Sponsored: The beginning of this year, I reviewed
Mad Hippie's Cream Cleanser and Vitamin A Serum. I knew nothing about this cute little indie company or it's products, but immediately became VERY SMITTEN with their skincare products. For both products, I gave them Supersweet ratings. They're really THAT good. Well, PR asked if I would like to review their eye cream ($24.99). Most definitely, because I'm curious about the rest of their skincare.
Mad Hippie Eye Cream is formulated with a lot of actives including peptides, ceramides, pomegranate and white tea (for a full list of benefits, see below). This eye cream promises to reduce wrinkles, skin discoloration and swelling around the eyes! The only thing that I suffer from are a few fine lines under my eyes (no puffiness, no discoloration). This eye cream is white & creamy. I found it to be very soothing when I placed it on my under eye area. I found this eye cream to be lightweight and it absorbed quickly. Under my eyes always looked refreshed after using it. Now I suffer from dry skin. I felt this formula worked great for daytime use (under makeup) because of how lightweight it was, but unfortunately long-term I feel it won't give me the necessary hydration my under eye skin needs. I feel this formula would work great for someone who suffers from skin discoloration & swelling. I also feel combination & oily skin types would love this formula. Dry skin types and maybe some normal skin types would need something more. So this eye cream is for certain types (in my opinion). I've been reviewing a lot of skincare this year, and just like cleansers etc. you really need to evaluate formulas to see if they will work for you! If they tailor to what you need! This is a really good eye cream, but it's best suited for other types. I also want to mention this product is Vegan, GMO Free, BPA Free, recyclable packaging & bottles and NO Animal Testing.

Mad Hippie Eye Cream is Sweet
Hmm, I have dry-combination skin and so I'm not sure whether this would suit my skin or not, as I'm falling somewhere in between the two categories haha. Wonderful they don't test on animals, and that it gets a Sweet rating from you! :)

It does sound like a lovely product, even if it's a little light on the moisturising for you. It would be perfect for summer here I think! It gets so humid my usually dry winter skin changes completely and doesn't need much other moisture!
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a nice start to the week. Nice and warm here today, a welcome change from the rain last week!
Away From The Blue Blog
This is a new brand to me, I hadn't heard of them before. The packaging is really cute. I have dry skin, I would probably need something more hydrating as well.

I so agree about skin care items like cleansers and eye creams really being a "Trial and error" products. Even when something is super awesome, unfortunately, it just doesn't work for some skin types, you know? This cream does sound good and I have dry skin around the eyes so this might work for me:)
ReplyDeleteThe packaging is super cute for sure, Kim:)
Skin discoloration and swelling under the eyes are two things I struggle with a lot. I have seasonal allergies, and have since I was very young - despite all the times my mom told me not to rub my eyes when I was a kid, it's hard not to when they itch, and my under eyes are quite damaged as a result. I feel like I never find an eye cream that can quite do all of the things I need, but this one might be worth a try for me, as hydration is the one thing I don't struggle with in the under eye area!

This sounds really nice for under makeup!

I've been intrigued by this brand ever since you first reviewed their products Kim. This eye cream does sound nice but it probably wouldn't work so well on my dry skin especially now that the weather is cooling down.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great company. I love their name and packaging too.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are loving this! I love trying different eye creams. The packaging is so cute!
ReplyDeleteI saw this first on your IG feed and loved the packaging and vibe this brand has going on .
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like an amazing eye cream, Kim and I know you're a huge fan of this brand.

I remember that blog review on this brand because it's one that I've seen around Whole Foods, so I loved reading your thoughts on it. This eye cream sounds wonderful for me because I experience discoloration (especially as a new mom with lack of sleep...what's sleep?! lol) and combination/oily skin. I'll have to keep this one in mind when I finish the eye cream I've been using. Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you're having a great week so far!

I've been curious about this brand as they seem to use great ingredients, so this review is really helpful! While I love their cute packaging, I think I'll pass on the eye cream since my eye area is quite dry. Will need to check out your review on their cream cleanser though!

This is a new brand for me and I am glad to see you love it. I don't have major issues in the under eye area but only a few lines and wrinkles but I use a cream day and night to moisture this area. And of course there are days when lack of sleep results to puffiness and swelling but thankfully it does not happen often! x
