Vogue Japan + My Fascination With Venice
Pack your bags! Let's go to Venice! I am truly smitten with this editorial! Love the dresses, outfits, and sparkling jewelry. Everything is so gorgeous!?! What are you guys doing this weekend? Right now, I'm looking at the 2014 Pre-Fall runway collections. Ralph Lauren knocked it out the park! I see why people were praising his collection. Loved it. Hi Kim, you're right, this editorial is gorgeous! I've been to Venice once and it's a beautiful city but while I was riding on the gondola, I noticed the water was really dirty (definitely looked better in pictures). Have a wonderful weekend!

YES! to this post. I'm excited because it's getting to that time of year where nautical styles are everywhere. It's one of those things that will always be in style. The use of red in these shoots are very attractive but I really love the third picture with the fancy white and blue dress and lovely parasol.

Dear Kim, if I can be honest I'm not crazy about this editorial... I think it doesn't convey Venice decadent charm, maybe my heart and not my reason is talking because I love so much Venice and these pictures don't make it justice. ReplyDeletegosh, what an incredible shoot! how fun it must have been for the editors to put this all together too :) Venice is the best! i remember being in that square when it flooded, the waters rise so often there that workers seem to appear out of nowhere and set up walking planks so everyone can still get around. it's awesome! ♥

Beautiful editorial! My favorite look is the left one on the second pic, the navy shorts with the sailor striped tshirt. It's so simple yet it looks so luxurious!
ReplyDeleteBut I have to say that I'm surprised that Vogue Japan puts occidental-looking models in the editorial and not Japanese models. I always thought that fashion magazines chose models resembling the people of the country.

It is costly but well worth it. It is not just a way to get to downtown Venice. It is a site in itself. Romantic gondolas side by side with barges of produce and gasoline! The buildings along the canal are magnificent and many of them are on the "to do list" but are completely different when seen from the water. Get a 24 or 36 hr pass and ride all over the different routes to get a insider view of Venice
