Over the Thanksgiving holidays, Tarte released their NEW
tartelette in bloom amazonian clay eyeshadow palette and
tarteist contour palette. I picked up both. You may remember, I wasn't as thrilled (as everyone else was) with Tarte's initial
tartelette eyeshadow palette. I think I was disappointed with the pigmentation of the shades. Well, I'm happy to say this palette has much more punch to it! Tarte has incorporated both shimmers and mattes into this palette, which is always nice. All are richly pigmented! You only need 1-2 swipes! Fallout is also minimal :) Tarte kept the same super-fabulous, sleek and sophisticated palette design, mirror and added a beautiful array of COLOR to the front of the palette. The design is very pretty. This palette will also fit in the palm of your hand. So traveling with it will be easy. Tarte uses the word bloom (like a flower), but this is a VERY neutral palette. Practically all of these shades can be found in other eye shadow palettes (so that doesn't make them very unique), BUT these popular colors are all housed in the SAME palette (so ask yourself, do you have a palette that has all of these or would you have to bring several palettes to get the same colors). As you can see, it depends on what's in YOUR collection (whether you need this or not). That was the only thing that kept it from getting a Supersweet rating. Overall, I'm pleased :)
Sweet-Bittersweet-NotSweet
supersweet(run & buy it) sweet(really good,buy it) bittersweet(ok, issues)not sweet(not good,don't buy this stuff)
Tarte's Tartelette In Bloom Eye Shadow Palette is Sweet
1st: charmer, jetsetter, rocker, smokeshow
2nd: flower child, smarty pants, firecracker, activist
3rd: funny girl, sweetheart, rebel, leader
(swatched without primer)
The packaging and the shades are stunning need to get my hands on one.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a cute set Kim! I'm glad that it works for you product-wise as well, that's a bonus that they have improved it! :)

Supersweet! I love Tarte cosmetics. I can see where the pigments are similar to those in other pallets, but it is nice to have them in one collection. Thanks for sharing your review! XO, Ellese

Ooooo...this looks for very nice, Kim:) I don't have a lot of Tarte stuff, so a palette like this would be great for me:D

The packaging is to die for. And two swipes sound good.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried Tarte cosmetics. And on top of that, I really probably never need another eyeshadow wallet considering how long it takes me to use them. But these colours are so beautiful! You have me seriously considering a purchase, Kim ;)

Great review, Kim! I've heard of the palette, but haven't seen it in person yet, nor have I read or seen a review, so this was very helpful! I personally love Tarte, as they are animal cruelty free and use mostly organic and natural ingredients in their products. With that, I can see what you mean in regards to the lack of creativity in the colors. I have the first Chocolate palette and these colors look quite similar to the ones in that one. I think the name also doesn't go along with the colors, as bloom which is synonymous with flowers, usually causes more vibrant colors to come to mind. If anything, I think they should have included berry and pink colors WITH some neutrals, to give off the earthy nature feel. Nonetheless, they look pretty and the color payoff does look great!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and I hope you have a wonderful day :)

I don't have the tartelette palette, but this would be the one of the two I would go for. As much as I love matte shades, you can't release a palette this time of year and not have a little sparkle in it! I agree that it isn't original, but it seems to be very good quality. Thanks for reviewing this!
ReplyDeleteI think this palette is gorgeous Kim! I'm trying to hold back tom buying it since I do have other similar shadows already and I have the first one too! I love how the included a few shimmer shadows in here too. And ohh the blush and contour palette that thy released looks so nice too!

ReplyDeleteIt's great that this new tartelette eyeshadow palette is much improved over the first one you got Kim. The neutral colors don't look particularly unique but they sure are pretty and wearable.
ReplyDeleteomg!! I'm in love with this palette! The collors look absolutely yummy even though i'm not much of a netral palette person <# Every single one of the colors look great and to be quite honest I'm in love with the purpe-wish and pink-ish package *3*
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, that is a stunning neutral palette and I like how it's a good mixture of matte and shimmer shades. Not sure how much this palette is retailing here in Canada but I will show hubby and drop a huge not so subtle hint. :-P
