Beauty Bakerie Cinnamon Roll, Royal Tea and Berried Metallic Lip Whips: Review and Swatches

I've reviewed Beauty Bakerie's Hot Cocoa Lip Whip Set, Neapolitan Eyescream Eyeshadow Palette, and today I'll be reviewing some of Beauty Bakerie's METALLIC Lip Whips. You may remember I was less than impressed with the formula of their Hot Cocoa Set (MATTE Lip Whips). The only one out of the set that I really liked was Ginger Snap. Overall, the formula was DRYing. So I wanted to try their METALLICS. I'm happy to say, I like their metallic lip whips a lot better! They're light on the lips and richly pigmented. As mentioned before (mattes), the metallics also have staying power. You will need a cleansing oil or micellar water to remove these. There are only two negative things I would like to mention about these. They're not moisturizing. You must prep your lips before using these! Your lips should be exfoliated and fully moisturized before application. If you click on my pictures below (enlarge), you'll notice they show every line in your lips. Usually my lips are pretty moisturized, but I've had a super busy week hahaha (so I'm glad that showed up in my pictures). Secondly, BERRIED is not as metallic as the other two! It also dries down differently than swatched on the back of my hand. I had to do a double swatch, because there was such a difference. Despite these quirks, I love all three. After reviewing this company three times, I would suggest reading reviews and analyzing pics before purchasing. Their products can be hit or miss (formula). I SUPER LOVE their packaging! The swirled casing for their lip whips are gorgeous. My lip whips were sent in a bakery box ... "a box of cake". The boxes the lip whips come in say, "nutrition facts 1 sweetie per serving...vegan...no calories...all sweet". Their details are superb. They're even coming out with face setting powder called FLOUR. I love all of that about them! But sometimes I'm disappointed with their formula. Like their MATTES.

  1. I love Cinnamon Roll! I love the packaging too. I feel like given their price and the couple negatives I would stick with the ColourPop metallic lips since they aren't drying and are only $6.00! Thanks for sharing your thoughts Kim!

  2. Definitely not a fan of lip products that dry out my lips and accentuate every line and crack, but the metallic shades are pretty gorgeous.

  4. Yay! I'm glad you gave the brand another chance and find products you like :) The metallic shades definitely look more wearable than most metallic lipsticks. They look beautiful on you! I really love the shade Berried.

  6. Glad these were better! Every time I don't prep my lips with balm before a liquid lipstick, I always regret it- no matter the formula!

  7. Oh such a shame these aren't as great as the packaging - it is a pretty cool design. I prefer my lip products to be moisturising, they are always dry from the sun, or the aircon or the winter cold haha!

Hope you have a great weekend coming up :)

  11. You always looking banging in Mettalics, Kim.
I'm not surprised they aren't moisturizing, but hate that the previous were super drying. That being said, i still wanna try both.

  12. It amazes me how well metallics suit you, Kim! I'm not all that familiar with Beauty Bakerie, but I have to admit that lately I'm not taking a lot of risks on new beauty brands - I have so many products I'm not really using because they weren't what I hoped they'd be, it seems a bit silly to try a lot more until I've at least done a big clean-up (which I should really hurry up and actually do!)

  15. YES to metallics! I've been pretty slow about trying any metallic shades, but you're certainly pushing me towards trying them with this post Kim, haha. Berried is definitely my favourite, though all 3 are so special. I love your video clips by the way, I've only ever seen that on your blog :)

  16. The packaging is SO pretty and I love their dessert concept, so cute! I also love the colors. I don't think this formula would work for me b/c my lips for the past few months have been SO chapped, no matter what I do; I think it's the pregnancy. Thanks so much for sharjnf, beautiful, and I hope you have the best weekend ahead!

  21. All three shades are beautiful! I love royal tea! I'm glad you like these, but that's too bad that they see drying! And so weird the berried is different from the other two. I'm glad these are better than the mattes, and I hope this brand finds more constantcy with their formulas! I agree the packaging is super cute and I love that they are calling their face powder flour!

  22. I've not heard of Beauty Bakerie before and while I'm not a massive fan of the packaging (looks a bit tacky, no?) your swatches are showcasing some seriously gorgeous colours! Royal Tea is so beautiful!

  23. I am a fan of metallics but I have only bought eye shadows mostly lip colours. I would like them more moisturising but that does not deter me from giving a try! The Berried and Royal Tea colours are my favourite hues here! :)
