I've collaborated with Community Coffee Company again! Many of my readers know I absolutely love them. They're locally owned and have excellent coffee. The brand has been a staple in my family (my grandfather religiously purchased this brand) for many years. They sent me two varieties of coffee! Thank You Community Coffee! Below are my thoughts on each & since football season is just around the corner, I've included some fun tailgate traditions & tips.
Community Coffee Limited Edition Saints Blend Special Dark Roast Coffee & Sweepstakes
I thought it was really cool, that Community Coffee put together a limited edition New Orleans Saints Blend Coffee! It's not just about slapping the Saints logo on a package, but truly creating a coffee that is the essence of New Orleans. Many locals like their coffee bold & dark! This blend is 100% Arabica :) It's full bodied and tastes delicious. The New Orleans Saints Football Team has been around 50 years in the NFL! I think this is a wonderful acknowledgement. Community Coffee is hosting a Sweepstakes! From July - September, they're giving away coffee (500 instant win prizes) and a chance to win an all expense paid trip to Houston, Texas to see the big game! Community Coffee Company has released Saints Blend, a new blend in honor of the New Orleans Saints’ 50th Season. Bold and distinctive, this full-bodied, special dark roast will be available for a limited time only in 12-ounce bags. Community® Saints Blend delivers the same high-quality, 100% select Arabica coffee that Louisiana fans have come to love and expect. Community Coffee Company launches the new product offering as a way to acknowledge the loyalty of its consumers and showcase the brand’s central role in New Orleans culture. This new product launch coincides with the New Orleans Saints’ 50th Season in the National Football League and is only one of many ways that the team and its fans are gearing up for success this season. Along with the Saints’ commemorative uniform patch, Community® Saints Blend celebrates this historical milestone and serves as an important symbol for those who have grown up in the region. “We’re excited to give Saints fans a blend of their own,” said Scott Eckert, vice president of marketing at Community Coffee Company. “Whether you plan to simply enjoy a cup at home or share with guests at your next tailgate party, we hope the Saints Blend makes you proud to be a part of our amazing heartland.” Limited time only Saints Blend products can be found in grocery stores throughout Louisiana and Mississippi, as well as online at CommunityCoffee.com.
Some Tailgate Traditions & Tips
1. Team Colors - It's so important to show support! Wear the team's colors/logo. In New Orleans, we wear black & gold on game days, Saints paraphernalia and lots of fleur de lis'.
2. Delicious Food - What's a tailgate without something yummy to eat!?! In New Orleans, you'll the classics: hamburgers & hot dogs, BUT you'll also see local favorites such as red beans & rice, jambalaya, shrimp etouffe, daiquiris and po-boys. Also consider people with special diets attending (ex. diabetics).
3. Let's Hear It For The Boys - For the pre-celebration and if you decide to stay outside the stadium, it's important to have a radio. Some use their cars & trucks to listen to the game. Others there cell phones (bring your charger) and some use classic radios.
4. Hydrate & Protect - If you're tailgating outdoors, protect yourself from the sun by using sunscreen (apply 30 minutes before and every 2 hours afterwards), wear a hat & sunglasses. Protect yourself from mosquitoes with bug spray. A first aid kit is also smart to have on board, in case of an emergency. Also antacids, in case anyone eats too much LOL Also, it gets very hot & humid here in New Orleans, so bring a cooler filled with water. It's important to hydrate.
5. Get Rest & Bring Your Best Attitude - Be sure to get lots of rest the night before! Tailgating is fun but can be exhausting. You're outside for a long time! Keep it festive and everyone will enjoy the party.
You can't go wrong with anything that has mocha and vanilla together...hehe...And seriously...one of my life goals is to be in a tailgate party of some sort although I don't really watch football. It's pretty much just the summer and winter olympics I'm really into.:P
ReplyDeleteAnyhoo, have a great weekend, Kim:) XOXO
What an interesting collab between a coffee brand and a football team! As Emmy says above I'm more into Olympics than one specific sport :-) Baci, Valeria - Coco et La vie en rose NEW POST
ReplyDeleteIt's nice that this collaboration actually went beyond just putting the Saints logo onto a product and Community Coffee actually created a custom blend to reflect the spirit of the team. Such a cool way to support the team. I watch football sporadically with my husband but I'm really more of a baseball fan.
ReplyDeleteI am such a coffee addict. To tell you the honest truth I am drinking a cup right now while typing this. ;-D This coffee brand sounds so delicious!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a coffee drinker, but I have to admit, the vanilla mocha ice coffee from Community Coffee looks and sounds so good, I could almost be swayed! I love that you are able to work with local New Orleans brands like Community Coffee, Kim - in our increasingly internet-based world, seeing truly local brands reinforces the sense that there are still communities out there with shared goals and hopes.

This coffee has to be good! I would love to eat some really good jambalaya in New Orleans :)

Fun collaboration! I would love it in New Orleans since I like my coffee rich and bold with just a touch of milk. Although I am not a sports fan I also live in an area where people are obsessed with our teams. So I have been to my share of games and tailgating which is a blast! Then I people watch instead of watching the game. :)
ReplyDeleteThe Mocha Vanilla Iced Coffee sounds so good!
ReplyDeleteI'm a coffee addict!! I won some of their K-cups and love them so far. Such a great selection of yummy flavors :)

I remember you sharing this brand before on the blog, so I'm familiar with the name! I love the idea of creating a Saints blend and even more so, since they actually considered the tradition of the coffee the people of New Orleans love. It's good to know that the brand doesn't just favor marketing, but values the legitimacy of what they're advertising, too! My husband is VERY hard to break out of Starbucks coffee and I must admit, I am, too, haha! But perhaps we can discover this brand, we shall see! Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have a great weekend!

Awesome that they have created something special just for the team!
ReplyDeleteIt was interesting to read a little more about tailgating too - we don't have such a tradition here, I think it's a uniquely US thing, but something that sounds really fascinating. You see a bit of it in TV shows now and then but I think it would be a lot of fun to take part in!
Away From The Blue Blog
I loveeee iced coffee but my husband hates it! And let's be honest, you can't go wrong with vanilla and mocha together, it sounds delish, Kim! On to football, I only started watching it when I migrated here, the sport is not as big in Malaysia and I rarely see it shown on tv. Here it's everywhere and as big as hockey for Canadians.

I'm obsessed with iced coffee!! and the mocha vanilla sounds sooo good!! Are those flavored black coffee, or more creamy like a latte? I'm super curious about them! And all the football talk makes me want to be rest for Fall lol!! I love all the tailgating tips and traditions, I've actually never been tailgating before!
ReplyDeletemmmm, coffee! And here I am, having just finished mine! hahah!

I am a sports fan except for football. I like basketball, baseball and Euro soccer. But I love coffee. This coffee brand looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteNot a big coffee drinker here but mocha and vanilla? Sure!
ReplyDeleteI love that Community Coffee Company is such a big part of your family! Even better they are locally owned to you too! It's also really lovely they've created a coffe just for New Orleans Saints Coffee!
