most chocolate masks look and feel like MUD, but not this one! this mask feels, looks and smells like chocolate! however it's NOT for anyone with sensitive or rosacea-prone skin (like me; i didn't read everything before i bought it (i just saw the word CHOCOLATE and hit BUY! hahaha)..my bad! LOL). it's
farmhouse fresh's
sundae best chocolate softening mask. it's super creamy and looks like chocolate pudding! it smells like chocolate (nothing artificial about it)! it applies and dries like chocolate frosting. this mask goes on cool and then dries. farmhouse fresh mentions there is a tingle and there is, but it's not alarming. it then
seriously begins to tighten (like you can barely move your mouth, cheeks and eyebrows, but it doesn't hurt). you then sit, relax and inhale the chocolate aroma. once it dries, wash the mask off with cool water. this mask is packed with cocoa, honey and CoQ10! my face felt really good right afterwards and super-soft (but then...well read on).
let me stress...this mask is very powerful! there's nothing kiddie about it. FHF warns, this IS NOT for individuals with sensitive skin or anyone that has rosacea-prone skin (as i mentioned above). i have both dry and sensitive skin. my cheeks and above my eyebrows were a little pink after using it, but my skin felt squeaky clean & soft. it wasn't until hours later i felt a little sensitivity (in those areas), but never any stinging, itchiness or rash. unfortunately, i can't use this anymore due to it's strength (my skin is fine after just one use, but several applications of this wouldn't be good for ME). i wish it was milder, but it's not. individuals with other skin types should be ok (but the strength of this bothers me, so for caution i'm only giving it a bittersweet rating). farmhouse fresh also has a pumpkin puree (splendid dirt) and yogurt, oat & honey mask (pajama paste) but they're not recommended for sensitive or rosacea prone skin either :(. so bottom line is, if you have the right skin type, this should be ok for you (use caution and only use it every 2-3 weeks). i just wish they had something for everybody. those are my thoughts! have a great weekend everybody!
Sweet-Bittersweet-NotSweet
supersweet(run & buy it) sweet(really good,buy it) bittersweet(ok, issues)not sweet(not good,don't buy this stuff)
Farmhouse Fresh's Sundae Best Chocolate Softening Mask is Bittersweet.
Hi Kim! I dont know how you could resist to not eat it, seems a real choco pudding indeed! And I think the effect must have been very good on u after the first use but as you, I have a sensitive skin so is really a big shame. They should make something for every types of skin. Have a wonderful weekend Kim, many hugs! xo
ReplyDeleteShame it's not good for your skin, as it sounds wonderful! I have sensitive skin too so I'm really wary about trying too many different products in case I have a reaction. it's good you didn't react too badly to it, and you can stop using it easily :)

Lovely Greets and happy Friday <3
ReplyDeleteThis sounds marvellous, shame it wasn't for your skin type though, ouch! I see chocolate and I say gimme too, hahah! Super review doll, hope you have a great weekend xx
ReplyDeleteThis certainly looks good enough to eat. So rich and creamy. As a chocoholic, I was immediately interested in learning more but unfortuately I have sensitive skin so perhaps it's not the ideal product for me. Another helpful, honest review. Thanks, Kim. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like pudding I will want to eat it lol nice review doll. Have a great weekend.

Yummy! This looks like real chocolate! Great to hear that it doesn't smell artificial. Too bad the mask is too strong and not for all skin types..

It looks delicious but don't think it would work for my skin :(
ReplyDeleteUgh, I would just want to chow down.

Thank you so much for reviewing this mask Kim! I was interested in cause it sounds divine but since I also have sensitive skin it wouldn't be right for me. The tightening effect sure sounds strong too.

Sounds so yummy and edible. hey, i'll put chocolate on my face any day ;). Nice post sweets. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the review! The packaging is so pretty that I'd miss the labeling regarding the sensitive skin too. My skin is the same way, so I'll be avoiding this. It took years for my skin to finally calm down, so I understand.
ReplyDeleteToo bad it did not work for you Kim, it sounds like an amazing product. If i tried it, the same thing that happened to you would happen to me as rosacea is something i deal with too.
ReplyDeleteI think I would have tried to taste it.
Again I'm surprised that a product with almost only natural ingredients can be so powerful. What a pity. Still craving for that Whoopie Pie :-)

Oh my gosh this sounds so amazing!! I love chocolate things. My skin is sensitive and gets red easily as well so this probably wouldn't be for me!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried a chocolate mask but the comparison to mud made me giggle! =D

super interesting. i love that feeling when it hardens. my girlfriend treated me to a spa and facial before my wedding and i had a mask that did a similar effect. would be great to do something similar at home! :)
ReplyDeleteThe smell of this mask sounds heavenly! But the strength also sounds pretty darn intense... I'm not sure my skin would be up to it!

Gosh, I'm scared now I might eat this. Looks delicious. But oops it's a mask! My skin will love this.
ReplyDeleteOMG I'd have eaten it ha ha :-) Looks yummy. Happy weekend Kim,

That looks delicious like a chocolate spread, love that idea with having the mask on & smelling the chocolate aroma, sounds relaxing to me. I have a sensitive skin too prone to dryness especially during the cold months, don't this will suit my skin type. Great review though. Have a great weekend Kim! xo
ReplyDeleteThis would make me crave chocolate like crazy!! My skin is sensitive too so I probably couldn't use this one either.

This sure looks like chocolate. Lovely! :)

This chocolate mask looks just like chocolate in the tub. And from your description of it looking like chocolate and smelling like chocolate, I would actually try to lick it just to make sure it's really inedible. I wonder if you did the same too, Kim. This sounds really wonderful and it is a shame it is too harsh for your sensitive skin. I hope your face gets better soon.

I am so sorry that you had a reaction to it! Luckily you noticed right away. I think this would make a perfect gift for one of my friends!
ReplyDeleteDamn. I have sensitive skin so looks like it's a no-go zone for me. Literally looks like melted chocolate. The packaging is way cute, too! Rosemary x
