It wasn't dull by ANY means! HaHaHa This was my first time watching London Fashion Week (LFW) from beginning to end. In the past, I would just look at some of the bigger names and call it a day. I'm glad I watched it all the way through this time. I learned about some fabulous new designers and experienced the P-A-R-T-Y. I must say LFW is crazy-outrageous! It's not cookie-cutter by any means. Anything goes! And I mean ANYthing! HaHaHa Well here are my picks. Let me know what you thought of LFW. Cheerio and on to Milan Fashion Week (starts TODAY)! MFW is September 18-23, 2013. Click
HERE for the schedule. Lots of BIG names on the list. I may have to do a day-by-day or every other day recap for Milan :). I can't wait to see the designs. See my NYFW favorites & picks
HERE. Have a great day everybody!
Burberry Prorsum
J JS Lee
Jasper Conran
Peter Pilotto - This London duo will be the next Target Collaboration for February 2014
Mulberry
Anya Hindmarch
Manolo Blahnik
Temperley
Christopher Kane
Michael Van Der Ham
Daks
Tom Ford
Christopher Raeburn
Maria Grachvogel
Julien MacDonald
Thanks for including Peter Pilotto Kim - I'd seen that on your instagram and hadn't heard of the brand before, haha.
ReplyDeleteThey have some lovely designs. :)
I've seen the second Burberry outfit in a full shot and it looks a little too odd and embellished for me - but like you said, it means it's definitely not boring and cookie-cutter! :)
Away From The Blue
You are so right, LFW is like fireworks! :) I am blogging about my favourites tomorrow, though I spotted them here, too. :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. Must admit, am not a huge fan of Jasper Conran - not because the clothes look bag, they are quite lovely, in fact, but boy, oh boy, I see Dolce&Gabbana (2d dress), I see Dior 2011 (2d dress 2d row... just to name a few...) ;)
Many new names to me as well and so many beautiful things! I really like the style of Christopher Bailey for Burberry, he does so many wonderful clothes! I love the pink strapless dress in the middle of the first row.
ReplyDeleteAnd I also like the sunny stripes of Jasper Conrad and the happy patterns favoured by so many designers!
Thanks for these updates, I'm looking forward to Miland and to Paris, my big favourite with Louis Vuitton and Stella McCartney :)
Have a great day xoxo
Wow! These pics run the gamut, and they're all great! The yellow stripes even (surprisingly) caught my eye (who knew?). Glad to see some pinkish hues on the fashion horizon. :) xo T. http://tickledpinkwoman.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThese are all stunning!! I do love Julien Macdonald...he's quite lovely as a person too & I love when he says 'Beautiful' it comes out 'bootiful' because of his gorgeous Welsh accent. I wouldn't mind any of his collection :))) Have a peachy day doll!
ReplyDeleteJasper Conran, Daks and Tom Ford are my favorites I think, lovely silhouettes! I like the tailored look.
ReplyDeleteAmazing collection. I want all the shoes over there.
ReplyDeleteI love all the yellows, reds and blues!
ReplyDeleteLoved your #LFW recap Kim. Being away I missed the beginning but this will serve as my cheat sheet. Great job doll!

Fabulous round up Kim - so much loveliness here!
ReplyDeleteSo many great looks!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim! You are very right! I've followed it too and it left me without words, truly fab! You did a brilliant and great job, I definitely love Mulberry, Daks, Temperly London (simply adore the gowns), Tom Ford and Burberry. Now I also look forward to the Milan fashion week, so curious to see all the collections! Have a lovely day dear, kisses! xo
ReplyDeleteI must admit I think I liked the LFW collections more than the NYFW just because of Mulberry and Christopher Kane's works...sigh...
ReplyDeleteIt looks like there will be a lot of pastel/neutral looking pieces coming out. Honestly I feel like most of the clothes in fashion week just wouldn't work for the average person, ya know? It's pretty to look at though!
ReplyDeleteShooooeeesss! lol. Sorry. And I looooove Maria Grachvogel and Julien MacDonald! Those dresses look soooo pretty and flowing and breezy and awesome!
ReplyDelete(^^,)
Oh look at all the beautiful Manolos, sigh!
ReplyDeleteSome of these designers I hadn't heard of before so thanks for the roundup!

The Jasper Conran is amazinggggg, so inspiring!
ReplyDeleteI often wish I could just pluck some of these looks from the pictures and just add them to my closet! I hope to be able to attend a Fashion Week in NYC or London one day!
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of Peter Pilotto until I saw the commercial re: their Target collab. Seeing their collection makes me excited to see what they bring to Target!
ReplyDeleteOooh Manolo...if only I could afford a pair of those shoes...
Do you follow A Fashion Love Affair? She's a Canadian fashion blogger. She was at NYFW, LFW and now she's in Milan. Kinda fun to see her perspective & dream (through her) of going to all those fabulous shows!
Those bags though! And the shoes! Thanks for posting them, I LOVE purses!
ReplyDeleteManolo Blahnik <3 I loveeee their shoes, one day I will have a pair!
ReplyDeleteThe last two are gorgeous! And yes, yes, yes to Jasper Conran and Daks too!
ReplyDeleteOh to Be a Muse
Shop Layered Muse
Oh, that JASPER is just fabulous. I think i would wear all of his clothes - just beautiful, wearable items.
ReplyDeleteI was just reading another article this morning that described the contrasts between NYFW ad LFW - NYFW is about designing clothes for everyday life, whereas LFW is about designing the clothes of your dreams. I think that summed it up perfectly! I'm more of an NFW, I admit, but the Temperley collection just blew me away. And I always love seeing what Tom Ford has up his sleeve :)
ReplyDeletexox,
Cee
i love the temperley and tom ford collections, and who doesn't like manolo??
ReplyDeleteFantastic LFW roundup Kim! The London shows are definitely bolder than NY and I think it's quite fab. I can't even pick a favorite but i was blown away by Temperley London, Christopher Kane, Mulberry, Julien MacDonald and Peter Pilotto! So excited that PP will be the next Target designer collab!
ReplyDeleteSneakers styles are way cuter these days. Your plan sounds awesome :)

I have to say that I really enjoyed seeing the fashion from LFW more than NYFW. It felt so luxurious and sophisticated in a different way than NYFW. If only I could wear more of the designs I saw! =)

ReplyDeleteThe Dragonfruit Diaries
Like you said, anything goes in these collections, although the colours seem muted most of the time, and there's nothing overly outrageous which is fine with me :D. Thanks for sharing bags and shoes too! Sounds like you're having a ball with these fashion shows. Keep having fun! sparkle2day.com

ReplyDeleteWow Kim - what a great post! You are absolutely right - there's a bit of everything here and I love all the macarons colours. So much to admire here from the glamour of Julien Macdonald to the fabulous neutrals from Maria Grachvogel. The all red Mulberry outfit is so striking (I don't have any red in my wardrobe but keep thinking about maybe red shoes!!)

ReplyDeleteHi Kim, I really like Luisa Beccaria and Angelo Marani! Thanks for the recap. Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! I'd love to ship you a box of moon cakes, maybe next year. Let me take note because it's a hassle to ship food across the border. Anyhow, make sure you take a look at the moon tonight and make a wish. :)

I agree that the Prada collection isn't very wearable. I get that they're going for a street style look but it looks a little crazy. :)
