This is a product review for Honeywell. I received a Designer Series Filter Free Cool Mist Humidifier (HUT-300)
All opinions are 100% my own.
I've always been aware of the health benefits, of humidifiers. When my parents moved from New Orleans to Florida, I had problems breathing at night (dry air / high humidity). The pediatrician told my mom, to purchase a humidifier. My mom did and the problem ceased.
Within the past year, I've dealt with some nasal issues, dryness of skin and began researching humidifiers to purchase one. Well before I could, a lovely representative of Honeywell contacted me, and asked if I would like to review one of theirs AND host a giveaway for my readers. I was tickled pink. My reply was YES! So generous!

Humidifiers have MANY BENEFITS! There's a lot to LOVE about them! I knew they helped you breathe better, sleep better, relieved dry air discomfort and kept your throat & nasal passages hydrated from prior experience. However, did you know humidifiers help reduce static electricity? I hate static electricity in clothes & blankets! Did you know humidifiers promote plant growth & healthier plants? I only have 2 plants in my house, but I bet they are a lot happier now :) HaHaHa Did you know it helps protect wood furniture? Low humidity can cause wood furniture to lose moisture and shrink O_0, which can cause warping and cracking! I did not know these things! I love my humidifier even more now.

Honeywell's Designer Series Filter Free Cool Mist Humidifier (HUT-300) is Supersweet
My Review and Personal Thoughts: I received Honeywell's Designer Series Filter Free Cool Mist Humidifier (HUT-300) and I LOVE IT. No assembly was needed!!! So happy, because I'm not good at putting things together. HaHaHa I took it out the box and everything was in place. There's also no filters to replace! Amen! This humidifier has a tea kettle shape (of course it's larger, but it's so cute) and it easily fit on one of my end tables. Honeywell cautions you of the surface you put it on, because you're filling it with water and it releases a mist (however, I've been using it for a week and there's been no seepage...but keep in mind surfaces should be waterproof). There are two parts to the humidifer (an upper & lower half). The upper half is the water tank. You unscrew the knob at the bottom (I like it because it's chunky and easy to open & close) and fill it with COLD water (since this is a COOL MIST HUMIDIFIER; Honeywell does offer warm mist humidifiers). Place the top half on the bottom half, plug it in (with DRY HANDS), turn the mist control knob to ON, adjust the amount of mist released and direction you want the mist to go. That's it!!! So easy!!! I love mine (thank you Honeywell!) and would highly recommend it to anyone. This particular model has an antimicrobially treated tank, requires weekly cleaning and one should READ & FOLLOW all safety precautions outlined in Honeywell's manual. It runs up to 48 hours per filling. It's great for medium to large rooms. It has a comfortable weight to it, sturdy and is not overbearing. It's very quiet. The design is sleek. The only thing I would caution you about, is to make sure you use all the water in it. The reason I say this, if you remove the top half and there's still water in the humidifier, you'll see water in the bottom half and it may drip onto the surface you have it sitting on. So be careful of that and always hold it with both hands. (can't you tell I have a master's degree in environmental policy, know safety procedures & training ;) wink wink Honeywell)
I made two GIFS showing it in operation. Click the X to hear sound. Isn't it quiet? Just a hummm. :)

New post on the blog: Valentine's Day OOTD: Look 1
This came at just the right time for you, Kim. Just as well you hadn't just bought one! As usual a thorough and helpful review. I didn't know about all these benefits before. It's a sleek, compact design better than the ones I've seen which are often unattractive. Have a great weekend Kim!

I think humidifiers are great, especially when everything is dried up during the winter. I used to have one in my room sometimes. Am glad it made it better for your parents as well :)) Good luck to everyone :)) Have a great weekend doll Xxx
ReplyDeleteOh, you know here we had to have the opposite - a dehumidifier! :) And boy, it worked hard and made a huge difference! Love these gadgets! x

Oh I've heard of these but never knew why they were needed before, haha! It's usually always so humid around here I don't think they are that common. Lots of great benefits of it though! :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy yours! :)
Away From Blue
i grew up with a dehumidifier, but moving to the city cause the change for a humidifier. i even have a travel one! great product :)
ReplyDeleteKim, you had me at Filter Free....
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, a humidifier is a must every winter in our house because of the heater, and with the kids always getting colds and coughs during this season, our doctor told us to use it as well. I think ours is an old model of Honeywell:D
one of my coworkers just bought a hello kitty humidifier and it's not only adorable, but after reading your entry, is awesome! wow!! this would really be awesome for winter mornings when one's throat is sooo dry!!
ReplyDeleteif i'm not lucky enough to win one i will definitely be picking up one on my own!

