Hole-y Doughnuts!!! The famous candy shop, Dylan's Candy Bar, in New York City is now selling doughnuts. They're $4 each and only being sold at their flagship store (1011 Third Avenue) as of right now. Dylan Lauren, the founder (aka Ralph Lauren's daughter), has topped off the famous pastry with candy, cookies and cereal (Yes! Like Cap'n Crunch and Fruity Pebbles). Lauren states, "I am obsessed with our new line of candy inspired donuts because they
are scrumptious and merge the best of candies, cookies and my favorite
cereals.” Have you seen her figure? I know she's not woofing down these caloric babies! HaHaHa Take a look at the names below. (source)(source)
Do you like doughnuts? I only eat them once or twice a year. Every time I look at one, I think about ALL of the calories in just ONE. HaHaHa I like looking at them, more than eating them. When I do purchase them, I usually just get glazed with chocolate on top or Beignets (locally for New Orleans). I really prefer croissants and scones to these sweet treats. Do you know what else is interesting? Wikipedia lists how doughnuts vary by country/region. It's an interesting read. Many countries fill them with various local ingredients. What are doughnuts like in YOUR country? Are they called something differently? I put together a board for you below, of some non-caloric doughnut finds! Ok, there are some cookies, but I bet they don't have NEARLY the amount of calories as those doughnuts. HaHaHa You guys have a great day!

How fun is that iPhone case by Laura? haha, I always just sit back and drool over how good everything looks, even though I don't/can't eat it. It's very interesting how different each region creates their own version of the doughnut. :)/Madison
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, this is tempting! It's too bad they only have them at the flagship store!!

I have to admit that I find it a bit nauseatingly excessive - just too much. I'm very happy with a simple jam doughnut with a bit of sugar on top, a classic I suppose. Have a lovely start to the week xo
ReplyDeleteI agree with Carole, jam doughnut with sugar on top - YUM. Once bought a whole packet of Krispy Creme doughnuts (12 of those) since then I can't eat them - was a bit excessive I guess ha ha. But it sure looks good. Happy Monday love,
ReplyDeleteA
I bet those candy topped donuts are a crazy, tasty treat!
ReplyDeleteI've seen Dylan Lauren and she definitely doesn't look like she eats a lot of sweets! I've had Mr. Donut donuts (Japanese brand) and they were similar and tasty too!

Hiya doll!! These are gorgeous and so yummy!! I wouldn't mind a trip into this place. I'd come out a little bigger for sure, hahaha!! The phone cover is too precious, love that!! I hope you have a great week ahead doll :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks really cool. We love donuts here. Especially glazed ones.

Gosh, I just noticed she does a fruity pebbles one...I miss fruity pebbles, that was my cereal!! Hahaha!! I need to take a trip!! ;-D
ReplyDeleteLike you, I only indulge in these goodies a few times a year (Generally, it's when DD has their red cake donuts available around the holiday season). This post is very synchronistic as I'm donning (pretty much) Ralph Lauren today--head to toe! xo T. http://tickledpinkwoman.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI love the its always donught time picture :) they are one of the best dessert snacks ever
ReplyDeleteYummm, I love doughnuts! It was soo good there used to be a Krispy Kreme near the office, we would always get them for morning tea :) Those were the days! :)

Mmm, I love doughnuts. I used to eat them so much on the weekends as a kid and that had to eventually stop lol. Dylan's is one of my favorite candy stores in the world so I'm so happy you posted this. They have them here in Switzerland called the same thing, but I always splurge on crossaints. Great post Kim...have you posted on cronuts yet? I keep hearing about them

I love your pick of the non-caloric ones:D My kids love donuts, although not a big fan myself. Now that I'm on the Dukan diet, it's even more of a no-no! I do remember eating Krispy Kremes, and boy, I inhaled one of those things.
ReplyDeleteI'm not usually a doughnut girl, but that PBJ one looks good....
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, I prefer Munchkins (known as doughnut holes elsewhere) from Dunkin Donuts over actual doughnuts. YUM!
ReplyDeletealways, koru kate
omg Kim, my mouth is wateringggg!!!! I don't like doughnuts, but these look so so so yummy!
ReplyDeleteMmm those donuts look SO delicious! I don't eat them often either but I looove the pumpkin or apple cider ones in the fall. :)

I'm with you Kim and only eat doughnuts aboyt once or twice a yea. Actually I take a bite and then pass it onto my hubby to finish ;) They are delicious but I also like looking at them more. Chinese donuts can be covered with sugar or have a savory filling with meat. The savory version is quite yummy. It's def. safer on the waistline to go for a donut inspired goody like the ones in your roundup. I'm amazed at how realistic the soaps look.
ReplyDeleteHave a fab week babe!

