Day 2 - Milan Fashion Week S/S 2014
There was something to love from each collection on Day 2 of Milan Fashion Week, but I'll only list my favorites. Let's start with Prada! Their theme was street art, which reflected in their backdrop & designs. I must say, I didn't particularly care for the collection (covering my head). I had to look past the leg warmers and bra's-on-top-of-clothes to see if I liked anything. Prada is an over the top brand and requires a certain palette. I did like four pieces from the collection and included them below. For the record, I'm a minimalist, so I prefer (smaller extravagant accessories) Prada handbags, shoes, eyeglasses over their clothes. I did LOVE Fendi! Gorgeous geometric designs, colored metallics and beautiful color made up this collection. Max Mara also showed off some colorful monochromatic designs. Blugirl and Kate Spade must've collaborated with one another when designing their collections! They both had a LEMON, citrus color theme. It's a cute collection for young ladies. I wasn't impressed with Just Cavalli. A jacket here. A skirt there. It was flower-y and kind of skitter scatter. There were a couple of pieces I liked, so I hesitantly included them below. Honestly I was less than impressed with the collection. Just Cavalli always comes across cheap to me. My FAVORITE collections of the day were designers I never heard of before Anteprima, Daniela Gregis, and Ports. Each were minimalistic and simplistic (right up my alley). I felt these collections were DIVINE and would scoop them up in a minute. What are your thoughts?
Prada
Anteprima
Fendi
Max Mara
Daniela Gregis
Ports
Blugirl
Just Cavalli
Love this fantastic compilation! Another great summarry of an immense fashion show

Haha bras over clothes. I like the Blugirl 60s style outfits and the Just Cavalli pants. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend Kim!sparkle2day.com
ReplyDeleteHahaha I know what you mean with Prada. I sometimes really just don't "get" the outfits and clothes from the big name designers. But the accessories, now the accessories I can usually find something! :)
ReplyDeleteAway From The Blue
I loved the colours at Fendi! So pretty :)
ReplyDeleteOh, the Fendi collection looks just fabulous! I love the combination of blue and orange. Have a really great Friday, darling!
ReplyDeleteI can find something I like in all of these collections....but I can also find stuff I don't like in these collections, haha. The metallic pieces are quite cool :)) Super super. I hope you have a fab Friday doll!! xx
ReplyDeleteP.S. I just noticed that if you looked at the Daniela Gregis collection from the bottom to the start, it almost looks like colour has been added over a time lapse, it's quite interesting. I like the all red dresses in that collection :)
ReplyDeleteThe Blugirl looks really appeal to me. They have that kind of sixties vibe.
ReplyDeleteOoh all the pictures are so pretty and your blog is simply gorgeous!

More great stuff, here! My faves are Fendi, Daniela Gregis and Ports. Have a fab weekend!!! xo T. http://tickledpinkwoman.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI love your honesty with the collections rather than the all out 'fab' views that some blogs share. For me Max Mara definitely caught my eye. I've been getting more and more drawn the brand of late with the classic shapes and clean lines.

ReplyDeleteI love Blue Girl!
ReplyDeleteHahaha. I know what you mean about the bras-over-clothes thing. Hehe. Gold Coat, I-Can-Barely-See Bangs, Red Lace, Blue Silk and Gradient Dresses? I love it! Have a great weekend!

Hi Kim! I agree with your choices. Fendi suprised me this time (I didnt like the previously in particular): the new is bold and I like the lines. But my ever fav is Blugirl, to die for! I found it so romantic and feminine, the kind of clothes would love to wear right now. Also Anteprima, Ports and Max Mara are really beautiful. Happy Friday dear, kisses! xo
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous! Wish I was there!
ReplyDeleteMy dearest Kim, there isn´t a sweeter word to my ears than Milan Fashion week, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Have never been a big fan of Just Cavalli either, as it always seem to me like a Versace clone.
ReplyDeleteI do love the Prada collection, and the Ports one is also pretty nice.
Another day of gorgeous shows! I've never heard of Anteprima but I'm definitely a fan now and Fendi never disappoints. Thanks for putting this together Kim! Happy weekend!

Just some amazing collections here,
ReplyDeleteI am spoilt for choice! xx Love you to check out my blog xx
Thanks for the updates on MFW Kim! Loving Anteprima, Blugirl and Fendi here, not too sure how I feel about Prada yet, although I know no matter what, it will still be a trendsetting collection. Thanks for your kind words. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteFendi is definitely my fave!
ReplyDeleteChic on the Cheap
When it comes to Milan Fashion Week, Max Mara is one of my great weaknesses. I love it for different reasons than I love Luisa Beccaria and Alberta Ferretti. The Max Mara designs are always so wearable and yet beautifully high fashion, I can't help but fall in love. And imagine all the ways I would wear them. They were my day two favourite, no doubt about it. As for Prada, as much as I absolutely admire Miuccia Prada as a person, as a woman and as a designer, her collections are never my favourite. Miu Miu, however, is a different story :)

Hmm no thanks to street art. Yes to the gorgeous cuts and prints at Fendi!

I loved Daniela Gregis too! I also agree on Prada and Cavalli: there's this Italian VIP who wears only Cavalli and I always think how cheap and mismatched her outfits are. On the other hand I like perfumes by Cavalli, especially Serpentine.

impressing!
ReplyDeleteAnother look at these, I'd like the Anteprima line, I like all the black and then the metallic materials used in the skirts...I would buy those :)) well...if I was rich, haha ;)
ReplyDeletePrada and Fendi are my favourites. Miuccia Prada is one of my favourite designers.
ReplyDeleteI like Fendi's quirkiness and colours! Of course, Prada's design is definitely outstanding. Blugirl's designs are fun and easy to accept on the street.
ReplyDeletethank you for the LFW summary..i saw them all..it is all black and white with a little bit of pastel here and there...i liked prada's collection the best.
ReplyDeletePrada's looking a little like Desigual.... i'd wear everything from Bluegirl. LOVE IT!
