Dose Of Colors EyesCream Palette Review & Swatches
When Dose Of Colors announced the beginning of the year, that they were coming out with an ice cream themed eye-shadow palette for Summer, I knew I had to have it! I'm a makeup lover & collector! How cute is an ice cream theme? Well Summer moved along and there was no sign of this palette, until a couple of weeks ago. I guess better late than never :S Dose Of Colors even provided swatches of their EyesCream palette on their instagram page. The colors looked lovely! So I ordered and received it. What are my thoughts? It's SUPER CUTE! What's not to love? The palette has a cute ice cream parlor theme! Polka dots & colorful ice cream cones grace the cover. The box that the palette came in was gorgeous! It was pink & green (definitely a keepsake) and upon opening the box, it said "Treat Yourself, You Deserve It". The palette was wrapped in Dose of Colors tissue paper and the cutest ice cream cone w/sprinkles sticker topped it off. So, how did the eye-shadows perform? When I first swatched the palette, two of the shades (see my pictures below) were not very pigmented and chalky (Berries N Cream and Lavender Honey). I was a little underwhelmed. Even using MAC Fix + I couldn't get Lavender Honey to be more pigmented like in the Dose of Colors instagram picture. But the other eight shades were GORGEOUS! They were beautifully pigmented and the metallics definitely razzled & dazzled me! I looked at a couple of YouTube reviews and a couple mentioned that the mattes (particularly the one's I had trouble with) performed better on the eyes than swatched on the hand. So I tried it and they were right! Berries N Cream & Lavender Honey looked way better on the eyes! So I'm glad that issue was resolved! The only other products I've tried from Dose Of Colors were their Dare to Dazzle lip collection. I LOVED THEM! For me, I'm happy! I love all 10 shades. This will be a nice addition to any makeup collectors collection! This palette is still available.

They are lovely colours Kim - I'm glad they all give you the results you want when worn on the eyes. You're right too, that is such a cute case, definitely a perfect keepsake! :)

ReplyDeleteSuch a cute palette for sure, Kim, and so good to hear that all the shades are a win. I find it interesting that the mattes didn't swatch as well on the hands but did great on the eyes. Definitely something to keep in mind.

What an adorable palette! Those eyeshadow shades are way outside of my comfort zone but I am so impressed by how pigmented they are, even if some didn't swatch as well for you as you had hoped. I'm definitely keeping this palette in mind for the beauty lovers on my Christmas gift list!

ReplyDeleteThey did a great job with the ice cream themed packaging form the outside box to the palette itself. Good to hear the the eyeshadows perform well too once you figured out the issue with the mattes. Yay that this one made you happy Kim!
ReplyDeleteThis palette looks adorable, but I'm in some eyeshadow crisis right now. I'd love to try new colors without overdoing it but I don't know which colors. Therefore I'm focusing on sculpting and highlighting till I make up my mind! Tons of love my dear!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had better luck applying to your eyes with the two matte shades you had issues with. The swatches came out awesome though! Cone is SUPER pretty! I also like sherbert and double scoop. I'm not huge on colorful shadows but I can appreciate how pretty they are!

ReplyDeleteI really love a good theme (Too Faced are especially good at that) and ice cream is such a good one! I feel like Blueberry Swirl is a really interesting flavour and the pigmentation is fantastic!

ReplyDeleteWOW, these colors are gorgeous! They look so pretty in the pan, but when you swatch them, omg, my eyes instantly gravitated towards Mint Chip! I see the chalkiness in the Lavender Honey shade, I'm glad it's not an issue once applied to the eyes because that would've been a bummer, it's so pretty! This palette is soooo cute Kim! I love the ice cream theme. The swatches are so pretty. I love them all! I love the mint chip and berry swirl, those are stunning! It's so hard to pick my favorites though! I'm glad they perform better on the eyes too than swatched!