Hi Kim! I am so addicted to donuts, oh my just browsing all the flavors and I am drooling over them all, wish Dylan's Candy Bar was also here! Actually, here in Italy only recently some places start to sell them but before they werent. I ate my first on in Canada in fact!:) Btw, your finds are so cute, love the wall clock and the soaps. Kisses dear, have a great start of the week! xo
ReplyDeleteoh I love all this stuff Kim, they look yummy :P I love Krispy Creme and dunkin donuts. but yes they are very high on calories but they worth eating :P
ReplyDeleteWhoa. Now I reallly want to go.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the iPod case btw.
I'm not mad about doughnuts. Dunkin Doughnuts are probably the only fast food outlet that actually failed in Glasgow, where I lived throughout my teens!
ReplyDeleteNice :D but I´m really hungry now :D I follow you right now in Google Friend; take a look to my blog and said me what do you think about it and follow back? :) KelaTaconea

Good lord, that's a helluva lot of candy on those doughnuts! ;) I love doughnuts, and when it's that time of the month, I cannot be stopped! I must have one or two! haha. Her doughnuts look too decadent for me though. Too sweet!
ReplyDeleteps. Thanks for including my doughnut case!
Argh this is making me drool all over my laptop Kim!

Just *thinking* about these are killing! As if donuts weren't deadly enough haha! I definitely would rather wear a KSNY sweater with a donut on it rather than scarf a few down. I only have them every once & a while (they've become popular in my office so sometimes I give in) but otherwise, I could live a donut-free life if I had to haha!

I am not a huge doughnut person but with a place like this hmmm an occasional splurge is definitely in order! And oh wow this is almost walking distance from my office uh oh.

I love glazed donuts but there is just too much guilt in each delicious bite. I love the Kate Spade items, and I'm also eyeing some donut-shaped school supplies to sate my craving.

I don't live in NY but I would love to get my hands on that Cap'n Crunch donut. But I know there is a place just like this in Florida. So there might be an equally good place in your neck of the woods as well.

My kids go mad for donuts!! Have a great week Kim:)

Doughnuts are definitely a weakness for me. These look fabulous! But there's just no way I'd spend $4 on ONE.
ReplyDeletePS - I checked Bloglovin & my blog is on there but I couldn't figure out how to see who's following it.. jenplusjohn.blogspot.com Maybe try searching for it again? (I don't know if something changed when I went private & now it doesn't show up?)
I love doughnuts, I've never eaten any this sweet but they look so yummy! :)
ReplyDeleteYour irony makes me smile wide :-) In Italy that kind of fried pastry is popular during carnival, in the form of round pastries filled with cream/chocolate/marmalade and sprinkled with icing sugar. However some places have recently become selling doughnuts along with the most common croissants that you find in cafeterias for breakfast. I'm not a fan of doughnuts - calories aside - I'd rather have a huge slice of torta millefoglie. Big hugs Kimmie dear!

Hi Kim, I bet Dylan's Donuts are beautiful and delicious but at $4 each is quite outrageous. How can she sell a donut at that price? I can only shake my head! Beignets from New Orleans are delicious, that I will try. It is nice to try them once in a while.
ReplyDeleteLove it the bag, :)

OMG donuts and I have such a love-hate relationship. They TASTE SO GOOD when I'm eating them... and then afterwards I just feel awful- like on the verge of diabetes awful & nauseous. These donuts look so good though! My favorites are the jelly filled ones.

Hi Kim, I love doughnuts! I actually like all doughnuts but I can't eat the ones that they sell at the supermarkets (like Safeway) anymore. Haha. I have to have the expensive ones. We have some really good ones here too.

These doughnuts look so good, but cereal? I'd definitely give it a try. Last Saturday at my supermarket you could buy doughnuts that had been dipped in chocolate (the whole thing was encased in lovely chocolate), and inside, it was cakey with chocolate cake marbled through. I bought one for my son and drooled while he was eating it. He let me have the last bite, it was sooo good. It's definitely a sometimes food but if they have them next Saturday, there won't be any holding me back :D. If I ever get to New York, I'll be sure to seek out Dylan's Candy Bar.

I do love a good jam donut, but not so much the ones with lots of sprinkles and toppings.
ReplyDeleteI bet Dylan Lauren has an awesome life. My favorite donut is a maple bar topped with bacon from Portland, Oregon's Voodoo Donuts. But I can only eat half before I don't feel good about myself!
ReplyDeleteOooohhh this is the first time I see a blue doughnut in honor of Cookie Monster. lol. And I was ready to eat number 4 on your list until I read those were soaps... Hahahaha.
ReplyDelete(^o^)
i think a pb&j doughnut sounds absolutely delicious!!
ReplyDeleteI do like donuts every once in a while, I always go for something white chocolate. These sound really yum but too rich. Love the cute donut inspired pieces you picked out.
ReplyDeleteI love donoughts!!

You know, I've never ever had a proper doughnut! Ever. I simply believe that the only place to try them is the States. Here they don't even look right. x
