Tony The Tiger! Everybody knows him, right? He's the mascot for Kelloggs Frosted Flakes Cereal.
Ahhh, Did You Know This Rooster Had A Name? Cornelius The Rooster for Kellogg's Corn Flakes
In the United States and Canada, we call them Frosted Flakes.
In the UK, Commonwealth, European, Middle East and Spain they're called Frosties.
They're called Corn Frosty in Japan and Corn Frost in Korea.

subsequently reverted to Coco Pops. In 1998, the cereal was briefly

after falling sales and a telephone poll in which the British public
voted, its name reverted to Coco Pops. (source: wikipedia)
England's Glory is a brand of matches available in the United Kingdom.
What's Up Anya with all the matches? LOL I hope she's lighting candles and not ciggies. :P

Ariel is a stain remover and laundry detergent.
Custard Cream (is a popular biscuit (in the US we call them cookies) in the British Isles.

They're flavored with powdered ginger and a variety of spices, most commonly cinnamon and nutmeg.
Rich Tea is a sweet biscuit suitable for dunking in tea and coffee.
I wasn't aware there were sweet, semi-sweet etc. biscuits. I didn't know (hmmm, just like chocolate).
So interesting. I love learning about new things. :D

Dear Kim, first of all I'm reading this post while having breakfast (none of the mentioned though!!). I must say that I love the pieces where a brand icon is displayed (Cornelius is my favourite), while I'm not fond of the purses where the whole box of cereals/cookies is reproduced. Anyway I enjoyed another of your multicultural posts, it's fun to know how popular things are named differently in different countries :-)

ReplyDeleteNot merely a want.
I love the Smiley Face bag! :D Very interesting collection this one! ^_^
ReplyDeleteSome of this collection is so fun! Some of it is a little too crazy, although I confess my love for the corn flakes rooster bag and ALL of that smiley face collection. too adorable! :)

This collection is so happy and witty. I can't imagine having one of these bags for myself (apart from the smilie purse/clutch) as they aren't very me, but for a woman who has everything, this would make a lovely present. :)

These are so cool :)) I love custard creams, so I'll take that bag :))) Rich tea biscuits are nice as well, dip them in your tea, it's really nice. The digestive ones you can get plain or with chocolate on the top of them, which is how I love them of course, haha. There are so many kinds here really. I would definitely use these bags! Have a great day doll :)
ReplyDeleteYou find the coolest stuff, Kim! I LOVE these bags. I'm so over the luxury logos. Want more quirky totes and these hit the spot!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! This is the first time I've seen the collection. I did see a pic of the runway, but for some reason, never did see THE actual collection. These bags are just too amazing, and would actually be so super stoked to have all of them....when I win the lotto....
ReplyDeleteI actually do like some of them, they're fun and colourful which is great for summer and would work well with a casual outfit. It's quite a British thing to design something that's not supposed (or at least I think it's not) to be taken completely seriously. I'm just not sure how much money I'd be prepared to part with for a little bit of fun like that - probably not as much as they would cost ;-) Have a lovely start to the week xo
ReplyDeleteHi Kim! Lol, this collection is just so quirky and fun! It makes me smile, not all the bags are my type though I really love the ones with the Kellogg's stuff, too nice, I want the coco pops clutch!:) Kisses dear, have a great week ahead! xo
ReplyDeleteNot sure I would walk down town with one but they sure are fun!! I am actually rather partial to dunking rich tea biscuits in my morning cuppa:)Have a great week Kim:)

How utterly whimsical and cool! I remembered thinking how interesting it was to see the same cereals named differently for different markets. It is funny to see frosted flakes as frosties here!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're having a good birthday weekend/week!

Awesome post I will want one of each they are so pretty and different.

While I do enjoy a level of whimsy this collection is a little kitschy for me. That being said-- loved the different terms for the cereals throughout the world!

