Cinco De Mayo I Felipe's Taqueria
I went to Felipe's Taqueria yesterday, to enjoy some pre Cinco De Mayo festivities. I always try to go the day before the actual holiday, to avoid crowds. I also try to visit a different Mexican Restaurant each year (view past one's here). This was my first time at Felipe's Taqueria. I found it to be colorful, comfy, cozy, the people were friendly and it has beautiful artwork on display. They have an inside bar and even an outside patio, where you can sit. Our table ordered quesadillas, nachos, taco salad and fish & shrimp baja tacos. Everything was delicious. Just get there early, because there's limited parking. It was a little overcast outside, so I decided to brighten things up by wearing my new green dress from Garnet Hill and the earrings Jo of White Roses and Coffee gave me for Christmas. I think they both complimented one another. I was comfortable and felt good. Upon leaving, I enjoyed looking at the wicker lanterns that hung from the trees. I was so wishing it was nighttime, so I could see how they looked lit up. That was my day :) Do you like Mexican food? The winner of the Benefit #CurlFriends Rollerlash Mascara is Lizzy Fresh. Congratulations Lizzy! I sent you an email!

ReplyDeleteOMG, this looks SOOO good Kim and I LOVE Mexican food and miss it so much because there is nothing close to the pics you showed here in Switzerland. We usually make it at home to celebrate, but I'll miss the Margaritas this year. hehe. You're smart to celebrate the day early because I'm sure that place will be so packed you wouldn't even be able to enjoy your meal tonight. Happy Cinco de Mayo!!

Ahhhhh, it looks so delicious. I live next door to a Mexican restaurant, but I fear it will be too crowded tonight (aka, it will definitely be too crowded). Maybe I will try my hand at some homemade goodies!

ReplyDeleteThis is the first I've heard of this festival but it does seems fun. And the food looks seriously good! I wonder if you can recommend some good Mexican dish, Kim? Something that you personally like? Hubby and I are planning to go to a Mexican restaurant some time next week for our date night but we both are not familiar with the dishes at all so any recommendation is welcome please?

Oh gosh you have me drooling over here, everything your table ordered looks amazing! Mexican food is probably one of my favorites so I would love to visit that restaurant. It seems like over here all we have is Chipotle and Taco Bell for me to get my fix lol.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the giveaway too, I'm super excited for it to come :D

I have to say I love Mexican food. More so after traveling to the USA. Actually, after eating Mexican there its kind of spoiled it for me over here because it just doesn't compare to the way you guys make it. My cousin would say it's because you guys are right next door so obviously it would be more authentic. And like Thai food it's way better in Australia than America (obviously not as fantastic as eating in their countries though)

ReplyDeleteI love Mexican food! Kim you rock that green dress and earrings. The lipstick looks lovely too! I think a coral red lipstick or a fuchsia one would compliment that look nicely too! Glad you had fun. Baci,
