"What a spectacular dress!" I must have repeated that sentence at least fifty times this weekend. Princess Madeleine of Sweden (30) married New York banker Christopher O'Neill (38) in Stockholm, Sweden this weekend (June 8, 2013). It was a gorgeous Royal Wedding and Valentino Garavani (81) designed her dress. I've always loved Valentino. He is a quintessential master designer! The wedding dress had small vertical pleats that emphasized her waist, a four meter long train, six meter long veil embroidered with Chantilly lace flowers and her tiara was adorned with fresh orange blossoms (source). I thought she looked exquisite from head to toe. I loved her earrings, hair, simple bouquet and I also loved the lightness of her wedding dress. She looked as if she could walk on air. Just heavenly! What are your thoughts on the wedding?

I didn't watch so much of the wedding, but the dress was really spectacular! Everything about it was just perfect. Happy Monday to you!
ReplyDeleteMy mum (who is a royalist :) watched the whole wedding (we were there, so I saw bits too:) and we swooned over the dress Madeleine wore, but also the other dresses from the other ladies. I thought her sister Victoria looked stunning too. Happy Monday lovely Kim, hope you have a swoon-worthy one:0)

Stunning dress. I didn't watch any of this wedding...though I rarely do watch anything to do with celebrities and such. Love the train of it, so splendid. I always love what the men wear really, reminds me of Cinderella, hahah! Hope you had a gorgeous weekend doll & your new week is brilliant xx
ReplyDeleteI thought she looks stunning. my cousin and a few friends watched the wedding and I only caught glimpses. Beautiful ceremony. Enjoy your Monday dear! xx/Madison

What an absolutely stunning dress, indeed - I love that a man of Valentino's age is still designing and still creating such absolutely spectacular, and thoroughly modern {at least as far as royal wedding dresses are concerned} gowns! Madeleine looked so beautiful and graceful. I'm not much a fan of real life princesses, but the natural elegance and beauty of Sweden's youngest princess cannot be denied :)

You just said everything about this wedding dress, Valentino is a genius when it comes to designing. The bride looks flawless and magical. Love it. You always come up with unique posts. Great!!!!
ReplyDeleteShe looked lovely! It's not the kind of dress I'd personally wear, but it's a very pretty dress nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteIt's so romantic!!!! She is pure beauty, so delicate and sophisticated. Like in a fairy tale!

So sweet and lovely. I love the bodice.
ReplyDeleteOkay, normally I don't care too much for overly fancy wedding dresses, but this one is beyond beautiful! I feel like the front is simple enough, it fits her well and the lace really stands out because it is not like she is covered in it. The back is all BOO-YA! Awesome.
ReplyDeleteuhm YES. That dress is so exquisite! And her veil is MAGNIFIQUE!

What a beautiful illustration! I loved that dress as well and she's so beautiful! I'm happy that she's finally having a happy ending - I read this weekend that her previous fiancé cheated on her and the engagement was called off just days before the wedding. Real princesses have troubles as well!
ReplyDeleteI think they looked very happy and enamored. And many other royalties wore wonderful gowns as well.
Have a lovely week, Kim!

P.S. I've got a giveaway goin' on my blog!
I...would.. DIE to wear that gorgeous valentino dress! Heck, I would die to wear anything valentino. Although, my biggest fear with wedding dresses is that someone would accidentally step on the long train and rip off the dress. That would be so awkward. My husband almost did that during our wedding dance.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I feel super stupid, but I have never heard of this princess Madeleine of Sweden. She is so gorgeous!!
