This must've been a fun photo shoot to participate in! When I was a little girl, I enjoyed walking down the toy store aisle, looking at various dolls. It was fun looking at the clothes each doll wore and also the coordinating accessories. This photo shoot brought back all of those memories. A model in a "barbie box" is nothing new (photo shoot), but it's always fun to look at. Let's daydream and ponder for a minute? If you were asked to do a photo shoot like the one below, what would YOUR box be filled with? I could see myself sitting at a bistro style table, with a a fabulous outfit on, surrounded by sweets and (of course) beauty treats. Give me two and three-tiered cakes, frosted cupcakes, eclairs, sundaes with cherries on top, candy jars filled with candy and of course chocolate. Hmmm, I think my box would have to be bigger than these ;) HaHaHa Just call me patisserie Barbie! HaHaHa What about yours? What would YOURS be filled with?

It is hard to believe those are real models on these photos...they really look like dolls.
ReplyDeleteI remember that we were started (my friends and I) on the opening of some store when mannequins moved- they were models not mannequins but it felt uncanny:)
Anyhow, one thing we have in common- my box would have to have sweets too! I think my bow would also need to contain a mini kitchen and food supplies ha ha...so I can bake new cakes :)

Away From The Blue
If they do an Alexander Wang box, I'd want to be in that one! :D
ReplyDeleteI saw a preview when they were shooting it and thought how great it was. :) When I was a little girl, Barbie was my ultimate dream and I waited for years before I got one (they weren't available in Russia, so it was my cousin who moved to Germany and then brought me the precious doll).

I love this editorial! Hmm, what would be in my box? I'm inspired by the Dior box and would love to have a casual outfit and one for weekend tea. I'd have to have killer handbags, tulips, and red velvet cake too!

This is a hard decision!!! But I think I would go with Chanel, Dolce and Gabbana, or Valentino. But really I would kill for an opportunity with any major designer!

These are fab, Kim, and this indeed takes me back to my earlier years! Not sure which one is my fave... The Miu Miu or LV. They are all great! T. http://tickledpinkwoman.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, this photo shoot is just too fabulous! The Barbie aisle was my favourite place to spend time when I was growing up - I could have browsed all of the dolls and their fabulous outfits for hours if I was allowed. And this adult version of that has my inner child jumping for joy!

Kim, I absolutely love this shoot and the creative concept behind each photograph.
ReplyDeleteMy doll box would be in vintage attire, oh and I'd have another one in formal wear and finally one in really modern clothing. One can only dream.
I love this post and idea! Although I know they aren't real, I almost wish they were so that I could give them to my future daughter to teach her about fashion! I love everything about this and your blog! Keep up the good work.

I'm a little behind with my blog reading (and my own posts!) with all the Chrismas preparations. I loved this post as it brought back such happy memories! Looking at these fabulous outfits, I kept forgetting they were not really dolls! So clever! Patisserie Barbie, what a great idea. She would have her own three tiered afternoon tea stand!
ReplyDeleteI can totally see myself in between Dior and Miu Miu. It will be filled with bags and shoes and perfumes! =D
ReplyDeleteI loooove this! And I would love to see your Patisserie Barbie. lol. As for mine, it would probably have a black top, three pairs of leggings and some boots as those are what I wear everyday. lol.
ReplyDelete(^^,)
Wow! My box would be filled with Dior goodies!
