Asian Snacks Part Two

My blog buddy and friend from Little Luxury List sent me another box filled with delicious Asian snacks! You may remember the first box she sent here. I love sampling international food/beauty products and I thought it was so sweet of her to send these to me. She also sent me Skin Food's Steam Milk Cleanser! I've been wanting to try this. I'm going to do a review later this year on it, because there's a Steam Milk Cream that I want to try with it. She also knows I LOVE Fresh Sugar Lip Balms! So she bought me the full size Fresh Sugar Lip Balm in Rose! Do you know how expensive those are? I'm so grateful, because it's one less thing I have to buy when Sephora has their November sale. I'm using the Fresh Advance Formula right now, and after that I'll use the one she purchased for me. Thank You :) Ok, below are the treats! Also, get excited! I'll be doing TWO WEEKS of Too Faced reviews! I've really gathered quite a collection over the past several months, and never used or reviewed anything! LOL So, be sure to follow me on Snapchat and Periscope to see all the deets ;) Have a great weekend everybody!

Rice Crackers And Peanuts

This is my favorite! These are so good! I've eaten over 1/2 the bag already! The peanuts taste like roasted peanuts. The crackers are crunchy (sort of like a pretzel but definitely not as hard) and have a little flavor to them (like a seasoning). I love that these are not overly salty. It's just the right amount. Excellent snack!

Dried Mangoes

Now lets go from salty to sweet! This was my next favorite! You're probably saying, well Kim these are just dried mangoes. I've had dried fruit before and it didn't taste like this! These mangoes were still chewy. They tasted like real mangoes. They were very sweet. I don't know about you, but I've had some sour ones before. So glad these weren't! LOL Just very delicious! Loved them.

Tokyo Banana

When I opened the box, my American self said TWINKIES! LMAOOOOOOO Don't they look like Hostess Twinkies (here and ooops that's little debbie here)? Well, they're sponge cake. They also have a banana filling. However, that banana filling is truly mashed bananas. I love bananas. I just don't like them mashed. I'm weird. LOL These are not sweet like a Twinkie. They taste pretty good. Maybe my palate needs to adjust. You know what? It just hit me. These are like Angel/Sponge/Cake with mashed banana. That's what it seems like to me. Much healthier than a twinkie! LOL Maybe if I add a little frosting to these >.< so bad! LOL

Shrimp Crackers

Another blogger and friend (Becks from Oomph), saw my Snapchat of these yesterday and told me the official name of them, but when I went back to Snapchat it was GONE! Snapchat does that crap to you. So if she reads this (or anyone else), maybe she can tell me their official name again. Okay, don't laugh! You're laughing! These crackers remind me of Catholic communion wafers. THEY DO! Only bigger. They're that light. They do have a shrimp flavor. I love shrimp, but I couldn't get with these. I tried! Oh well! So I liked 3 out of 4! Super loved 1 and 2. I want to THANK my friend for sending me these. I really do appreciate it and I'm very thankful! She's an angel!

  9. It's funny how much our community influences what we eat - at any given time I have at least one of these snacks in my house, if not all of them! Cebu dried mangos are my absolute favourite. Sadly we can't have shrimp crackers anymore because my husband has developed a shellfish allergy but I loved those, too - although they are better in rice chip form, I think. Maybe you'll try those next time, they might appeal to you more :)

  10. I'm not a huge fan of dried fruits but my husband loves them! My ex colleagues used to buy some for me whenever they visit the Philippines for work and my husband would finish a whole packet in one sitting. LOL! Shrimp crackers are the best! I buy them all the time in Malaysia and it's one of my favourite snacks....and now you just made me feel a little home sick. LOL!

  11. The Tokyo Banana cakes are so cute! I can totally see why they reminded you of Twinkies Kim ;p The rest of snacks look so good as well. I like Asian dried mangos too. I just can't eat too many of them. My husband on the other hand can eat a whole bag in one sitting so I always have to take them away from him haha. That was sweet of LLL to put together such a great care package for you :)

  20. I have long heard about Tokyo Banana but never try. One thing I regret is that we didn't buy or try a lot of Japanese snacks. It is great to know what it tastes like through your post Kim. I like Asian snacks because they are not as sweet.

  21. I love that you're trying new and different foods, I'm so keen to begin broadening my horizons though I have a lot of food allergies and so perhaps for now, I'll just live vicariously through you haha :) Also, it was so sweet of your friend to send you a couple of beauty/skincare products as well!

  22. OOOh! All these are all so familiar to me. I love those rice snacks too. They are a little glossy and I love to lick and suck the gloss off coz those are the seasoned salty parts. Cebu Mango is very popular in Singapore too. They are the best brand for dried mangoes. I used to love them but now I find them too sweet. A slice or 2 is fine. I have a love-hate relationship with Tokyo Banana. Any Singaporean who goes to Japan would come home with this and everyone would get oh so crazy over them. I love how soft the sponge is and how light the banana flavour is. Love just this right amount of sweetness but I find that there is a strong artificial banana taste to it.

Glad you enjoyed all these snacks! You could move to Asia soon!
