,
Ax
Lovely pics, Kim!!! You look fab--and I adore that purse!!! I had no idea that Google Reader was going bye-bye. I will be sure and get another reader installed as I have to have my "A Very Sweet Blog" fix whenever it's available! xo T. http://tickledpinkwoman.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI love that your mind even thinks this way Kim - if you have to visit a boring building, dress in the same colors :) That makes me smile. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeletexo Mary Jo
most of our government buildings look like that, but some are so pretty and ornate...you can tell they were built many years ago!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim! I will vote for you for sure since I love Willy Wonka, lol Kimmy Major sounds great!:P In Italy city hall is called "municipio" and let me say that in my city isnt as much impressive as yours! You look adorable and I like your blended colors matching! Nice bag!:) Happy Friday and weekend dear, kisses! xo
ReplyDeleteGosh...the outside of your city hall looks soooo purrrty:) And yes....Kim for mayor. You could run as our mayor too. I would love to live in Willy Wonka Land!

The Tiny Heart
Yes I think you will do a good job as Mayor. Ha;)
ReplyDeletewww.thoughtsofpaps.com
You'd be awesome mayor Kim :) I think it's fun how your government buildings are surrounded by palm tress and gazebos. I actually live right by City Hall in NYC and it's nice but probably less scenic. And alot of productions are filmed around there because they love the look of the dramatic staircase of the main court house. I think it's probably featured most prominently in Law & Order.
ReplyDeleteHave a fab weekend doll!

Mrs. Mayor of Candyland you look very pretty and chic in that ensemble. Our government buildings look different depending on the city: in my city they are old and musty!!

ReplyDeleteOH WOW LOOKS LIKE A RESORT LOL
ReplyDeleteSo chic! your outfit is sophisticated!
ReplyDeletewww.urbanikamoda.blogspot.com
Hi Kim, you are tres chic! I have a feeling most town/city halls are like this, ours certainly promotes the bland shades of beige and brown, however our provincial government building in the next city from me was recently designed, it looks like a Tuscan villa..on steroids, they spent millions on it and initially everyone assumed it was some sort of 5 star hotel. Maybe theres hope after all.
ReplyDeleteyou look cute and love your post about the building!! i'm already following you on every site haha :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha, oh man, you've got my vote Kim! ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd I've been following you on Bloglovin for a while now

Yes you should definitely be elected mayor! I just know you'd have the best ideas. Totally agree about the look of government. It is so sweet that you decided to colour coordinate.
ReplyDeleteHahaha Let me know if you get the position and I would move there for sure, I would love to live in cupcakeland!
ReplyDeleteYou look really pretty and so does the building.
Valencia's city hall is also very old but really charming and pretty I will publish about it someday.

Great pics, thanks for sharing! Enjoy your Sunday XXX
ReplyDeleteWell, I am Belgian so there are many many governments :-p Walking into the Flemish government buildings gives a very different feel than the federal ones. Some of these federal buildings date way back, while the some of the Flemish government buildings are pretty recent. But I'm most often to be found around the European Union buildings in Brussels and Strasbourg and in these they try to include a lot of plants and art work to. Not only black and beige. White and blue too :-D

ReplyDeleteLittlePinkRainBoots.blogspot.com

Chic 'n Cheap Living
where are you, kim?? can't see you...you blend in with your surroundings! haha. most of ours are the same especially on the outer islands. they have brand new buildings, huge and nice and clean, but so vanilla!
ReplyDeleteAlways following you... lol. That sounded creepy. Haha. Wish our city halls here are this clean and tidy.
ReplyDelete(^^,)
They should totally elect you as a Mayor in New Orleans! I like your imagination blue print =D
ReplyDeleteOurs is called a Town Council. I try to avoid going there at all. It's not the most well lit and the buildings are old. People there does things really slow. If there are 10 counters, only 3 will be open and the rest...well..I guess they must be taking turns to go on a long break. Heh!
