Murad Rapid Resurfacing Peel Review

I REALLY LIKED Murad's Intensive C Radiance Peel ($55) that I reviewed last year. It's a cream you apply to your face, that's gentle, but very effective. It restored my confidence in doing peels on my dry/sensitive skin and my skin felt amazing afterwards! So out of curiosity, I saw that Murad also had Rapid Resurfacing Peel pads ($44)! Were they better? They cost less! They boast 10% glycolic acid and vitamin C. They promise to re-texturize & brighten the skin without irritation; and they promise smoother & softer skin after just one application. Well, these pre-soaked towlettes hold a lot of product. I wiped my face with the towelette. I did not rinse (as directed). I followed with a moisturizer. The magic never happened. I didn't see any benefits. These were just TOO GENTLE! I didn't get the same results as the Intensive C Radiance Peel (where you leave the product on & then rinse it off), which also has glycolic acid and vitamin c (they don't disclose the percentage of glycolic acid in that one). You can read all of my Murad reviews here (my mom does really well with Murad products, but only some work for me ... they're either really good or don't work for me). If you are looking for a peel that's gentle & effective (dry/sensitive skin) go with the Intensive C Radiance Peel. If you're looking for a good exfoliator for the skin, I really liked Murad's Skin Smoothing Polish. I will say, I'm more smitten with Drunk Elephant's TLC Framboos Glycolic Night Serum (not with how it felt when I put it on, but the results of my skin the next morning...now that is what I call resurfacing). Also, if you come back tomorrow, I will be reviewing some glycolic pads that are AMAZINGLY GOOD! I felt a difference after using them ONLY ONE TIME. You won't like the price! You won't like it at all! But my skin felt the difference! Come back tomorrow to find out my friends >.< It's another doctor! But I'm impressed!

  1. I have the experience that after using a glycolic acid regularly for a certain period of time, gentle ones don't really make much difference, because my skin doesnt need more resurfacing, it is just good for upkeep in between.

  2. It's a pity these were too gentle for your skin - I usually find myself feeling that way when it comes to body exfoliators! Hope you're having a good week so far Kim :)

  3. I've only tried one Murad product...I think it's an exfoliator and I do like it but have never realy explored the line much coz it's so dang expensive here....sigh....but thanks for this review, Kim:) The Skin Smoothing Polish sounds pretty good but will probably pass on this peel.

  5. That's bad, these were too gentle for your skin. I have yet to try Murad products, so this was interesting to read.

  7. It's a shame you didn't get the results you hoped for with these pads, Kim, but I have to say that I'm not surprised. I've never yet met a peel pad that I found effective, and I've tried lots. Maybe one day there will be a good one, but I'm not holding my breath.

  8. It's a bummer that these peel pads didn't work as well as the radiance peel. Kim now you have my curiosity piqued for the pads that worked well for you. I also wasn't too crazy about the feel of the Drunk Elephant TLC Framboos Glycolic Night Serum on my face either but the results were worth it ;p

  9. Bummer that they were too gentle but hey, better that than being irritating and harming you, right? :)

  11. Oh it's a shame that this didn't give you such good results, although it's great that you have another product (the serum) that you love more.

Hope you are having a lovely week! :)
