Mixed Chicks Hair Care Product Review

Hey everybody! Say hello to my mom! I asked her to model for this hair care product review :) The lovely ladies at Mixed Chicks, sent me a super awesome gift bag, filled with hair care products to sample. I was excited to receive them, because I've heard so many wonderful things about their products.

Mixed Chicks is made in the USA, cruelty free, vegan and does NOT engage in animal testing. Another thing that impressed me about their hair care & skin products is that they're formulated for ALL NATIONALITIES and ALL HAIR TYPES. I love that!

Let me give you some background information on my mom's hair before I start the review. She goes to the salon, once every 2 months to get a trim. She gets a relaxer every 3 months. No color. This is her natural grey hair. I maintain her hair between visits to the salon. I'm not a licensed stylist ;)

Mixed Chicks Shampoo: Supersweet

I received two (2) trial & travel packs. Each contained one (1) shampoo, one (1) deep conditioner and one (1) leave-in conditioner pod. One pod will give you two uses (example: you'll be able to shampoo your hair twice with one pod). These trial packs can be purchased online through their website. It's an excellent way to try their products and see if they work for you. The Mixed Chicks trial and travel sample packs are only 99 cents! What do you have to lose? They also carry a clarifying and sulfate free shampoo. I used the clarifying shampoo on my mom's hair and it was really good. It's golden yellow in color. It lathers nicely. The scent is light and clean. It cleaned my mom's hair really well and washed out thoroughly. I shampooed my mom's hair twice.

Mixed Chicks Deep Conditioner: Supersweet

After shampooing, I applied the entire deep conditioner pod to my mom's wet hair. It's white, with a thick consistency. I massaged it in and let it sit in her hair for 5 minutes. I then combed it through and let it sit for another 5 minutes. I then rinsed her hair. It's an excellent detangler and moisturizer. The scent is a clean scent.

Mixed Chicks Leave In Conditioner: Supersweet

While her hair was still wet, I applied the Leave-In Conditioner. It's yellow in color and absorbs really well into the hair (transparent). I only used 1/2 of the pod in her hair. Mixed Chicks was awesome to send me a full size bottle of the Leave-In Conditioner as well (Thank You!). As mentioned above, it has a great clean scent. I combed the Leave-In Conditioner in her hair and then prepared to style it.

Mixed Chicks Hair Silk and Straightening Serum: Supersweet

So now I'm ready to style her hair (blow dry & flat iron)! Next, I added two pumps of Mixed Chicks Hair Silk (which adds shine) and one dab of Straightening Serum (which is a thermal protectant for heat styling) to my mom's hair. I worked it in from root to tip. I then blow dried her hair and proceeded to use the flat iron. BOTH products are really fabulous!!! My mom wears a straight hairstyle, so as you can see from the gif below her hair came out silky smooth, soft and stylish. I have nothing bad to say about their products. I was thoroughly impressed. My mom says, she's throwing away all the other products she's been using and only wants to use Mixed Chicks products. HaHaHa FYI - I used the products on my hair and they all worked great (my hair is much coarser in comparison to my moms).

Mixed Chicks Pineapple Coconut Soap: Supersweet

I also received Mixed Chicks Pineapple Coconut Soap. Two bars are in each package. It has a very soft scent of both pineapple & coconut. What I love is how it lathers and how creamy it is to the skin. It truly feels good.