Oh I really need one of these! I have electric heat, which is extremely drying. The humidifier could help put moisture back in the air so I don't wake up with a stuffy nose.

I love humidifiers because they help to keep my face refreshed during the winter months. I have horrible acne and keeping a humidifier running helps to ease it. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWow, looks like a great humidifier, sleek and functional. I will keep an eye out for one; our old one is on its last legs and doesnt look half as nice.
ReplyDeleteHumidifiers are getting much cuter these days. I remember when they were these blocky tanks. I didn't know that they helped with static electricity which I also detest. This is an awesome giveaway! Thanks Kim and Honeywell!
ReplyDeleteJust read your post over at Nelah's. Love your ideas and what you said about time.

I had no idea about the additional benefits aside from helping you breathe better. We use a humidifier at home but it's a bit noisy and has a filter which can be annoying so winning this would be AWESOME!! Keeping my fingers crossed! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat review Kim, it looks so useful!
ReplyDeleteViky --- MySecretFashionPoison
I know my husband would love a humidifier, and I would expierience the benefits.
ReplyDeleteHe snores, and humidfiers for some reason keep him from doing it. Also he loves the moisture it creates in the air.
That good prize Kim! Have a nice weekend >(

My doctor also told me that I should buy myself a humifidier. But he also said that If I didn't want to I should just put wet clothes in the room. I made this and my breathing got really better :)
ReplyDeleteBut I think that maybe I will really buy myself a humidifier in the future :)

The biggest benefit of having a humidifier in our home would be getting rid of the bleeding noses due to dry air in the morning! And when my baby gets a cold, the humidifier really soothes his airway.

Breathing better is the biggest benefit!
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely not a humidifier expert, but I know it has helped tremendously with the allergies that run rampant in our home...helping the kids sleep much, much better with clear airways!!
ReplyDeleteI want a humidifer!
ReplyDeleteMy heater totally dries out my house... Not only do they help with static but it would help my nose and my baby breathe easier
ReplyDeleteI hate the dryness in the house during the winter - my skin needs some hydration!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great review Kim!

Nice review Kim! You know, I used to have a humidifier when I was younger and used to think I didn't need one until I bought my own. What a difference! :) Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteI bought a humidifier for my kids to use when they were babies and had a terribly stuffy nose with a cold. Your Honeywell one is light years ahead of my old thing. Mine used to run dry during the night, but yours can last up to 48 hours! I've actually got a cold and could do with a humidifier right now. I hope I win! :D. sparkle2day.com
ReplyDeleteWow, the benefits sound awesome! I'd love to have a humidifier of my own! Great post, have a nice weekend my friend! Kisses <3
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! I really need one! I have asthma and my doctor advised me to buy a humidifier for the dry and cold months of December to January. But they can be very expensive where I live. I will definitely join this giveaway! Thank you so much! :)

ReplyDeleteOMG! How I wished I were a US resident! I never knew humidier is good for wood. I thought it might be too moisturizing for wood and encourage the wood to turn black. Hehehe... Thanx for sharing all the knowledge. Wish all the participants the best of luck!
ReplyDeleteThis humidifier sounds amazing. I am in desperate need of a humidifier in my home.

Great review, Kim! We've been toying with purchasing a humidifier. This long winter is making for super-dry air. I'm sending the link to this post to hubby! :) Big hugs, Kim. T. http://tickledpinkwoman.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteGrowing up on the Canadian prairies, where the air is dry and gets extremely cold, I always slept with a humidifier. I had one in my bedroom for the first twenty years of my life, no doubt about it! And they help so much. I don't need one anymore since I live by the ocean, but if I ever move, I'll keep Honeywell in mind :)
