Appliances are the glue that holds our lives in place. Whether you are thinking about a fridge, an AC unit or even a blender, every single one of these appliances has a role to play at the home, and the role they play can never be overstated. Of course, buying online is your best bet, because it helps you save, but you want to take every single measure to make sure that your money is not flying out the window.
Here are a few tips when shopping for appliances online:
Look at reviews
Online reviews are the best approach to assessing the various outlets that have their wares out there. Go to places like Yelp as well as product pages of specific appliance companies and take a read at what everyone is saying. There, you are going to land on some insights that help your shopping experience. Do not always expect 100% positive ratings from users, because there is always an unsatisfied customer out there.
Look out for free shipping
Appliances are very sensitive. They need to be transported carefully in order to make sure that there are no damages or breakages. Your retailer is best placed to oversee the shipping for you, but you need to find a way not to pay for it either. 90% of retailers allow for free shipping, subject to the condition that you shop for items up to a particular total price. Check around for the best deals on shipping and go with whatever looks suitable. If you would like to view a list of retailers which offer appliances then

Take advantage of promotions
Never at any time buy appliances online without going for discount. To this end, timing is key. Browse your favourite web pages and put down the dates when some retailers are going to have offers. Compare available incentives and go with the seller that gives you the most budget-friendly deals in the market.

Free shipping is always the thing that catches us all out - especially when it comes to larger items! Thanks for the great tips, and have a lovely week ahead :)

I actually really love buying everything online, including appliances, but alas, the husband is pretty old school and want to buy big items in person. These are great tips though, Kim:)
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a lovely weekend so far.
Wonderful tips. We really have to be careful when buying on line for big items. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWe bought our last two new appliances online and it's a really good way to do it if you can get in on a sale and free shipping as well as free haul away out of it.
ReplyDeleteI bought a few appliances secondhand, but do love shopping online when there is a sale and removal as well!
ReplyDeleteGreat tips Kim! I was recently shopping for a dishwasher online.
ReplyDeleteOne tricky thing I noticed was with the free shipping deal. Many offer free shipping over a certain dollar amount like $398. When browsing the dishwashers, some were priced $396 then the next price point up would be about $100 more! Sneaky retailers! We ended up buying one on a whim at a Home Depot. A store I never would have thought to shop for an appliance at. The unit was on sale and fell within the free shipping requirements. The haul away fee of the old one was cheaper than other retailers too!
I often buy appliances online because they're usually much cheaper that way, but I do check out reviews though! Thanks for your tips!
ReplyDeleteGreat tips :) I'm always looking for a good promotion and a sale. I might now even order when I have to spend money on shipping :D

I totally agree about reading reviews!! Anything that I purchase online I read reviews for first. Something big like appliances would definitely be a must for me to read review first! Thanks for sharing these tips, kim!
