Colourpop Cosmetics Sand Collection: Now On Sale Review & Swatches

If you follow Colourpop cosmetics, you may be asking yourself "didn't the Colourpop Sand Collection come out this Spring?" And guess what? You're EXACTLY right! But don't these colors look FALL-ish? LOL Many of the collections that makeup companies came out with this year definitely had a Fall/Autum vibe. This is my FIRST Colourpop purchase! When they initially came on the scene, I was like who is this cheap makeup company!?! I dismissed them (BIG mistake). Those prices? What about the quality? Well I kept looking at and reading Colourpop reviews from my fellow blog buddy Tanya of Leopard Lace And Cheesecake and I was impressed. Everything looked great on her and she told me, Kim you have to try them. Colourpop comes out with a plethora of collections, which seems to be every week! I was trying to find one that was right for me. I follow YouTuber MesiJesiBeauty and she did a review of this collection. I was so impressed with her tutorial and explanation of things, I bought everything! THESE were my colors! The pigmentation of the blush, highlighter and eye-shadows are absolutely amazing. You can see that from my swatches below (I used Smashbox original primer on the back of my hand). Plus everything blended well! I do like the Ultra Satin Lip. It dries down as a matte, but it's mousse-y. So I didn't experience any cracking or flaking. But it will settle into fine lines if your lips aren't prepped or moisturized well. I did prefer Strip over Strut (but that's just a color preference). I don't have anything bad to say about this collection and I will buy more Colourpop makeup. I embedded MesiJesiBeauty's tutorial below (I followed her tutorial in the looks below). Mine is not exactly the same, but with more practice ;) I like her, because she takes you step by step when applying products. Eye-shadow application can be intimidating, but I'm learning a lot from her. This collection is now on sale. The prices were already cheap, so you can imagine now. Had to tell you guys about this. Have you purchased anything from Colourpop? Any recommendations? Anything you should stay away from? Let me know in the comments! Have a great weekend!

  1. I have not tried anything Colorpop. Not bevause I am a snob or think the quality wouldn't be up to parr, simply because I have so much stuff I need to use first. But I will keep in mind that you recommend them, should I feel the need for some new additions to my collection.

  5. I was gifted a number of Colorpop liquid lipsticks years ago and although I loved the colours, I found the texture much too dry - the darker shades actually cracked on my lips, which was not fun! I haven't been all that interested in trying the line since but Kim, I am so impressed with what I'm seeing in this post! Every single colour looks gorgeous on you and the formulas sound fabulous, too. It's definitely time for me to give Colorpop another try!

  9. Yes now that you mention it, these colors do have an autumn feel to them Kim. I haven't tried any Colourpop products but I do plan to when the brand is available at Sephora. Good to know what you liked :)

  10. Yes! So glad you picked this collection up and are loving it! I love the Double Play blush and highlight palette so much! That blush is so perfect for everyday even when I am at my lightest. I may review the Heavy Hitter palette but I also may skip since I have other things I need to review! All of those single shadows are so pretty! I wish I picked them up! I have strip and strut too and prefer Strip as well. I can't wait for their fall collection!!! I need those concealers as well.

  13. I've read and heard nothing but positive things about this brand and now you love them, so this just confirmed everything, lol! I, too, dismissed them as a cheap company, but it seems as though the prices are just a great deal. I love the collection, though it does look more like fall. I feel the same is happening in fashion. Collections for fall are looking more like spring and vice versa, it's so weird! For instance, for the Nordstrom sale, nearly everyone purchased this lilac ruffle sleeves cardigan, which don't get me wrong, is super cute! BUT, I did a head tilt because it was apart of the fall sale. I do wear pastels in the winter because I think they can have an icy feel to them, but not so much for fall. Anyway, thanks so much for sharing, beautiful, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  15. These darker colours do look perfect for fall Kim, and they are lovely on you! You did a great job with your eyeshadow too! I find eyeshadow tricky which is why I don't really wear it. Now I have a little pot of Charlotte Tilbury that I won I just use that when I wear makeup to the office as it's just one colour I apply with my fingers, I find that easier! :)

Hope you are having a lovely weekend :)

  16. This is a beautiful collection and it all looks great on you, Kim! I love colourpop and I'm always wanting to order more from them! I haven't tried their pressed shadows yet but I've been wanting to! And their cheek palettes, the one you got is so pretty! I love both those lip colors too. I only have two of their liquid lipsticks, I think the matte ones are really drying. And both my matte and satin ones turn my lips got pink! I still want to try more shade though haha
