Yesterday, I talked about BAD GLOW! Today, let's look at GOOD GLOW! Last year,
PUR Cosmetics came out with a Sun-Kissed Glow palette (still available now $18 orig. $34)! I purchased it, but never opened it. I barely knew the difference between highlighters & luminizers, let alone STROBING! As I swatched it (a couple of months ago), I asked myself why did I buy this palette? HaHaHa I wasn't very enthused with the swatches on my hand. It wasn't until I applied the product, that I remembered WHY I purchased this! It was the EFFECT that these gave my skin! Sometimes you don't want a highlighter (bling bling)! Sometimes you don't want a luminizer (which is pretty much bling & glow to a lesser degree)! Sometimes you just want LUMINOSITY (light) for your face! That's where STROBING comes in! Let me tell you who should LOVE strobing! DRY SKIN TYPES (like me). When you have dry skin, sometimes it looks DULL. There's no glow! There's no light! This also happens with age. When you're young, for the most part your skin is VIBRANT! You don't have to do much when it comes to achieving light to the face! As you get older, that vibrancy decreases and you have to find ways of putting it (Vibrancy) back into your skin. Using great skincare is one! Eating well is another! Exercise increases circulation and helps put it back in! Getting a good nights rest really helps! Then there is MAKEUP (adding luminosity/light/vibrancy to the skin)! With this palette, you can use one or all colors at one time! I used a beauty blender for application. I applied these creams to my nose, cheeks, forehead, cupids bow & chin. Application of these can be done either before or after foundation application. Dusk, the darker of the shades can be used to contour or bronze. It gives a wonderful tanning effect (as you'll see in my picture below)! These blend effortlessly & seamlessly with your other makeup. They look much better on the face, then on the hands LOL The only people that I wouldn't recommend this to are OILY SKIN TYPES. You're already dealing with shine, and I feel this would be too much and may exacerbate the problem. But if you want a wonderful lit within glow, this is a great purchase. If you're not into creams, BECCA makes a lot of skin perfectors (like this
champagne pop one), that you can pump into foundation or use on it's own. But this one from PUR is more economical.

This sounds amazing, Kim! I agree about the glow fades away as we get older, it's the reason why I always wear highlighter even on my no makeup days.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely, light look!
ReplyDeleteThese definitely give you a beautiful glow!
ReplyDeleteYep, the skin needs that extra glow as we grow older ! I really like these shades.
ReplyDeleteI loveee this one- thanks for the reminder to pull it out. I especially love layering powder highlight over top when I'm in the mood for extra glow.

ReplyDeleteI bet you're glad you purchased this now Kim! The glow it imparts is gorgeous on you and the colors look really pretty and natural! Yes so true that as we older, we need a little help in the vibrancy dept. LOL
ReplyDeleteI saw this last year & almost bought it but I've read somewhere that it contains AHA or BHA so I was a little sceptical & didn't bought it
ReplyDeleteWow this glow is everything Kim, I love it!!! I use a highlighter almost every day and I need a natural glow on days when my skin feels tires and dull. This looks amazing on you!! x

Woot! This palette looks fab, Kim, and you're looking mighty fine too:) I have super oily T-zone but I think something like this might still work for me, esp. during the colder months. Thanks for the swatch, my friend:)
ReplyDeleteOh wow I am really impressed, it looks stunning

So far my glow hasn't´t faded at all, so I only use highlighter for special occasions or filming. But I tend to prefer creams over powders, they are usually easier to work with.

Such a natural looking glow. I love it.
ReplyDeleteGreat review, your swatches are so beautiful always! I don't wear highlight much so can't speak much on glow duration, thank you for sharing. Hope you have a great day x

What a gorgeous palette, Kim! Pur is a new brand for me but I do love the subtle glow for everyday and am running low on product in my current palette, so I'm going to see if I can hunt this one down here in Canada.

Your bad glow post made me LOL! 😂 So glad you could use the highlighter as a body shimmer. I use bad highlighters as an eyeshadow. This Pur highlighters swatch is really great on your hand. Brands often find it difficult to make good highlighter palettes. This one looks like it will be suitable for most skin tones.
ReplyDeleteLovely palette and the glow it gives your skin is just right. You look beautiful!
