Pixi by Petra Classic Beauty: Lip Balm, Endless Brow Gel Pen, Endless Silky Eye Pen and Lengthy Fiber Mascara Review & Swatches

Sponsored: I received two boxes of Pixi by Petra products last month. I've had a chance to try everything, so let me go over the first box (makeup) today and I'll cover the second box (skincare) tomorrow. Below is Pixi by Petra's Classic Beauty #FlawlessinFive box. The purpose of these products is to "Simplify your beauty routine with these must have Pixi products for a timeless look. Lush lashes, defined brows, and bold lips in a few fuss-free minutes!" Below are my thoughts on each...

Sweet-Bittersweet-NotSweet
supersweet(run & buy it) sweet(really good,buy it) bittersweet(ok, issues)not sweet(not good,don't buy this stuff)

Pixi by Petra Shea Butter Lip Balm (Ripe Raspberry) - Bittersweet

The formula for this lip balm was ok. It starts off moisturizing, but I constantly had to reapply. The other problem I had, was with the color. It looks pretty normal on the back of my hand, but it was bright on the lips. This comes in 7 shades, so maybe one of the other colors would work better for me.

Pixi by Petra Endless Brow Gel Pen (Medium) - Not Sweet

The Endless Brow Gel Pen, comes in light, medium and deep. I used very light strokes on my brows and it still felt too dark for me. It didn't give my brows a "natural" look. They looked drawn on (which I hate). I think two things were going on here: 1. The point doesn't allow for thin, hair like strokes (it has a medium tip). 2. There's a limit in color shades. The Light shade also looks too light for me. So trying to find the perfect match of color, may prove to be an issue for some. Also, once you apply, don't touch or rub! It can easily smudge and move about. Maybe a makeup setting spray might help.

Pixi by Petra Endless Silky Eye Pen (Graphic Greige) - Bittersweet

You may remember my Supersweet LOVE for the HOLIDAY/METALLIC Silky Eye Pen I received in November. So why does this one get a Bittersweet rating? This really limits what kind of line you can make! If you like thin lines, this will not work. Unless you make THICK cat eye wings, this will not work. This has a medium point! With the metallic one, you're usually just adding a dab of sparkle to the inner corners of the eyes or maybe underneath the eye. You may even do a cut crease! Another thing I would like to point out, is don't wear this if you love to rub your eyes or plan on crying a lot. LOL It has some staying power, but it will smudge if you do any of the above.

I've already reviewed Pixi by Petra's Lengthy Fiber Mascara. I gave it a Bittersweet rating.

  3. Shame that these products didn't impress you very much - especially since you loved the previous eye pen! I guess when they release new collections not everything will be as good as previously!

Hope you like the skincare better :)

  4. It's such a shame nothing really stood out to you, I actually really like Pixi as both a skincare and makeup brand yet I haven't tried any of these products. Makeup-wise, I really like their Mattelustre lipsticks as well as their eyeshadow palettes!

  5. I can see why you didn't like this Brow Gel Pen. I don't like the painted on effect either. Shame this product couldn't make your brows look natural... I think you're right in pointing out the possible problems- the colour that didn't work out for you and not being able to find a proper shade....and you're also right about the top being too wide. The same goes for make up pencil, if it only manages to create a thick eye wing then it is not really versatile...and I do rub my eyes sometimes and I don't want to end up looking like a panda, so I'll have to pass on this one. Shame nothing really stand out in the beauty department with this brand, I hope you had better luck in skin department. I will read about it soon enough:)

  6. Ah, that's a shame! I can understand why the brown gel pen doesn't get the thumbs up from you - anything that poses possible smudging around the eyes is best left weeeeell alone haha. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the skincare box you received though! :) Have a lovely week Kim!

  7. Anything make-up that has a medium tip drives me crazy. You can always build on lines made with a fine tip, but you can't scale back from a thicker line - it just doesn't work! It's a total pet peeve of mine and I absolutely understand why these products didn't rate high from you because of that. Great review, Kim.

  8. I don't mind the tinted lip balm but I generally go for on lipstick or just clear balm. I'm usually all or none when it comes to makeup haha. Although I occasionally will do a quick 5-7 min face.

  9. Sorry these were a miss for you! I think the thickness of the brow pencil is def why you had an issue with it.

  10. Oh, that's too bad about these, Kim.:( I guess not everything can be a winner from any line. Thank you for the heads up about the quality on these. I always appreciate your honesty:)

  11. That's too bad these products were just okay and duds, Kim! I hate lipblams that I have to constantly reapply because they aren't working. And that's so weird it turned out super bright on the lips!

  12. Looks like a nice brand. My only concern is that the brow pencil has no brush to blend and fix the brows afterward. It really makes a difference when there is a brush on the other tip of the pencil to blend and fix the brow into place.

  16. Ah, such a shame these products didn't hold up. I can see what you mean in the tips being too large for both the brow gel and liner. Perhaps they can take your feedback into consideration because you made some very valid points here. Thanks so much for sharing your honest thoughts, as always, beautiful, and I hope you're having a wonderful day so far!!!

  17. Bummer that each of these products didn't quite work out for some reason Kim. Yikes on the Brow Gel Pen! That drawn on brow look is such a no no! I certainly hope that the skincare fared better and I look forward to reading your review on those!

  19. That's unfortunate it didn't work out. The eyeliner is crazy thick - who likes it that thick?

  20. This is the reason why I truly love and respect you, Kim, you give very honest review and are not afraid to speak your mind. I hope you had better luck with the skincare. :-(

  22. Love that you always give us your honest thoughts, Kim! I love Pixi's skincare line but haven't tried much from their makeup line. I do have one of those lip balms...and I can't say that I loved it either. It was okay but I hated having to reapply constantly...mine is in a coral-y color and also bright on the lips. I haven't reached for it in over a year!

  23. What a pity that none of the products meet your expectations, I do not know this brand but it is always good to discover the latest developments in the cosmetics world. Kisses Kim!

  24. after using powder for my brows for a while now, it's hard to go back to pencil...they all seem too dark!

  25. I love their Shea Butter Lip Balm! The other colors are as bright on the lips aswell, except for the clear one that is just a normal lip balms. Almost all other shades were very pigmented and they worn for a few hours.
