Ooh La La Brand: Brew La La Organic Strawberry Chocolate Tea Product Review

Well, it's chilly again. So, I put away the iced tea and decided to make myself a cup of hot tea. HaHaHa This is Ooh La La Brands, Brew La La Organic Strawberry Chocolate Tea (say that 3 times). I reviewed their Pumpkin Pie Coffee & S'mores Hot Chocolate last year and this tea was part of that order (see, I don't forget). I'll review their Chocolate Macaroon Coffee before Easter (I think. I break promises. I'm so bad.). Oh well, stay tuned. I'll get there eventually! This is not a sponsored post. I purchased everything with my money.

All products from the Ooh La La Brand (tea, coffee, etc.) come in really cute packaging. This tea comes in a strawberry pink tin with a hinged flip-top lid. I love the strawberry frosted cupcakes that appear on the front of the container and there are little pink teapots & cups scattered on all sides of the container. You'll definitely want to save it and use it again. You receive 50 string & tag teabags. They're divided into 2 (25 ct) freshly sealed silver packets (see picture below). So your tea definitely stays fresh. I placed this order in November of 2013 and everything is still fresh. FYI: These bags are not resealable. Keep your tea bags in the silver bags. Put the silver bags in the canister. You'll be fine.
The first thing you'll notice (rather your nose) when you open the container, is the awesome aroma. You definitely pick up a red berry scent. I didn't detect chocolate though. I would use a small teacup to drink this tea. The reason I say that, is because the tea bags are small (half the size of a regular tea bag). Too much water will overpower one tea bag. If you want a large mug of this, then use more tea bags (to strengthen). Follow the directions on the canister. Make sure your water is 100 degrees or hotter. Let it brew for 5-7 minutes.
For taste, I added 2 packets of sugar to mine. I tried it without, but preferred it with sugar. This tea has a very light taste. I picked up hints of berry, but I did not pick up chocolate. So, I added chocolate candies to it :) (for the picture of course). If you're looking for a STRONG strawberry & chocolate tea, this is not it. If you want something light, has a berry taste and will relax you, this is it. It tasted really good with sugar. However, I can only give it a Bittersweet rating, because of the missing chocolate taste and overall it's just not hearty enough for me. Onto their Chocolate Macaroon Coffee (I have a feeling their coffee is their specialty).

  6. I agree. Strawberry Tea could taste bittersweet. Not a good combination for me. I have the Macarron Coffee. Enjoy them!

  13. The combination sounds awesome Kim. Too bad the flavor is weak and the lack of chocolate is disappointing. I love tea too. I guess a winter decides to stick around longer. It is already end of March but still colder than usual. Yucky weathern

  14. hmm that sounded great, really good combination. too bad the taste is weak, I wouldn't mind too much about the bittersweet taste because tea itself tends to be slightly bitter. If you try the macaroon coffee let us know how it goes, that sounds bomb!!

  19. I am a coffee girl %100, but I have been trying teas lately. I think I would try this one, even though it doesn't have the chocolate taste, just because I love berry flavors so much! Great review Kim!

  20. It's a shame the chocolate flavor didn't come through cause strawberries and chocolate make such a winning combination. Well at least you can enjoy the berry flavor and the packaging is quite cute. I drink a strawberry green tea from Kusmi during the summer. It's so good iced!

  36. Hmm, I don't know that I really would want much chocolate flavor in my tea, but it's good to know because if you ordered it really wanting the chocolate flavor it would be pretty disappointing! The packaging is so cute though. :) Thanks for the great review, I can't wait to see what you think of their coffee!

  60. The tin box is really pretty. It's a pity the flavours didn't show too much but at least it tasted nice.

I really like sampling teas and I once bought a chocolate & mint tea but I have to say that I wasn't too keen on the flavour and I think I will stay clear of chocolate flavoured teas. Not my favourite flavour combo hehe

  61. It looks so pretty, I adore the tin can. We used a lot of organic food/stuff around the house so this is in my alley. Thanks Kim for sharing.

  62. Is it a rubios tea? Usually manufactures will use rubios to enhance, or give a "chocolate" flavor. You didn't mention it, so I'm guessing it's a black tea? Either way, it sounds charming, but too bad it wasn't able to fully deliver.
