Pumpkin Palooza

Get ready for a PUMPKIN fest this week on A Very Sweet Blog! Are you ready?
Note: None of the posts this week are sponsored. I'm including links, but I'm not being paid for them :)

Great American Cookies
After I enjoyed my Godiva milkshake, I stopped by Great American Cookies. Great American Cookies has been in existence since 1977. I remember getting cookies from them when I was a little girl. They have delicious, freshly-baked cookies, cookie cakes and brownies. I thought their Halloween treats were so cute and wanted to share them with you. Did I purchase any cookies? Hmm, maybe one or two...three or four! HaHaHa Ok, FULL DISCLOSURE! Their cookies are buy 5 get 1 FREE! I always go with the special. LOL >.< I'm so cutting back after Halloween.

Pottery Barn For Kids
I was on my way to Bath & Body Works, when the windows for Pottery Barn for Kids stopped me in my tracks. How cute are these Halloween costumes for little girls! That pumpkin dress is so frickin' cute! I think the white one is a fairy of some sort. They had the neatest costumes for children. I didn't look at the price tag though! HaHaHa I know they're pricey.

Bath and Body Works
What was at Bath & Body Works? These cute lamb slippers. I posted these on my instagram page. FYI - they run really small you guys :( so for those with small feet, get them before they're gone. Only $16.50 too!

I wanted to show you a couple of pics inside Lakeside Shopping Center. Due to our climate, we have lots of palm trees. So they've incorporated them in the decor (inside and outside) of the mall. They're really pretty. Stores are on both the left & right side of the mall and iron-wooden benches are in the middle. Something new! They've incorporated fountains in various spots. I thought they were very pretty. Large pumpkins and gourds were nestled throughout the surrounding greenery. There are benches all around these sunken spots. It was nice to sit and just listen to the water. Very peaceful. Just listen for yourself (Vine pic above) :) (hover around the top left of the Vine pic & click on the red X)

Lakeside decorates every holiday! There's usually a little train for the kiddies, picture taking, and over-sized decorations. There were pumpkins galore! I thought you guys would get a kick out of this. CHOO-CHOO! I wouldn't be able to fit one foot in that train. HaHaHa Isn't it funny, when you're a child you cry because you don't want to get on the ride (at least I did) and then when you're older you can't fit! LMAO Go Figure! >.<

Romeo! Romeo! Where Art Thou Romeo? I saw the movie Romeo and Juliet this weekend. It was ok. I LOVED Douglas Booth (Romeo) and Hailee Steinfeld (Juliet). They really got into character and had amazing chemistry. I cried from beginning to end. HaHaHa

However, it was the supporting cast that failed (at least to me). Either they were too silly or too serious. The storyline at the beginning went too fast and gosh I never thought the death scene would end. Very dramatic. I was like, please take me out MY misery. HaHaHa Beautiful scene at the end, but make sure you bring a box of tissues. LOL I suggest waiting for this movie on DVD and rent it even then.

Went to Ted's Frostop (pic above) and it made everything better :) Cheeseburger on french bread and fries! Yummmm Remember I did my MAC Archie's Girls post there! LOL

Stop by tomorrow and I'll show you the Halloween Themed Treats from my Orange Glad Box Subscription.

  3. Those cookies look sublime!! I love all the decorations, I miss all the decorations for holidays, they just don't do it like it's done in the states. I do miss that. Not sure I can be bothered seeing another version of this movie, but I may...just wait to rent it, no way I'd pay to go and see it. Shame some of it was a downer. Happy Monday doll xx

  4. I'm not a huge fan of all these mega-sugary looking cookies, but they do look fun. Did you know that we have palm trees too here? Yep, in the south west of the UK, apparently it's down to the gulf stream passing along that way... I don't think I'll bother with this Romeo & Juliet version, I liked the Leo & Claire version too much to spoil it ;-) Have a lovely start to the week xo

  5. Wow! I never cease to be amazed by how the US go full out for Halloween. It's much more subdued here in Europe (quite nonexistent in the Med). It's lovely seeing all the wonderful creations that are produced for getting into the mood ;-)

  10. Hi Kim, your local mall is so wonderfully decorated for Halloween. The treats look yum! How cute is that pumpkin dress and lamb slippers, so sweet. Thanks for the review of the movie, its bad that a movie can be let down by the supporting cast. May your week get off to a great start!

  22. Since it's been so warm I haven't really gotten into the Halloween spirit but this fun post of yours is certainly helping Kim. It's always awesome when stores really deck out for Halloween and I do prefer the cute to the creepy kind of decor ;p Have a fab week girl!

  28. The Great American Cookie Co cookies look amazing! I would definitely go for the special every time, too - and then cut back later ;) Sorry to hear that Romeo and Juliet was such a bust. I was a little nervous to see it because it's such a hard story to do well, especially on film and, well, you've confirmed my suspicions!
