IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation Illumination in Tan Review and Swatches

I learned about IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation Illumination Full Coverage Anti-Aging Illumination Foundation $35 (Whew!) from a YouTuber two years ago! I was so impressed with her review that I purchased it. I then started remodeling my home, packed a lot of makeup away and forgot about it. I was going through the last of my makeup stash and found it! Perfect timing for a review! If you decide to purchase this, PLEASE READ the outer box. IT Cosmetics has the foundation. They also have the foundation illumination (this review). As a foundation, this provides light to medium coverage. It says full coverage, but I don't think so. This is also only offered in five shades. However next year, IT Cosmetics is expanding their foundation shade range. So this will probably be expanded as well. I purchased this (2 years ago) in the WRONG SHADE...TAN! From my recent reviews, you guys know I'm in Medium Tan. You can't tell from these pictures, but it's a little dark for me. I've passed it on to my mom who can wear it. In this compact, you get a mirror, powder foundation and brush applicator. I applied my Too Faced Born This Way Foundation in Natural Beige and then topped it off with the IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation Illumination. This is where the magic happens! My skin had such a wonderful natural looking glow to it after using this! Look at the Too Faced picture; now look at the Too Faced + IT Cosmetics pictures. There's such a difference. No highlighters. No illuminators. My nose, cheeks, forehead etc. has a nice glow to it. So the point I'm trying to get across is this is a really good foundation TOPPER! I wouldn't say it's a great foundation on it's own, unless you have really good skin and can find a shade that fits you. That all could change. BUT I WILL BE BUYING THIS IN MEDIUM (they don't have it in Medium Tan yet)! LOL I super love the effect! I was only able to achieve this with Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop Liquid, Too Faced Candelight Glow, and in the Summer Benefit's Sun Beam. Those were the only three in my stash that gave me "natural" looks. You can peruse my highlighter and illuminator collection, but those look like highlighters! I love the natural finish of this. Benefit has just come out with a Poreprofessional illuminating PRIMER! So we will probably see more of this trend next year! It's all about the glow (but now a natural one).

  6. Ooo this does give you such a nice and pretty glow, Kim!! I’ve actually never heard of this before, so thanks for the introduction!’ I’m glad it works well over too of foundation! I’ve tried a few powder foundations that aren’t enough coverage on their own, but look way too cakey on top of my foundations! Nice to know that’s not the case with this!

  7. Oh it does look lovely on you Kim! It's so annoying it's not the right shade for you, but great your mum can use it! :) It sounds like such a nice product, and you can really see the difference! :)

I find powder foundations tricky to use, I always use a liquid one for coverage, I'm not sure how you'd get good coverage with a powder so using this on top sounds like the kind of thing I'd do :)

Hope you are having a lovely week, and you got some bargains in the sales. I ended up grabbing a little something on Cyber Monday after resisting temptation all weekend, haha!

  8. I agree with all the comments above, Kim! You look so fab in this. Thanks for the heads up about this not really being full coverage. Still sounds great though:)

  9. I know many people love powder foundation, but on its own, it isn't for me. That said, I love to layer it over foundation for a more natural, glowing look. But none of my powder foundations make me look as good as this makes you look, Kim! Wow! I'm going to have to get my hands on this once they expand the shade range.
