Airport lounges used to be a hub for boredom

We all travel a lot more than previous generations did. It’s now easier than ever to book and take a flight, but somehow it seems we’re often hanging around a lot more than in the old days. A lot of this is due to the fact that you have to get to the airport so much earlier than you use to in order to clear security and be sure that you make your flight. But, thanks to the ubiquitous smartphone, just because we have to hang around at airport terminals a bit longer than we use to, we need never be bored. We can simply make use of the airport Wi-Fi and enjoy some entertainment via different apps in order to pass the time. Of course, the range of apps available to us is huge, so it’s always good to refresh your entertainment apps once in a while. Here are just a few suggestions of the type of apps you shouldn’t leave home without.A Sociable Game of Chance
You don't have to wait for opening hours to play bingo on a mobile or online
Picture Credit: Bingo Sign (CC BY 2.0) by CarbonNYC[IN SF!]Once your bingo cards are in play, the software deals with marking off the numbers that match the calls automatically, so that leaves you free to do other things as the game goes through. As well as giving you a 24/7 schedule of bingo games, there are lots of other real money games you can play, from casino table games to slots. So, it’s a great way to have a variety of games from just one provider. Alternatively, you can just sit and watch your progress in the bingo game and chat to other players in the bingo chat rooms.
Discover your artistic side
Doodle games are another great choice for an app to travel with. You don’t need to be a great artist to play, you just have to be able to draw some recognisable shapes that other players will be able to guess to play Draw Something. The more you play, the better your art skills will become. And if you just want to draw without playing a game, pick an app such as ColorBox.Be musical
Unwind with a musical gaming app
There are lots of great musical gaming apps out there, but one of the most popular is Piano Tiles. Players tap only the black and not the white tiles that scroll over the screen. The black tiles play notes from songs as you tap. The greater the number of taps on black tiles, the more music you’ll hear and the higher your score becomes. You’re out if you tap a white tile.Puzzle games
Whether you’re on your way to another country, or you’re just sitting on a local commuter train, there’s always a puzzle gaming app to keep you amused. Games like Candy Crush and Bejeweled are obvious choices. But if you’ve tired of playing these, delete them from your phone and start again with some fresh new puzzle game apps. The Room Two is the second of Fireproof Studios’ series and involves a physical puzzle with mysteries to solve. You need to prod and twist on-screen items in order to get to the bottom of a cryptic tale. These puzzles are a genuine challenge, so will allow you to get fully absorbed in the task in front of you and forget that your flight has been delayed!
This is perfect...haha next time I go traveling I'll be sure to refer to this! :D

I think the puzzle game would be my first choice. I am not all that crazy about music. I do agree with you. We do travel more. And the airport security does not make it easy sometimes. Thanks for sharing these apps, doll. Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat Doodle Game would be perfect to play with the kids:) I've only travelled on a plane with the whole family once so far, and yeah....entertainment= less headache...bwahahaha
ReplyDeleteThank for this fun list Kim! I usually catch up on my K-dramas or read a book when I'm at the airport but Maybe I'll try a game or too next time. Piano Tiles sounds like it would be a blast.
ReplyDeleteA great guide Kim; I tend to opt for miniature travel games when I'm travelling with others, or simple magazine for when I'm alone :)

Candy Crush ruled my iPhone for ages until I got to level 200plus and it was either smashing my mobile or delete the darn game. My phone survived. LOL!

These are all great suggestions Kim! And it's so nice we have our smart phones to pass time when we have to wait for things like inside an air port! Lucky too that we can get book apps on our phone if we want to read but don't have room for the bulky books!
ReplyDeleteOh, this is great! I always download extra apps before I go on a trip.
ReplyDeleteSo very true, airport delays and waiting are no longer as boring as they used to be thanks to wi fi and all the apps out there. Thanks for sharing these great ones with us babe.

Yup, yup, yup! :) Great topic choice, Kim. I'm spending my vacations in Spain this summer and have to be at the airport TWO hours earlier before the actual flight. So... some great entertainment tips are high appreciated. <3
