Philosophy Crispy Marshmallow Bars Product Review

Marshmallow scented products always seem to stump me. You can taste a marshmallow. You can feel a marshmallow. However to smell a marshmallow is a different story. Philosophy's Crispy Marshmallow Bars body wash (duo HERE) is for someone who wants a super soft "i-can-barely-tell-its-there" scent while showering or bathing (unless you add the cinnamon which comes with the duo product). There's something there, but I just can't put my "nose" on it. It's not vanilla. It's much lighter. It's like sugar dust or something. HaHaHa To me though, the scent is kind of artificial. On the positive side, it's super creamy, fabulously moisturizing and feels great to the skin. It's not sticky and it washes clean. I was conflicted when grading this. But I always ask myself, would I buy this product again or for another person. My answer is no. Despite it making my skin feel luxurious, the total experience (senses and all) doesn't have me swinging from chandeliers. So I have to go with bittersweet for this one. Save your money and choose another Philosophy body wash.  Philosophy is having a 30% off Friends & Family Sale right now until 12/12 (promo code: thankful4you). Oh! The awesome sweet cream frosting lotion I showed you yesterday IS sold on it's own. Totally getting more of it. Excellent stocking stuffer too! Just wanted you to know. Anybody want a rice crispie treat?

  2. When buying shower gels, lotions, body scrubs I always love something that smells really good, something that leaves me tingling and has my senses soaring to the moon and back. If something doesn't smell as good as I had expected I definitely would never buy it ever again.
Oh and I can't imagine what a crispy marshmallow would smell like either. hehehe

  3. I quite like some of the Philosophy products, but I'm really not quite sure why anybody would like to smell like a marshmallow...??? It looks lovely, but if I have to smell of food, then I'd rather choose something like honey ;-) xo

  7. I know so little about sweets and US sweets in particular… At first I thought those bars that looked remarkably like food were the actual thing, like a soap bar or something. :) :) :) So silly… :D
Thank you for the review, Kim! x

  8. Hi Kim! Oh what a shame at the end it is a disappointing product, you know I am pretty addicted to marshmallow scent and when I saw the product it inspires me a lot, even though not as the ones you showed yday that for sure are onto my wishlist. Sure, I want a crispy treat now!:) Kisses my friend, have a good day!:*

  15. It probably is difficult to imitate the scent of mash mellow because its scent is so subtle I think. It does sound very yummy though. I want me some rice crispy bars right now Kim. Hand some to me please.

Thank you for your heartfelt comment Kim. I know I say this over and over again but I am grateful to have known you and learned your wisdom and kind heart.

  24. Great review! I agree with you - its so hard to place a scent on a marshmallow! I see all these candles scented like that and I just don't know how these people know what a marshmallow smells like haha!

  28. I love crispy marshmallow squares, but when I think of how they smell, well, nothing. A true, homemade marshmallow has a scent, but it's very light. The jetpuffed ones we all grew up with... to me usually just smell like the plastic bag they came in. Great review, Kim!

  29. Aw I'm sad that this one is bittersweet! I feel so let down on your behalf when things don't work out, lol.

It sounds like such a promising product cause rice krispy bars smell (and taste) amazing. Boo! At least you'll still get all clean in the shower :)

  32. I saw this on your Instagram and I thought the marshmallow bars came in the box. lol. I was so ready to eat them. Too bad about the artificial scent of the wash though. I don't like smelling artificial stuff on me.

  33. Well I guess they all can't be winners like the Red Velvet body wash. It seems like that marshmallow scent can be a little tricky to replicate in products cause alot of time it does end smelling a little artificial. Thanks for your honest review Kim!
