Happy Friday! Sorry for the delay, but I struggled with these collections. Let me tell you why! Resort 2016 is ALL about big bold prints, huge vertical black stripes and culottes! I'm personally not a fan of any of those, so I sifted through each collection for things that were a little tamer (softer). I love prints. I even like bold prints. I just don't like big bold prints from head to toe. I like everything in moderation (like the current fringe trend). There were two collections that really appealed to me and made me smile. Those would be Thomas Maier and Vionnet. I just thought both of those collections were lovely. With Resort 2016 there's also a lot of khaki, oranges and white (so look for that). Even though it takes a great deal of time to put these together, I enjoy it. I do it to keep myself current as to what is fashionable and it also gives me ideas & inspiration as to how to put things together for my personal wardrobe. So here are my picks. I'm now caught up with all the fashion collections. You can review my picks from past collections
here. Hope you guys have a lovely weekend! (pictures & credits

ReplyDeleteSo many great collections. I love the boho look of Elie Saab's pieces!
ReplyDeleteThat was just the recap we needed, not major fans of klhaki but models always do it well!

Resort collections have never been my thing, either, Kim - I completely get where you're coming from. I often wish designers would just concentrate on two seasons and put their best work into those - but I guess I can't have everything! There are some lovely resort collections each year; I really did love Brock this season, the colours and fabrics are so beautiful.

Resort is one of my favourites. The collections are actually better and more wearable.
ReplyDeleteThat middle dress from Chloe - wow! Beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Kim - I don't mind prints, but in small doses. Head to toe is too much for me.
Away From The Blue
Thank you for this series, Kim. Must admit I've been really lazy lately when it comes to collections, so I love seeing the curated posts:D Your picks are always bang on!
ReplyDeleteI love these series, Kim! Culottes are hot, but so hard to pull off. I'm loving the mustard yellow look from Altuzarra and the minimalistic look from Prabal Gurung. So beautiful! Btw, did you ever watch the Elvis and Me movie? I found it on youtube, but I'm not sure if it's good.

Gosh, you've cherry-picked so many fantastic looks! I'm also not at all a fan of culottes, however those aside, there's plenty to admire! The khaki, safari-esque vibe of Fendi is killing me and Romee Strijd looks fantastic in Tomas Maier!

Hey Kim,
ReplyDeleteOoh... I always love to see collections put together. You know, I find such posts a lot of effort and I really appreciate that you have painstakingly chose the looks that you like as a feast for our eyes. Large bold prints everywhere, culottes etc... Those don't sound like what I like too and so when I look at what you put together, I think you did it perfect. I love the Brock dress on the extreme right. That looks totally like what I would wear for work. I tend to have a soft spot for Elie Saab. I love those soft summery lacy look!

They are all so lovely....Armani really appeals to me!
ReplyDeleteI used to be more of a fan of big bold prints but I'm more of a minimalist these days so I'm totally down with your picks Kim! I especially like the restrained elegance of the Balenciaga and Rochas collections.

Elie Saab is such a fantastic designer, and these collections are just fab. P.S: I don't like prints from head to toe either!
ReplyDeleteAltuzzarra is calling my name…. but ODLR is stepping up the game.