All the bags are so pretty but I really like the Digestive and choco Krispies bag!
ReplyDeleteKim, what a fun post and everything is so very familiar of course. We have all grown up with these images and tastes here in the UK. I'm not sure I would rush out to buy one of these bags but the rooster bag is cute and I learnt something today too. I didn't know that the rooster's name was Cornelius! This collection will certainly be a talking point and raise a smile. You are right too, Ship are household matches. Have a great week Kim.

The Tiny Heart
Hi Kim, wow, This is the first time I've seen the collection. ! I remembered thinking how interesting it was to see the same cereals named differently for different markets. These bags are just too lovely, and would actually be so super stoked to have all of them. Happy Monday doll <3
ReplyDeleteHmmm... I'm not sure I would like walking around with a cereal brand tote or hand bag, but the idea is very creative.
ReplyDeleteThis post makes me want to eat cereal, Kim...haha. Those bags are cute and fun to look at but I am not sure I want to carry one around in real life.
ReplyDeleteMy thought on these are: corky and trendy. And this is not something I would be spending money on. They are for looks, purely editorial but then it's just me. :)
ReplyDeleteVERY interesting, not sure how I would feel about wearing food logos on my bag, but I LOVE the rooster one, such a great graphic on it's own but looks awesome on this bag and with the big green tassel I would definitely consider this one for sure.

ReplyDeleteWho knew food purses could be cute?? Haha love this! My mom lives everything British, so she had told me about "digestives biscuits" but the rest was new to me :-)
ReplyDeleteWow this is so cool and funny, it's a great idea use cereals and cookies brand for accessories, it looks so cute and colorful!! I love the smile too!!
ReplyDeleteHave a good day sweet Kim, thanx for your lovely comments! ;-)

Oh, I think these are so fun! The custard cream purse is adorable and the others are so cheerful! I feel like they would be a great care free purse for summer!

This collection is total kitschy fun! Anya Hindmarch had always had a such great sense of humor when it comes to her designs and this collection is certainly no different! Just viewing it makes me smile :) I never knew the Kellogg's rooster actually had a name Kim.

It was a very fun collection! It's always good when designers do something a little out of the box on the runway I think :)
ReplyDeletecute purse :) xx

so CUTE!! i remember when anya did this 'i am not a plastic bag' bags and those were ok. AND recently there's been bags that are shaped like books but i quite like these cereal box much more!!!

A Beautiful Zen
What a fun collection! I would definitely carry one of the cereal totes, I think the vintage feel and the huge tassel makes them look like something fashionable, and not, say, an add for kellogs.
ReplyDeleteChic on the Cheap
looking through all these purses reminds me of my childhood! haha tony and frosted flakes.. but this is a very unique idea, they actually look usable in everyday fashion!

You always find the coolest and unique items! :-) I love the Tony the Tiger bag.

cornelius! i did learn something new!!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, Kim - I just saw this line about an hour ago and I immediately thought of you (not that you would neccessarily love it, but more so what your thoughts might be.) Personally, I fell head over heels, specifically with the cereal-themed pieces. I practically lived on cereal as a kid and I still love all of the mascots. If only there were a Toucan Sam handbag, it would have to be mine!
ReplyDeletexox,

that's an interesting handbag designer!

These items are adorable! My fave is Tony the Tiger. I had a stuffed Tony the Tiger as a little girl. My grandmother even took a pic of me hugging him and enlarged it. I need to find that pic... Hugs, T. http://tickledpinkwoman.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I don't know how to feel about her designs! I love funky and new designs that are different but a bag with cereal logo's on them? I did like the happy face though!!

I know Anya Hindmarch products for many years now. She truly makes high quality luxury bags. She is so creative even in her Shows. Love her tiger blue bag and the burgundy bag too. Next will be a trip to London to purchase them.
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of the name… but i loved every single item.
ReplyDeleteHow very creative!
Thank you for sharing these pictures. I love the designs! They're all so colorful and fun =D
ReplyDeleteI can't decide which I like most but if I would have to, I would pick the ones with digestives hanging on it =D
I have never heard of her, :) but I love every one of that collection, especially the cereal boxes ones, haha. Thanks for the introduction, Kim! :D
