Hey Everybody! I tried
Lalicious Sugar Kiss Hydrating Body Butter in 2016. I was impressed with its formula and loved its cotton candy scent. So I definitely wanted to try more of
Lalicious products. It was through an ULTA purchase, that I received a deluxe sample of their Sugar Coconut Nourishing Lip Butter and Extraordinary Whipped Sugar Scrub. How did I like them? Find out below.
Sweet-Bittersweet-NotSweet
supersweet(run & buy it) sweet(really good,buy it) bittersweet(ok, issues)not sweet(not good,don't buy this stuff)
Lalicious Sugar Coconut Nourishing Lip Butter ($18) - Bittersweet
This lip butter is housed in a jar. The consistency of it is more like a lip balm (hard but malleable). The scent is great! It smells like authentic coconut. It's soft & sweet. What I don't particularly care for is scooping the product out of the jar. Secondly, it's a little heavy! I tested it out at night, because it conflicted with any lipstick I tried wearing during the day. It did better with liquid lipstick & colored lip balm (but doesn't that defeat the purpose). Thirdly, you get some moisture, but it didn't moisturize my lips as well as my Fresh lip balms. So that is why I say, this is just ok. The scent is what's nice.
Lalicious Sugar Coconut Extraordinary Whipped Sugar Scrub ($35) - Bittersweet
This coconut scrub looks DREAMY in the jar! Again, great authentic coconut scent! The granules are not too soft or too hard for your skin (even my dry sensitive skin). The problem I had was the experience! You rub this scrub in. Mix it with water. Your skin becomes an oily mess! Your tub and shower floor become an oily mess. I had a flashback to when I tried Fresh's Brown Sugar Body Polish! It did the same thing. With both brands however, you are left glowing, moisturized skin! But it's what you have to go through. May I suggest, if you're looking for a great moisturizing scrub try
Soap & Glory's Breakfast Scrub. It moisturizes without the oily feeling and is still my favorite.
Oh gosh, body scrubs that leave an oily mess are one of my beauty pet peeves - along with clay masks that leave dark clay deposits in your tub and sink. Honestly, if a product is going to leave me with a mess, I'm just not interested in using it. Which is a shame as the scent of the scrub sounds lovely as does the texture :(

Yikes, too bad ! its awful when first you have a marvellous experience with a product and then the rest are just downers...
ReplyDeleteOh I don't like like products that leave my skin oily! I like my lip balms to be heavy but only if they actually moisturize. Last winter I picked up old fashioned Vaseline lip balm when my lips were giving me a problem. It now has a permanent place on my nightstand and is applied every night. Even though it is thick and sticky I have found it to be far better than anything else I have used on my lips in the past!
ReplyDeleteCoconut is known to be really moisturising I really like that!

I like that it is cotton candy scented but not the oiliness. http://www.mrsqbeauty.com
ReplyDeleteToo bad about leaving everything super oily....I do like more hydrating scrub for winter, so I'll check out the Soap & Glory one x

That's too bad that these are just okay! They sound lovely, and the scent does too! But I don't like lip balms that are heavy and not moisturizing, and I would also not like to be an oily mess from the scrub! Thanks for sharing these reviews, Kim!
ReplyDeleteSorry that these weren't great for you. The scent is something I would love but I need something that is very moisturizing for my lip and not an oily mess when I use a scrub! Thanks for your honest thoughts Kim!
ReplyDeleteToo bad they weren't wins. I love anything coconut!

Although the scent is great (luvz me some coconut), that's too bad about the cons of these products. Thanks as always for being honest with all your reviews, Kim.:) You rock!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds delicious although I know it is not for eating. What a shame it was not what you would expected in a lip balm and scrub. Thanks for sharing. I would love to hear your thoughts on my last post. Have a lovely day. Cris

It's a shame that it does not work as you expected, at first sight you see a product of trust, but sometimes appearances deceive.

I actually like the oilyness of products like the scrub, they make my skin feel so nourished! But I make sure to only use them in the shower to not mess up my whole bathroom.

Oh the scrub looks quite nice though the oiliness is a little off putting and for that price, I'd have to pass on this one x Sam

It's a shame that whilst these both smelled great -I love the scent of coconut!- they were a bit of a faff to use. I agree that a lip cream shouldn't interfere with products and it did look hard to get out. The scrub sounds lovely but I hate it when products cause a huge mess, it makes them harder to reach for.

I would hate the oily feeling. -Stephanie

Both of these products sounded so promising Kim. At least they nailed the coconut scent but it's a shame that the formulation left alot to be desired.
ReplyDeleteIt always sucks when scrubs leave an oily mess in the bathtub. It's so hard to clean sometimes.
