What Are Your Thoughts On The Beautyblender?

Having the right tools is so important in makeup application! I love my makeup brushes, but I am really warming up to the Beautyblender :) I must admit, I wasn't a fan at first. But I also wasn't using it correctly! LOL Now I love the finish it gives me when I apply my foundation. It also blends my concealer with ease and gives me better coverage. It's so important to wet your Beautyblender! The first time I did, it was too wet. HaHaHa In the video, it says to squeeze and use a paper towel to get the excess water out. Some people use a spray water bottle to mist it. I like spraying mine with Smashbox Primer Water. I also prefer putting my liquid foundation on the back of my hand and dabbing the Beautyblender into the product. But now, there's a circular plastic tray that you can purchase (surface simple) if you don't want to put products on the back of your hand! HaHaHa How fancy! Why am I thinking about buying it? LOL I originally purchased the pink Beautyblender, but I'm more smitten with the nude one (only at Sephora ... Why!?!?). After using, it doesn't look as dirty as the pink one. I'm also interested in purchasing the white one for for application of skincare products (primer, moisturizer, eye cream). I haven't tried the Beautyblender with blushes, contouring creams or powder products. Not sure how that would turn out. Let me know your thoughts/techniques on the Beautyblender! Do you use it or something else? Or do you prefer makeup brushes? I found these two videos on Popsugar Beauty / Kirbie Johnson (YouTube). She's funny!

  1. Haha, Kirbie is great! I haven't invested in the actual Beauty Blender, but I've gotten similar and satisfactory effects from the Real Techniques makeup sponge. I really do love the dewy finish it gives my makeup!
Perhaps next time I'm due for an upgrade I'll try the Beauty Blender :)

  4. I don't use the beauty blender but my daughter does and she like it. I just use disposable beauty sponges for the drug store that seem to work out nice for me.
Thanks for this review on the blender.
Hope you have a nice week and holiday.

  7. I'm probably one of the few people in the world who still applies foundation with their fingers. I know it's old-fashioned but I still find I get better results with my hands than with a brush. But I haven't tried the BeautyBlender and I admit, I am intrigued. But the fact that it's a sponge and can absorb product and dirt also seems a bit gross to me ;)

  8. I love the beauty blender! I love brushes too but I use the BB way more. And I won't use brushes for my concealer anymore because the BB works so much better. I got the nude one a few months ago and I love it a lot more then the pink one. The texture is better too! And I wouldn't even have thought to use the white one for primers and stuff like you said! That's a great idea, Kim!

  9. I had seen it in stores and in make up artists' instagram shots but it was not until last week that I actually saw how it works. So, I am going to buy one and give it a try....

  10. This product looks fantastic for use with liquid foundation. I still love powder mineral foundation but will remember this one when my skin changes and wants me to use liquid again!

  12. I have never purchased a beauty blender because I always thought it would be a pain to have to wet it every time I use it and I figured it would soak up alot of products and take away from the product I am trying to put on my face not add to it. But everyone seems to love them!

  13. I have never purchased the original Beauty blender but I have been using makwup sponges which I won't admit are extremely cheap and I actually prefer the way it blends then a brush to me a brush is harder to blend foundation with as for a sponge it gives such a beautiful finish

  14. I'm getting more into using the BeautyBlender too! I thought it was too much trouble to use at first, but I love it now! I've used mine for cream blushes, and it applies them well. I also like to use it for applying setting powder to my t-zone.

  15. I've always heard great things about the Beautyblender but I've never tried it. I'm not sure if I ever will now since I'm all about cushion compacts these days where the rubycell puff is include in the compact. I think they're so cute especially the pink ones :)

  18. I am no makeup pro, although I love beauty creams, serums, and masks. I am very basic when it comes to makeup, so of course I didn't know it had to be wet, lol! I bought a beauty blender, but only used it once dry, hehe. Glad you posted this video!

  22. It is really important to use damp sponge or there is no benefit of using it. Thanks for sharing videos.

  25. I was always hesitant to but a beauty blender as I didn't want to spend so much on a sponge. So I invested in makeup brushes instead. The beauty blender is a holy grail product for many makeup junkies out there. I think I should give it a try as it gives a really flawless finish.
