Another palette I purchased towards the end of last year (ULTA), was the
Becca Afterglow Palette (construction made me hide away all my new makeup). The Afterglow Palette contains three (3) Shimmering Skin Perfectors PRESSED in Moonstone, Rose Gold & Topaz AND two (2) Mineral Blushes in Wild Honey & Flowerchild. Remember, Becca offers their Skin Perfectors in POURED, PRESSED & LIQUID (as discussed
HERE). Well this palette just confirms, that I love PRESSED (& LIQUID).
Remember how I didn't like the Rose Gold POURED? Well, I LOVE Rose Gold PRESSED! It looks so good on the nose & as a blush topper. Same for Topaz! Topaz POURED if applied too heavily looked muddy on me, but the PRESSED version is very beautiful. I was worried that Moonstone was too white (chalky) for my complexion, but surprisingly it wasn't. When applied, it gives a nice glow. You don't need very much of these, because they are highly pigmented. This palette also gives you some great options, if you're on the go a lot or travel. For me, it was cheaper to buy than purchasing all of these separately (plus, I didn't know if I would like skin perfectors). Now, the two blushes. I've never tried Becca's blushes before. I recently purchased one of their newer ones ... Luminous Blush Blushed Copper (can't wait to try). The formula is great! They're very pigmented and apply well to the skin. For me, it was the choice of colors that was a little problematic. Wild Honey, is beautiful but applies lighter than shown in the palette. So it kind of blended into my skin. I may just need to apply more. It's very subtle. When I swatched Flowerchild on the back of my hand, I felt it was a pink that wouldn't agree with me. It wasn't quite my favorite pink, but it looks much better on. This palette is very sleek, streamlined and I love that it contains a built in mirror. It fits comfortably in your hands, so it's not cumbersome and as I mentioned previously it gives you some really nice options. Overall, I'm very pleased and can see myself getting lots of use out of it.

The Becca Afterglow Palette is Sweet
Moonstone is one of my favorites!! Rose gold and topaz look way more appealing in the presses form. I love how rose gold looks, and your right that it looks like a beautiful blush topper! Both the blushes in here look pretty too. Maybe wild honey would work better for a blush topper as well! I love the idea of this palette, and your right that it's probably cheaper because it's hard to finish up full sizes of highlighters. My problem would be how tiny the blushes are, because my blush brush is so big lol!!! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on these, Kim!
ReplyDeleteOh my, its soooo pretty!!!! Very Sweet!!

The palette itself is pretty and the shades are divine doll. Have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a lovely palette Kim! Great you're going to be able to get a lot of use out of it, and so interesting that there is such a difference with the pressed and poured formulas :)

This Afterglow palette looks pretty fab, Kim:) I honestly would love to see a vid of your makeup collection. It must be amazing! I tend to get overwhelmed with a lot of stuff, so I love reading your reviews. It helps me really narrow down stuff to check out in stores.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, my dear:) XOXO
I so wanted to get this palette, however it was out of stock then I can't find it in European websites :( They are gorgeous and the packaging is sleek, it is also travel friendly which is perfect!

The palette itself is gorgeous and so are the colors inside. I also find that sometimes it's actually cheaper to purchase a palette than individual colors but somehow you also will end up with a few that just don't work.
ReplyDeleteI've been hearing and seeing so much about Becca lately, I'm really intrigued by the products they offer - but then again, I just brought home two very similar kits this week from other brands, so I may have to hold off on giving Becca a try for now, although the colours do look gorgeous!

I saw this and was contemplating of purchasing it but my budget didn't allow me to buy at that time and I completely forgotten about it. I'm currently waiting the endless wait for Becca x Jaclyn Hills face palette to be back in stock, I want it so bad but the damn thing has been out of stock since launch!

These products look so pretty. I have never tried Becca cosmetics.
ReplyDeleteThe palette itself is pretty and the shades are gorgeous! Totally my kind of shades. I have never tried Becca's eye shadows before but I really want to.

This sounds like a palette that I would actually buy and use, with the exception of what you mentioned about Wild honey. It's beautiful in packaging and also the swatches look pretty as well. I can't wait to see your big reveal Kim, and happy to hear that the renovations are going seemingly well. Also, thanks so much for your lovely comment! <3 /Madison

This is a gorgeous palette, Kim! I have one of the older Becca blushes, and I love it! I can't wait to try one of the newer ones. You make a good point about the difference between the different formulas and textures of the same shade. I'm glad the powder formulas work for you so well!
ReplyDeleteThis is a pretty palette. I'm glad the pressed highlighters worked better for you than the poured. Last summer I got a Becca kit that came with a mini rose gold. I wore it ALL SUMMER as it looked really good with my tan skin. Its too dark of a highlighter for me now without a tan but I really liked it once my skintone was darker. Unfortunatley it broke somehow but I managed to save some of it. I have moonstone too but don't use it often as its pretty dramatic on me. I'm glad that you are happy with this palette!
ReplyDeleteI'm all about the shimmer! So pretty!

I like very much the skin perfectors while I think the blushes are too fair, except for the bright pink. I'd love to see you wearing them! Much love, Valeria
ReplyDeleteFirst off, I LOVE the packaging, it's so sleek and somewhat girly, I really love it! I also love both Rose Gold and Topaz. I've tried a rose gold (perfecter ?! I don't know what it's called, haha) and I didn't like the way it looked on me, though I still look at in my quad, wishing I could wear it! I use a color similar to Topaz now and really love it, especially for summer! Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have an amazing weekend ahead!

I can imagine that the rose gold would be so pretty over applied over blush. This is such a pretty palette and I just adore it. Becca has some great products.

The colours look great. The pink is very nice.
ReplyDeleteOh Kim, your reviews are killing my wallet...lol another palette I've put on my wishlist! I'm obsessed with glowing lately (like, highlighted glow, not blacklight glow hehe) and have been achieving the highlight I prefer with two or three highlight products (seriously, I'm obsessed). So I would looove to try Moonstone! It looks beautiful 0_o

I love palettes with built-in mirror too. I like the pigmentation.
ReplyDeleteBecca palettes are so beautiful. I have some of the individual pressed powders, but none of the palettes.
