NYX Lip Lingerie Review & Swatches
I hated these! LOL I know I'm always telling you guys, not to hate anything...BUT I HATED THESE WITH A PASSION! NYX Cosmetics came out with 12 Matte Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipsticks. I purchased 6 on sale and totally regret it. These have to be THE DRIEST liquid lipsticks I have ever tried. Let's talk good! The packaging is gorgeous! I was like WOW, this is NYX!?! The lipsticks apply so good when they FIRST go on, but then as they dry down (all hell breaks loose), your lips will LOOK CRACKED UP LIKE THE SAHARA DESERT! These liquid lipsticks show every line possible. I didn't like the way they felt or looked on my lips. You're probably asking, then why are you SMILING in those pics below Kim...YOU BETTER SMILE ALL DAY SO THOSE CRACKS & LINES WON"T SHOW! Two of the colors (Honeymoon & Embellishment), literally make me look DEAD (GHASTLY)! I will keep those two for HALLOWEEN! They're perfect if you want to be a zombie! One ray of hope was Exotic! For some reason, it performed well and differently from the others. So I don't know if I picked the wrong 6 out of 12, but I wouldn't recommend these to ANYBODY! I beg you, don't waste your money! Somebody at NYX should be F-I-R-E-D! I won't be buying NYX anything anytime soon! The colors & formula are off!
Oh my gosh! Thank you so much for this, Kim. NYX finally came to our nearby drugstore, and I was looking forward to getting these, but they're always sold out. Good to know! You just saved me some $$$!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your honest thoughts on these lipsticks Kim! They seem to be quite popular but based on your experience they definitely don't sound like they're worth the hype at all. Exotic does look really nice on you. At least it worked better than the others as well.

Thanks for the heads up Kim, and love your humour as well. Nobody wants cracked lips, and oh goodness I loathe lip colours that make your lips so dry. The "embellishment" colour scares me quite a bit, but the other colours look nice, despite their poor functionality. :)

Now they are fashionable matte lips, I crave these colors, it hurts are not good! the tones look really prety, you've bought six hurt in vain.

Yikes, too bad you didn't like them. The shades are pretty but I agree with you that it looked quite dry when applied to the lips. Thanks for the honest reviews.

ReplyDeleteWow Honeymoon really does not live up to it's name - agree it's a zombie like colour! Shame that these don't work, especially after buying 6 of them, but at least they weren't full price :)

I am so sad to hear this because NYX is typically a pretty good brand! Like, I trust them, you know? But I also hate liquid lipsticks anyway because they ALL look like the Sahara desert dropped by on me.

Ha ha, any post that starts with "I hated these" is one I have to read because now I know to stay away - I haven't had the great experiences with Nyx that so many others seem to have and I will definitely be staying away from their liquid lipsticks now, thanks to you :)

The packaging is lovely, such a shame the actual product doesn't hold up :( Thanks so much for this honest review. Did you try the ones from Revlon? I like it, but I've never tried any of the higher brand liquid lipsticks and this is the only liquid lippie I've tried, so I don't have anything to compare it's quality to; I'm curious to know what you think of them. Well, Kim! You went straight to it, didn't ya? They look so dry on your lips, Kim! I bought a matte lipstick from them 2 years ago, and now I have to use a lip gloss before applying it. I think it shows more than fine lines.

ReplyDeleteOh, goodness! These were on my list of products to try, but I'm glad I read your review before buying them. I'm not super into the liquid lipstick formula anyway, so I will be staying away from these.
