Yesterday I showed you Too Faced's Love Flush Blush in
Baby Love, and mentioned I was going to add something to it! Well that something is Too Faced's
Candlelight Glow Highlighting Powder Duo. Too Faced has an illuminating, translucent Candlelight PRESSED POWDER (never tried), but Candlelight GLOW is different. It's a HIGHLIGHTING POWDER. The purpose of a highlighter is to add LUMINOSITY and LIGHT to the face. When I applied the Baby Love
blush to my cheeks, I said how can I brighten this up and give my look some dimension (it's flat)? I immediately thought of the Candlelight Glow I purchased a couple of months ago (but never opened LOL) and applied it atop the blush.
It really changed my entire look. I didn't apply much, but the small amount I did apply BRIGHTENED me up. Over years and as you age (boy do I know), your natural glow diminishes. Highlighters bring that glow back to your face. I'm currently obsessed with them.
Here are the ones I've tried. There are so many more I want to try. There's also a brand new spanking trend in makeup called strobing. Just like contouring was HUGE the beginning of the year, strobing is the next IT thing. Companies are already developing products. But let me get back to Candlelight Glow! There's a beautiful chandelier centered within the powder and the powder is divided in half. One side is sheer golden. The other side is called gilded rose. When I swatched them separately, they looked the same (as shown below), but swirled together they create a highlighter that is very beautiful. A little goes a very long way and will compliment any color of blush. I'm glad I purchased it. Candlelight Glow is not new. It's been out for some time. I just never tried it and thought it would be a great add for my makeup collection. I placed some down the middle of my nose, brow bone, above my blush (and then blended it with my blush) and then I brushed some on each collarbone. What do you think? Do you use highlighters? Do you have a current favorite? Tomorrow and through the weekend will be sponsored posts. I'll be back Monday, with the second week of Too Faced products. Join me on Snapchat and Periscope for a preview (averysweetblog). I'll have a Too Faced Giveaway next week!

I love the name of this, because it makes me think of a romantic dinner for two by candlelight.
Soft lighting always creates beautiful ambiance. People do look great by candlelight. >.<

Ooooo....Kim, you look uber fab with this combo. This highlighter really works for you:) I don't use highlighters much except on special occasions, and I think it's a MAC one. Must really get my hands on this Too Faced though.
ReplyDeleteToo Faced packaging kills me every single time - it's far too gorgeous for it's own good! It's nice to know their products are living up to expectations set by their appearance too, you're positively glowing!! ;)

Very pretty Kim! I see the packaging seems to be thin and therefore should be great to have on the go.

That highlight is gorgoues Kim. And you look very pretty! I've seen this around but never satched it. I might have to pick it up because I'm obsessed with highlighters right now
ReplyDeleteThis really gives you such a pretty glow Kim but best of all is how natural it looks. And that packaging is the cutest! I use RMS Living Luminizer and I love how subtle it is.

You look LOVELY and that glow really enhanced the youthfulness. I love makeup and powder that add glow yo your face but boy have I learned how difficult it could be to apply. Many times I end up looking like I can fry an egg on my face..haha. Too shiny and greasy. You did it right and looked great, Kim.
ReplyDeleteHighlighters are a must for me and I completely understand what you meant by our glow disappears as we age. I'm facing that now hence I can't be without highlighters. This highlighter is gorgeous on you, Kim. It does make a whole lot of differences but in a very natural way.

This looks like a lovely highlighter and a fantastic cheek combo! I have a collection of highlighters, but I neglect them so much. I guess it's time to use them. I need to see what this strobing thing can do for me! lol
ReplyDeleteI have noticed a lot of brands making glowing makeup. I like the way these look on you. I only in recent years have gotten into highlighting and contouring. You look amazing in these shots Kim. Thanks for hte review.

Wow Kim - I loved the blush on you in your last post by this highlighter takes it to an entirely new level. You look refreshed, like you just slept for as long as you needed and are ready to take on the world. That is an amazing accomplishment for a highlighter!

Omg! Ok, I need this! I am always up for that fresh, youthful glow. I've been using Korean products for the past few years, but I think I am definitely gonna get myself the Too Faced Candlelight Glow. I should probably turn away from your blog right about now, I think my list of stuff to buy is growing because of your blog. Hahahaha.
ReplyDeleteSoooo pretty and I love the name too. I need to get a highlighter in my makeup bag ASAP. Been thinking about getting one...though I've been kind of obsessed with Korean Cosmetics lately! lol...
