The last highlighter in my collection is
The Balm's Cindy-Lou Manizer ($24). Older readers may remember my
Mary-Lou Manizer review. Mary-Lou is more of a champagne, "honey-hued' luminizer, whereas Cindy-Lou is described as a "peachy-pink" luminizer. Personally, I think it's more pink than peach; and baby pink at that LOL. I have it on my nose, cheeks and lips below. I don't wear a lot of pinks well, but I can use this as a blush topper for some of the pink blushes that do look good on me. This would look much better on pale to light skin tones. But even then, it's just ok to me. Mary Lou is still the winner in my book (at least for me). I'll be reviewing the third one soon! Betty-Lou!!! I'm just realizing Betty-Lou is a shimmering BRONZER and not a highlighter! So that should be interesting. Do you have any of the Lou sisters in your makeup collection? Thoughts? Hope you had a great weekend.

The Balm Cindy-Lou Manizer is Bittersweet
No Lou sisters is my collection, but my collection isn´t very big anyway.

It's a shame this isn't working so well for you Ki, as it's such a fun collection with that packaging!
ReplyDeleteIt's so interesting seeing you go through everything in your collection for a specific item like highlighters - similar to when I have a period of wearing one particular kind of item in my wardrobe in an effort to identify what works and use it to inform future purchases! :)
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend! :)

Shame this didn't work out for you! It looks pretty in the pan

Kim, it's good you found a way to use this even though the shade doesn't quite work that well as a highlighter for you. And you have a bomb collection of highlighters girl ~_^
ReplyDeleteThis looks so pretty and I think I have it, but I hardly use it :D

Pink Frenzy
I absolutely love the packaging. It does look really pale on your skin.
ReplyDeleteI think this looks super pretty on you Kim! I have Mary Lou, I haven't used it in forever. I think the whole collection is pretty, but was never sure if Cindy or Betty would look good on me!
ReplyDeleteI only really like mary lou of all the three but I guess this could be a nice blush topper for those into shimmer!

I don't have any of these sisters hehehe but I am really loving cindy on you. I can't say I've seen many pink highlighters, at least none that go on with a pink glow

I have the Mary Lou Manizer and I ADORE it so much. I swear I use it very day. I had no idea that the Cindy Lou Manizer is bittersweet. This is why I love your reviews so much. You always give your honest opinion. I won't be purchasing this one. I would rather buy another Cindy lou manizer. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, Kim - I still find the packaging from this brand so off-putting that I haven't been able to bring myself to try any of their products. But I looked back at your review of Mary-Lou and it was a beautiful shade. I just might be convinced ;)

Cee
I don't have any of them. It's sad this one didn't work for you, the packaging is so retty though.

I think this would look more peachy on me. I have a sample of the Mary Lou one from Ipsy. It's super tiny so I use it as an inner corner highlight.
ReplyDeleteI have never tried theBalm highlighters even though I know they are classic and highly raved as amazing by many. I don't think this would work on me either, it honestly look....boring.
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty nice, though I'm really looking forward to reading/seeing your review of Betty-Lou, the shimmering bronzer. Sounds dreamy!!

I have nothing of this collection, it is a pity that it does not work as you expected, the design of the packaging is very nice. Have a nice day Kim!

Never heard of the brand, I like the packaging though... too bad its bittersweet, I think it washes you out.
