When Too Faced first gave the beauty community a glimpse of their new
Peanut Butter and Jelly Eye Shadow Palette (currently sold out on Too Faced, but available on
Ulta) on social media, I knew I had to add it to my makeup collection. Everything about it was cute from the inside-out. I didn't care if none of the colors worked, I wanted it for the packaging alone. This palette is actually a spin-off of
Too Faced's Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Palette. Everyone (including me) LOVED the peanut butter shade in that palette. Jerrod noticed that and made this mini palette. This palette is the size of the
Too Faced Sugar Pop Palette! It easily fits into the palm of your hand or purse ;) It has a very dainty peanut butter scent. In all honesty, it smells like sugar wafers to my nose. HaHaHa A lot of people were very concerned if this palette actually contained PEANUTS (because many suffer from peanut allergies). The answer is NO! It DOES NOT contain any actual peanuts :) No detail was left unturned with this palette. The background features realistic peanut shells. There's a cute slice of bread that has peanut butter spread over it, with grape jelly lips. The inside boasts a real mirror and the style guide gives you three looks. The palette is divided into three sections (Soft & Sweet, Rich & Creamy and PB&J). I LOVE the first two sections!!! The first 3 shades (Spread the Love, Peanut Butter, Peanut Butter Cup) reminded me a little of
Tarte's Poppy Picnic Palette. They are a blend of pinky-peach & brown shades, which compliment many skin tones. All are very soft, wearable & compatible. I love the next 3 as well. Bananas is a beautiful shimmery gold. Peanut brittle is a shimmery copper-bronze. And Jammin' is a soft dark purple. What threw me for a loop, was the last section of colors. I probably won't be using Extra Creamy or Jelly anytime soon. A stark white and that shade of purple don't compliment me. Nuts About U compliments Peanut Brittle from the second group, so that should be fun to work with. So my friends, where I wasn't expecting much from this palette, really proved to be a winner. Now I'm waiting for them to release their PEACH palette. Many (including me) are very excited about it >.< Have a great day! A cupcake for your thoughts...

OMG, Kim, I think you just sold me on this palette! How cute and the shades are so pretty too! It's good to know there's no real peanuts in it, so many have nuts allergy so it's nice to know they are careful with it.

Now this is clever and so adorable. Thanks for always telling us about the latest collaborations for makeup Kim, because I am sometimes behind on mainstream brand collabs. I think I would love some of these colours, especially "Jammin" and "Peanut Brittle," and I already adore the packaging.

The peanut butter and jelly is such a fun concept for a palette! I love that jelly color on your skin.
ReplyDeleteThis adorable packaging is pretty irresistible Kim! It's even better that some of the shades actually work well for you too. Bananas and Jammin' look gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThis palette is so you Kim! I actually thought about you when I first heard about it. I didn't know that it was a spin off of the semi sweet palette. You know I love that one a lot, so now I'm super tempted to pick this up. I love the peanut butter shade. All the shadows in this are so gorgeous, and that nuts about you shade looks like something I would love!! I'm waiting for that peach palette to be released too lol!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the peanutbutter shade and the nuts about you shade. I am almost tempted to pick this up just for those two shadows lol The packaging is adorable like all Too Faced palettes.
ReplyDeleteThis must be one of the cutest palettes I've ever seen, and I'm digging all the shades! TY for the review, Kim. And yeah...can't wait for the Peach palette too:)

I have gone back and forth on whether I wanted to get this palette or not. But, after seeing your pictures and swatches I can say that I would use every single shade in this palette. It's so pretty! Thank you for this review!
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable! The shades look very rich and pigmented. It was so fun to read about this! So creative!

Too faced does the cutest packaging but I always find I only like about half the colours in their palettes. The shades I love in this selection, I really love. But the deep purple and pink are really not for me. I'll stick with their bronzers for now, which are my favourites :)
